Dear Diary

2024, 1:10

After an hour Alexa wakes up with a terrible headache. She was already famished. She hasn't eaten the whole morning. The room was empty, there was no doctor nor maids. She sat up groaning in pain due to the headache. Leaving the bed she struggles to open the door. The hallway was empty, she held the rails and came through the stairs gently finally she saw the doctor at the living room talking with a lady in glasses.

Heard footsteps. "Hey you are awake, how are you feeling?" Sam asked

"What did you do to me?" Alexa asked frowning.

"Relax, i didn't do anything harmful to you, i just injected you with sleeping fluid for you to rest" Sam said smiling.

"Who is she?" Alexa asked staring at the lady.

"Oh she is a friend of mine, her name is Lola"

"And?" Alexa asked

"And...? Oh she is here to check on you. She will be asking few questions from you concerning the way you were behaving earlier" Sam replied

"Hey Sam or Samuel what ever your name is, please there is nothing wrong with me okay. Am totally fine. I was serious earlier, you may think am going crazy but am not. I just want to leave this place. Please you have to believe....." Her stomach grumbled loudly.

The two people stared at her.

"You must be hungry, Bella told me you have not eaten anything since morning plus the sleeping fluid added to your hunger but thank goodness while you were asleep the maids has already cooked something for you" Sam explained 

"Let's not worry about that as i was saying..." Her stomach grumbles again

"Yup we need to worry, Kylie! Please serve the food!" Sam yelled 

"Yes sir" Kylie replied from the kitchen.

Alexa and the two were sitting at the dining table munching on their food. Alexa was both eating and looking around the interior The wallpapers, the lighting, the settings, decors everything was just fascinating.

(Why am i still stuck here. I wish i could go back home. How am i here in the first place. This people thinks am going crazy. Do they think am dumb? I have to act fast but i dont know anyone here)

"Please what is today's date" Alexa asked

"Today? Today is 28" Sam replied

"28?" Alexa asked 

"Yeah 28 of January" Sam replied after taking a gulp of water.

(So if today is 28 yesterday was 27 which means my case was over? Since am still alive was i pardoned, was i found not guilty, why can't i remember?) She thought to herself 

"What year is it?" Alexa asked

"Year? We are still in 2024" Sam replied

"What!" She stared at Sam with her eyes almost bulging out.

Everyone was shocked

(2024? You are kidding right? Yesterday was 27 January 1985 so what are you telling me? If i tell them they will feel suspicious of me, i have to keep cool) she blows out some air.

"Alexandra are you okay?" Sam asked

"Hmm? Yeah am okay" Alexa lied (so her name is Alexandra, but can't they see am different, am not Alexandra) she thought to herself.

"Why do yell" Sam asked 

"Yell? I yelled? Oh i was just surprised as how this year is fast, yay we are on the twenty eight" she lied

Both Sam and the lady looked at eachother in confusion.

They continued their food. After they finished the food the plates was packed and brought to the kitchen for washing by the maids.

After few minutes of silence from the three who are still sitting, Sam brought up the topic again.

"Alex the reason why i brought Lola here is to check how you are feeling. Earlier you were saying something about your name, that you are Alexa? I dont still get it" Sam said

(I can't let them think am going crazy, what should i do?) "That was a lie, i was just acting due to a nightmare i had" Alexa lied

"Nightmare?" Lola asked

(So she can speak?) Alexa thought

(Sorry i didnt mention this earlier guys, the character's thoughts will be written in bracket)

"Yes i had a nightmare, i was being called Alexa in that nightmare so when i woke up i was traumatised by it, i was not thinking straight then. Sorry i bothered you" Alexa lied.

"So you mean all that was because of a nightmare? What about the question you asked Bella?* lola sked

"Question? {She flashed back}(oh sh** what should i say? They must not suspect me) she became mute as she thinks about it.

"humm that was also because of the nightmare, i was called Alexa in a courtroom. I was being questioned by a judge, my attorney was there his name is Jason and my mum was crying behind Me she lied again

(Whoooooo, that was smooth)

1985

The smith's had a quiet nice meal and after that Jason left to attend to some things. Alex went to her new room and locked herself in without speaking to anyone.

"I need to escape but how? Do i need a seer, a magician? A fortune teller? But i dont believe all that, i cant stay here for long. Who would believe me if i said i time traveled?" Alex said pacing up and down. Her eyes caught something on the desk beside the bed. A pink diary was placed on some bunch of books. Their was a inscription "Dear Diary".

"She has a diary looking like mine?" She tries to open it but it was locked. "Why is today against me. Where could she have kept the key?" Alex looks around the room. "I don't know this place, think think think alexandra. where can someone hide a confidential thing?"

(I keep my confidential files in an underground room, does she have an underground room?) She thought to herself as she begun to knock hard on the wooden floor but she could not hear any hollow sound.

"Arrgh this is so stressing. Wait why do i find interest in her diary?"she speak to herself

(What if a secret about the case was there) she thought

"I definitely have to find the key" she search around. She looks into her cupboard. Her wardrobe. Cabinets, pillows, under her bed"

Aaaachu! She sneezed

"This is crazy" she said as she slams on the bed and stares at the ceiling after few minute her eyes were closing. And then she opens her eyes suddenly to see drawings of tiny keys line up in a straight line, she traced the line with her eyes until it reaches a desk where Alexa's laptop was. She moves closer to the desk search for the key but couldn't find it but ar the last minute her eyes caught a book with the drawing of a key. She opens some pages. 1st page, 2nd page 4th 10th and Tada a key was there With a matalic inscription "D" dangling from a loop hole

"She sure is brilliant. I applaud her" she said as she took the key and went to the diary on the desk. She inserts the key and click the lock unlocked.

she opens the diary. There were entries there and the first one was

July 6 1984 winter. No moon in the sky

Dear diary.

Today was one of the best days of my life. I didn't know i will have the courage to do this. After somany years of hoping and procrastinating i eventually did it. I kissed him!"

"What!" Alex covers her mouth 

Diary: yeah i kissed him. My childhood friend. I shared my first kiss with him. It was so sweet. I have never had this feeling before.

"Wait what? She kissed her childhood friend. Wait she mean Jason?! Oh My God? Alex yelled
