We land at the Charles De Gaulle Airport, Paris. I go join my friends who were waiting for me. We went and collected all our luggage, I had brought a complete two suitcases of dresses and a backpack with my accessories. For the first time in a long time, I was on an international trip. The last trip I had been to was somewhat like 5 years ago to Hong Kong with my late Krish. We walked out to the exit gate and counted our bags, again and again, to make sure that we didn't miss any of our luggage. We stood there waiting for a taxi. I was standing there outside the airport, stunned and freezing, admiring the beauty of Paris, while my friends were finding a cab to travel it was so evident that Paris wasn't like any other place that I had been to before. Everyone in the airport was in hurry to go to some of the other places. After a few minutes, our taxi was ready, Abhishek helps me to place my bags inside the boot. We get seated, Rachael occupied the passenger seat and I was squeezed between Riya and Abhishek in the back seat.
The beauty of Paris was magnificent, so I have heard my colleagues telling that the capital of France was something that can only be felt but not explained. I had instantly fallen in love with this place. This location has occupied a special place in my heart, and I was completely ready to enjoy and cherish each and every moment that I spend here. I looked around. Like the other places I have seen, even this city was full of people and buildings. There were trams and buses for public transport. Seeing trams in India is a line near impossible, as everyone knows to see a tram we need to travel all the way to Kolkata. I could see a lot of people on the roads. The roads were so clean.
The taxi drops us in front of the hotel. I read the name of the hotel in front of me and it says – Residence Charles Floquet. Rachael had booked two rooms and he decided by himself that he will stay with Riya and I should stay with Abhishek, it was so unfair I know that it was their anniversary but they could have at least considered asking if it is fine for us to stay with each other or should have booked separate rooms for us. How could I stay with him? I don't even know this man properly but I couldn't speak anything other than just agree to it and stay with Abhishek, though it was awkward to stay with a boy you hardly know. I was given the card for the room. I stepped closer to Riya and asked, "In a room up to 4 people can stay, then why two rooms"
"You must ask him", she said pointing to Rachael
"At the least, you could have said to me before, how can you expect me to stay with a guy I have met only once"
"Adjust for me da, please"
"What the..."
"Please, please, please for me"
"Go die, dude", I say irritated and she gives me a smile and hugs.
I placed the key card holder and the door opened, Abhishek and I walked into the comfortable and cozy-looking room. There was a balcony, high ceilings, a three-seater grey couch, and even fireplaces, the room was decorated elegantly. There was even a satellite TV and Blu-Ray player. The rooms were fully equipped and I could be completely independent here. The kitchen had a dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, and toaster.
I was so satisfied with this place. We walked towards the room and placed our bags and chose our beds. I fell on my bed and pulled the bed sheet on me. With the feeling of the warm duvet covering me I fell asleep happily. I woke up with a jerk after a dream. I saw myself playing with dogs and cutting a cake with Krish Malhotra and later fighting with him. This was a dream that kept replaying at least twice a week. I woke up and I see I was in the room safe and Krish was nowhere around to be seen, I sweating because of the dream. I got up from the bed and saw Abhishek Malhotra still asleep in his bed, he looked like a small kid, and he resembled Krish Malhotra even in this.
I walked up to the balcony and enjoyed the scene of the Eiffel Tower. Fate is playing an amazing game with me – lived my young age with no one and suddenly gave me a boy whom I liked the most and then snatched him from me, now I am here in Paris with his memories stored in my heart. Lately, I have learned that you don't always need a plan to lead life. Life has its own way and we need just accept whatever it offers, take a deep breath, calm our minds and live the present. Once we follow that, life shows incredible things, we need not have to plan the future instead just live and love the present moment for example now I am in Paris, so I should have come here with a plan right but I didn't still I am enjoying. So this is what I'm going to do just relax and let life take control of me.
By around 5 pm, I had taken a shower, changed into a fresh set of tracks suit, and dialed my dad who might be concerned about me.
"Good evening, sweetie", dad said
"Good evening", I said
"So how was your travel"
"Long and tiring"
"Had food"
"Some veg sandwich"
"That's it"
"Yeah, dad you know like there is this guy Abhishek Malhotra, I call him Abhi"
"Okay"
"He just reminds me of Krish Malhotra a lot, and I kind off feel too comfortable around him", I tell him, and then we speak for some more time discussing the beauty of Paris.
After about 15 minutes Abhishek was awake and came out of the room. He was rubbing his eyes and came and sat next to me on the couch. I offer him a glass of water which was next to me.
"Good morning sleepyhead", I mock him
"Did I sleep too long"
"Yes a little"
"Okay, is there any plan today"
"Nothing today "
"I see", he said and we chatted for a while.
