Chapter 33
He stared down at Maggie. Blood trickled slightly from the corner of her mouth. He had to get her back inside, make sure she was okay. He grabbed her by the front of her shirt and hauled her to her feet. “You are going to call the repair shops and find someplace to fix my car!”He shoved her back into the building and half dragged her out of sight of the soldiers. He pressed her up against the wall inside the hallway.
“Are you okay?” he demanded. She looked a little dazed, he thought.
“I’m fine. Move it. We have only a minute or two to get to the car.” She gave Mike a shove and headed down the hallway toward the opposite end of the building. He followed.
Aidan had retrieved the rental car and pulled it into a narrow alley that ran along the side of the clinic. Mike could see the Bill was settling Kurt into the back seat as carefully as possible.
