I'm at my locker putting my books back so I can get to lunch when he visits me.
"Hey you." He rests on the locker beside mine with his hands in his pockets.
"Hi." I briefly look at him before I turn back to the task at hand.
He watches me for a while before he speaks up
"You know, I just realized I don't know your name."
"I don't remember saying I wanted you to know my name."
"But I told you mine."
"And I didn't ask for it."
There was a long silence.
"You know when I heard about you, I thought you'd be this shy, timid, easily manipulated girl. But clearly I was wrong.
I slam my locker shut, but he didn't even flinch.
I rest a hand on my locker and the other, on my hips as I faced him.
"Oh please do tell, what did you hear about me?" I fake a smile.
"It's nothing for you to worry about."
"I don't know if I should feel insulted or honored."
"You should feel honored actually. Your behavior makes me feel more attracted to you." He stands upright. "And nothing," He takes a step to me. "Nothing," Another step "Easily attracts me."
We were just inches apart. The space between us wasn't much and I could see the intensity in his blue eyes.
I wanted to move away, but I couldn't. I tried, I really did. But it was like those pair of eyes glued me to my spot.
He then smiles
"I don't want to keep you here, so I'll see you soon sweetheart." He winks and walks past me.
My heart couldn't stop racing. I tried to take deep breaths, but it did nothing to calm me down.
I don't know why, but it just couldn't stop racing.
"Hey." I heard a low voice behind me and I turned.
Immediately I saw him, it was like my heart stepped on some kind of brakes and stopped.
My heart wasn't racing anymore and I suddenly felt calm.
All because of him.
"Hi." I reply hoarsely and I clear my throat.
"Are you okay?" He asks and I nod.
"How's your leg doing?" He nods to my leg.
"It's better."
"Good." Silence. "I would've asked sooner but I was busy."
"It's alright. You don't need to explain anything to me. It's your life."
"I kinda feel like I have to." He scratches the back of his neck before he returns his hand to his pocket.
What's with guys and their pockets?
"Well don't. It's really none of my business."
There was silence after that and he clears his throat before he speaks up.
"Well I better go before someone says I'm butting in her business." I chuckle and he turns to walk away.
"Wait." I stop him and he turns.
"Hmm?"
"Thanks " I say.
"For what?" He asks.
"Everything." I gesture with my hand.
I meant it. For saving me from Lisa, for kicking those guys' butt, and for stopping my heart from exploding.
"It's nothing." He paused.
It felt like he wanted to say something else but he just shook his head.
"I'll see you later nugget." He says and walks away.
