A volunteer, perhaps?

"Mike check. 321. Mike check"

The crowd quietened.

"Due to a crisis above, it is needed that 100 demons report to Earth. They are selected as followed."

...

I stared blankly at the stage from far away, behind hundreds that formed our division line. I tried hard not to but all that stayed longingly in my mind was a disheartening sense of grossness. I felt pathetic for being the way i was to him. But i know just as much as everyone else in hell that this, this here. Was my fate.

Names over names were called and spirals started to corrupt my vision. Like i was being hypnotised by my own decisions that have somehow broken me down to where i am today. Without sparing a minute for another man, not caring to listen to what they have to offer, like i have been for the last dozen decades.

"Mortem S"

The crowd began to murmur at the sound of his name.

Another man who stood by the stage made his way towards the presenter who stood staring at the lengthy scroll in confusion. They silently discussed to each other while the crowd continued their exchange of concerns.

The man walked back to his place by the chairs.

"Mortem S, who had been assigned for this mission, has been banished from hell. Due to this inconvenience, we will be taking a volunteer."

He scanned through us in deep thought. Did he think any of us would willingly do that to ourselves? Going up there in my opinion is a little worse than being exploited by Fur day and night.

I looked around.

Just as i expected, not a demon on this hell wants to do that to themselves. They were all avoiding eye contact and some were even crouching in case existing gave anyone the wrong idea.

I stood there too, knowing well that none can see me, arms folded in sass and disbelief by what i had witnessed half an hour ago.

Maya turned around, her eyebrows raised and mouth pouting, as if she was about to accuse me of something.

"Wont you wanna go to Earth?"

I stared right into her soulless figure. Was i supposed to laugh or...

She took me by the shoulders and straightened me.

"Do you know what i think?"

"No and i'm quite happy being this oblivious." I shrugged her grip off me.

She laughed to herself with a smirk

"You know the best way to get over that bastard. Go elsewhere and forget he even existed. Find yourself some better ones. I don't know what you see in him but it must've been one hell of a scam for it to have lasted 12 decades."

I was quite concerned that she wasn't joking.

"Pfft." "Turn back around and listen to the old man," i said, spinning her back around to face the stage.

She sighed, her back facing me.

"I've heard so much about the men on Earth. Such a shame you wouldn't be able to even see them once."

I yanked up my satin skirt to my knees and let a mighty kick to her bottom.

"If it's such a pity, why don't you go?" I stood staring at the ground where she laid without movement, being watching by everyone around us.

"I will if you will. It's been a while since i played my game." She smiled innocently at me from below.
