Chapter 18

After the battle training, I lost the MVP spot, ranking below another hero team. Apparently, you should consider the damage you do to the building more than the damage you should do to the villain. That, and the fact that I used my teammate as a sacrificial lamb.

"Sorry, Tamaki," I said as we left the class.

He sighed, "We won, still." But his tone still had a hint of sadness. He got a few bruises. But thanks to his quirk, he managed to heal fast.

"But you got your ass beaten," I replied. "And you were alone on top of that."

"Didn't you get your ass kicked by Lola?" Replied Tamaki, seeming to be a bit offended.

"On second thought, I think you should thank me for my plan," I said, "That Lola used the metal pipes as whips. You had no way to deal with them."

"Ouch, that must hurt," said Tamaki.

"I barely dodged a bullet," I said, swiping my head.

We got out of the school, and Tamaki raised his hand, saying, "See you tomorrow."

"Yeah, see ya," I replied.

Turning my head, I found Nejire waiting for me, her hands behind her back. Seeing her cute innocent face, I thought about kissing her again. I had done so yesterday before I fought Stain. And then there had been that drama about me trying to avoid her and correcting things. I wanted to get somewhere private and relax.

I stood next to her, hand on her shoulder, "Did I make you wait too long?"

"Not really," she said, "Where do you want to go?"

"You're the one who invited me for coffee. Do you have any place in mind?"

"In the center of the city," she said. "Instead of taking the bus, we could get there quickly with the train. If that's okay with you."

"Why wouldn't I?"

"I dunno. Some people have a phobia of trains because they occasionally get exposed to villain attacks," she explained.

I nodded and said, "Don't worry about that."

Then we got on the train, sitting with one leg over the other. I didn't know how we started a conversation, but we talked about the fights that we saw in school. Nejire ended up making remarks on everyone, not knowing that their owners may get hurt if they heard it.

Just as things were getting smooth, I had a tingling feeling in my back. My ear perked, as if there was something shaking the ground that we were standing on; It was my warrior sense that alerted me.

"Kenshiro," Nejire called, "Your face, why are you frowning all of a sudden?"

"I have a bad feeling that there is a giant beast or a very strong person causing damage." I looked out the window, looking at the high buildings. I may be anxious, but I had a feeling that we're heading to a bad place. I could feel the vibrations.

"Things look peaceful," Nejire said, her reflection appearing in the mirror.

The blurry sight started becoming clearer despite not activating my Sharingan, meaning that the train was slowing down.

"Let's stop here," I said.

"Whatever," Nejire shrugged.

We got off the train, hoping that I was paranoid.

As the train started moving again, a gigantic figure of a man appeared.

If my estimation was right, he should be around 8-10 meters. The giant jumped, landing in the middle of the rail. The train forcefully stopped, a few carts flew here and there. One of them headed at me. I held Nejire by the waist. Next to me was another middle-aged woman. Quickly reacting, I activated my aura and Chi, jumping forward and bending down – if I jumped backward, the cart would roll toward me.

For a moment, I thought my heart stopped beating. Time flowed slower than it used to. I dropped the two girls and turned my head. 50 meters away, there was a kid who held ice cream, holding hands with their mom.

I have to admit something. I hate gory scenes.

First, I released all of my energies. Second, I left an explosion behind me, racing with the heavy piece of metal as I held the two from the waist, lifted them, and jumped high in the air.

My legs felt sore from the combined use of all of my energies. Landing on my feet, I put the two down. They stared at me with wide-opened eyes and dropped jaws, barely realizing what had just happened.

Turning my head, I saw how the giant went on a rampage, kicking and punching.

I wondered what got into the head of this man to act this way.

His movement was like a hero summoning dance to get your ass kicked.

No rational villain would do that.

Anyway, it's better to call professionals to deal with them. Reaching into my pocket, I grabbed my phone. Then, there was the shock.

It was crushed?

Was it my aura, or was the pressure from thighs that caused that?

I looked at the giant with daggers in my eyes.

Seeming to notice my gaze, the giant moved his shark-like mouth. "Watcha lookin' at, asshole?"

I know. Civilians aren't supposed to fight villains and should escape. But there are exceptions such as self-defense when there was no other way.

"Seeing how big you are, I wonder how wide your mama's pussy is," I asked.

On the other hand, there was no law against trash talk.

"You said what?" he asked, walking slowly toward me, each step causing the ground to shake. I know with all of my muscles, if I got hit by someone this big, then I won't get out unharmed. The difference in weight class was just that wide.

"I just wonder," I replied, "Why villains like you go on a rampage in a public place. It's like you're asking to be arrested by heroes. You have no way to go." I pointed my hand to the side, "Everyone saw your face, and they are filming it. What do you expect to happen?"

"I'll take you guys as hostages then," he said, continuing to walk toward me and extending his hand.

"You're getting arrested anyway," I opened my arms. "You can't fix anything. You can only make things worse for yourself. You can do 5 years, 10 years, or a lifetime. Your choice."

The giant's hands shook, tears accumulating in his eyes. "I never meant to hurt anyone. I was working my ass off to pay rent. But the CEO delayed my payment, and when I talked, he fired me. I did my best, but my debts got bigger. My lawyer said that I'd go to jail If I pursued this, and If I can't pay him, I'm on my own. I didn't know how things ended up, but…" he put his hands on his face, "I broke down."

Did I just make a villain cry and tell me his sad backstory?

Was it the chakra in my voice?

"It's okay, big guy," I replied, trying to calm him down. "According to the law, you'll get less time for breaking down. Maybe you'll get some mental help. But don't make things worse for yourself. Think about your family. Surely, there is someone whom you would see eventually."

"My daughter…" he replied.

"You know, not being able to see someone else is no different from knowing they are dead," I continued. "That's how you two will feel if you get a life sentence."

The giant fell to his knees.

Huh?

Just as I looked at him to see what was wrong, a very large foot of an even larger giant kicked him in the face, sending him flying into the building. What passed by me was an ass cheek that was bigger than my room.

Activating my Sharingan, I had to see things in slow motion. The giant's cheek moved, followed by giant blond hair. Yep, a giant female around 20 meters with a tight costume.

The giant hit a nearby building, almost causing it to collapse. Many cars were crashed as the woman landed.

Forget about this dude; this woman caused more damage than the villain had done so far. She had sent him flying into another building unnecessarily.

Turning my head, I noticed many people taking pictures as the giantess started posing.

This scene is familiar.

'The canon has started? Where is the wood guy? Maybe I stalled the giant for the blondie to get here first?' I narrowed my eyebrow as I put my hand on my forehead. There was a notification from the system, but I ignored it.
