The person

At this moment a knock on the door rang out interrupting my little thoughts and my little sisters, who had been admiring my dress. Opening the door I could see the man who was the reason for my fear of marriage, my father he couldn't help but stare at me with a big grin on his wrinkled face, it was like the smile of a hunter who had successfully caught his prey, and shortly after he walked in as we greeted him with our heads bowing at the floor.

"Chioma, my dear daughter, it's time for you to attend the party," Father said, as he informed me with his usually harsh voice that had now turned peaceful, it was the first time I had seen Father say something without sounding rude or annoyed at someone. We soon left the room with an eerily quiet and tense atmosphere, at least for me, because I could tell my little sisters and my father were not having the same feeling.

I slightly heaved out a sigh, at this moment I couldn't help but wonder how we would get to the king's castle, we couldn't possibly use our legs, right? although I didn't really care about the event or king, nevertheless, I would hate to ruin the most beautiful and expensive dress I ever had in my life, just I was wondering a clutters of sounds interrupted my thoughts, and after we could see a hoarse carriage arrive in front of us with a man on knightly wear stepping out of the carriage. We all stared at his face with curiosity.

"My lady, must be Miss Chioma? My king has sent for you."He said with a strict voice and a long face, as he stretched forth his hands with the other leading inside the beautiful carriage that seemed to have been made of both gold and silver, almost as if it was designed for the king himself, I could feel father's excitement shoot through the roof.

I could tell what he was thinking but then I didn't care it was hard to imagine how much was wasted to make such carriage, with the group of long knights on heavy horses. I was nervous once again, as I realized my life wasn't really going to be the same again but then it was not like I could run away right?

Almost as I was about to step into the carriage, I suddenly felt my little sisters let go of my hands for some reason for a moment I had almost forgotten something, I was the only person that was allowed to attend the event, my heart couldn't help but ache as I curse the wicked bastard king secretly in my heart, I couldn't really understand why my family wasn't allowed to attend the ball event, even if my father wasn't allowed at least my mother and little sisters should have been allowed, I thought to myself.

Straightening myself, I gently nodded at my little sisters whose eyes were beginning to be teary making mine slightly thrub as well, my eyes wondered as I realized I couldn't see Mother anywhere, I looked at my father and I knew he must have done something to her again, there was no reason mother wouldn't be there, no matter how curious I was I knew the knight wouldn't allow me to do as I wish, so I quietly stepped inside not bothering to admire the inside but rather think about what my life would be from now on.

It wasn't long before we arrived at the very front of a very big and gigantic castle, with walls so big that I couldn't see the ends of it, as I descended the carriage, careful not to ruin my dress or fall, I slightly looked around with the corners of my eyes with a look of surprise, but it was hard to hide especially since it was the first time I was seeing so much beautiful carriages in one place, I wondered who these people were that owned these carriages? Not that I minded, I was just curious.

Just then I seemed to have kicked a stone and stumbled upon someone by mistake. I said sorry under my breath as I continued my work without bothering to look at who the person was.

"Are you alright, My lady?"The knight who I had seen before asked, as he led the way towards the inside of the castle.

The person Chioma had stumbled upon, couldn't help but straightened himself, as he look to see a silhouette of a girl, who had dared to stumble upon him like that and not even apologize properly, looking up a pair of ocean blue eyes, stared at her gradually moving figure, before stopping at the very entrance, he could tell he had never seen her before, just then a light grin appeared on his lips showing a pair of charming canines.

If he was bored before now, then now he was really looking forward to the ball party, suddenly he had an interest that until his curiosity was fulfilled he wouldn't rest. Who was this girl? He felt she was too daring. His gaze which had stared at her duplicated her image in his mind, like a masterpiece painting she had black silk long hair with beautiful brown color eyes.

With a fair beautiful skin, complimenting her, if it wasn't for the fact she was in a hurry he would have gotten a proper glimpse of her, nevertheless, he didn't mind, the images of her in his mind were more than enough.
