The next day before 9 am, Harry was ready and checking all his equipments one last time. His family was also there, wishing him luck.
At exactly 9 am, the portkey activated and Harry was whisked away from his home and arrived at what looked to him like someone's back garden at first glance. Instead of looking around, Harry first rolled away, jumped and ducked so that even if someone fired a spell at him he would be able to avoid it. Even if he knew that the chances were very low, he was Harry Paranoid Potter afterall.
After seeing that he was not being attacked by the people in front of him, Harry stopped but didn't relax. He looked at the man and woman, who were also observing him with peculiar and amused expressions on their faces.
" Pardon, but someone taught me to be vigilant constantly and I have learnt it very well." Harry said after he had determined that he wouldn't be attacked by them. He didn't care if his actions seemed ridiculous to them, his life was more important than that.
" You do seem to have learnt it well, mr. Potter." The woman said. Harry observed that the couple seemed to be middle aged and healthy. He could see some magical gadgets on them using his mage sight even though they appeared relaxed and harmless.
" Please call me Harry, madam. It's a pleasure meeting you." Harry said with proper etiquette, making the woman raise an eyebrow while the man still had a very amused expression.
" Let's go inside and talk mr. Potter. I'm very interested after learning that you have already completed your NEWTs so early and so perfectly." The man finally said.
Harry followed both of them inside their house while observing everything using his skill. He was surprised but didn't let it show on his face.
" So, madam Marchbanks told me that you would be able to help me if I'm upto your expectations." Harry went directly to the point.
" Hmm. Why are you so impatient about it?" The man asked making a displeased expression.
" Please don't take any offence sir. It's just that time is very precious for me right now." Harry said in a placating expression but not overly polite.
" You are not even 12 yet Harry. You have a very long life to live. Time is something that you have in plenty right now, in my opinion." The woman said.
" Time is not priced by how less it is but by how precious one can make it. I'm 11 , nearly 12. But that is what makes time so precious for me. This world is vast, but its still just one little planet in this infinite universe." Harry answered.
" Alright Harry. You can learn from both of us during this summer break if you sign this contract." Harry raised an eyebrow at that but still took it and read it.
It basically stated that Harry wouldn't be able to let others know about their identity, place of living and the knowledge without their expressed permission. After checking for any loopholes, traps etc, Harry signed it using Vörn and returned it back to them.
Now Harry was not a fool to agree so easily to all their demands, even though they were not unreasonable. But he never backed out from any contract because he knew that they wouldn't be able to affect him negatively. That was also the reason that Harry signed the contract with Goblin's where it was written that he wouldn't be able to share knowledge gained from their collection. Like hell he was going to not teach his family. He just signed it for them. And with how greedy the goblin's were, Harry didn't feel any guilt for it.
As for the couple before him, he already knew their identity before visiting them. He would not teach their knowledge and not disclose their information to everyone, but he was not going to hide it from his mom, Hermione and the girls.
After seeing that Harry had signed their contract easily, they finally introduced themselves.
" Now that you have become our apprentice, let us introduce ourselves. I'm Nicolas Flamel and this beautiful lady is my wife, Perenelle Flamel. For the ease of conversation, you can call us Nicolas and Perenelle." The man , Nicolas, introduced.
" Hello Nicolas, hello Perenelle. Thank you for accepting me as your apprentice." Harry thanked them calmly making them curious.
" You aren't surprised by our identity? " Perenelle asked.
" I'm not. When madam Marchbanks talked about it, I already had an inkling. After seeing you and specially after seeing your home, I was already 100% sure. " Harry answered with a smile.
" What did you find from our home? " Nicolas asked very interested.
" That, it is actually made from an Alchemy metal you invented, capable of taking many attacks, in case of emergency." Harry said simply but both of them were very surprised that Harry found out about it so easily just from looking.
" How did you found out about it? " Perenelle asked.
" I have studied some Alchemy before. Nothing at your level but have some knowledge about it."
" But I don't think Hogwarts had any knowledge of Alchemy left under its wall.. " Nicolas asked. Harry smiled as it was the moment he was waiting for.
He took out his own contract and slid it before them, making both of them raise their brows. They read it carefully before looking at him.
" Why should we sign this? "
" Because I only ask you to not disclose my identity or the things you learn from our meetings. It wouldn't affect you negatively anywhere. Its just to protect myself. And it will also let us converse freely." Harry said calmly.
Seeing them still hesitating, Harry again spoke," Trust me please. I could have hidden things from you and slowly won your trust but I really don't want to play these games if not necessary. I have also signed your contract." Perenelle nodded and signed the contract making Nicolas sigh as he knew her wife had already made her decision and like her good husband, he too signed it.
