There's nothing wrong with Adelaide's life. There's nothing wrong with being cheated on. After all, half of marriages end in divorce and most end from infidelity. There's nothing wrong with getting addicted to an otome game. After all, everybody has something they're obsessed with. There's nothing wrong with reincarnating as the villainess instead of the heroine. After all, the villainess is richer and more powerful. There's nothing wrong with the villainess chasing after one of the love interests. After all, it's not like he's the canon route. There's nothing wrong with Ophelia's life.
"I see..." Lucas nods, crossing his arms.
Whatever he thinks, he's doing a good job right now of suppressing it into a simple, concerned frown.
It's probably for the best. Saying or doing rash things right now might only increase the torment of those in the village.
The man shakes his head as he continues.
"If you're traveling with your wife I suggest you don't stay here long. And I don't suggest you come through on your way back." He sighs. "Those of us who can leave are doing the same. The sooner anyone's out of here the better."
Lucas nods, lips pressed together. "I can understand that, but there's no way we can but off resting tonight. Even if it's a risk, we'll have to take it."
I cross my arms and grip my biceps extra hard, but hold my tongue.
There's no running from the effects of the Angel's Tear. Leaving this town won' t actually do anything. If it's something targeted, too, then it'll just chase them wherever they go.
