What happened after I was knocked out" I ask. " Not now. Let's talk when we have put some distance from here." We walk for about two hours. So far we have walked past a second-hand store that is in an absolute mess. A gym that hasn't been broken into. You need sporting equipment when you are in an apocalypse? Well maybe someone will eventually break into the store. I will give it time. I won't be here to see it. We see that the sun is setting. We don't need to say it. We are all tired and want to rest. Spencer points out a nice-looking house that we can settle in for the night. The house is a one-story house with 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a garage. The living room has a table with a flat-screen tv on it and ornaments on it. There are no pictures whatsoever in the room. There is a window in the back of the room. I close the blinds on the window. " You guys stay here. I am going to look upstairs." ( This is Spencer's house. He rushes upstairs to lock his room.) " Let me come with you" I say. " No," Spencer says a bit forcefully. I shrug. He is in a bad mood. After about two minutes, Spencer comes down. "It's all safe up there. The only problem is that one room is locked and I am not in the mood to make noise to attract zombies. Lily eyes the couch. " I want to sit down. Today was exhausting." I agree with Lily. We all go sit on the couch. " What happened after I was knocked out," I ask. Spencer tells the story. "We tried to come back for you but we were outnumbered. There were like 10 people there. We decided that we will come back when we were better prepared. We are sorry Andrew. You know that we will never have left you behind." I smile. " You guys saved me. I am not angry. I am grateful." Lily and Spencer smile. Lily seems more relaxed after I said that. " So what is our plan for tomorrow," asks Lily. " We traveled for a small amount, to be honest. We got delayed" says Spencer. I look down. Spencer carries on without noticing me look down. Maybe he did and he is pretending not to notice. " we are on hope on street. We still have a way to go before arriving at the border of the city and the highway. I suggest we make an early start. What do you guys think?" I consider the question. " I suggest we take the day off tomorrow. I am still trying to recover. My body is painting. Plus we don't know this side of the city and how many zombie mutants are there. Lily said they might have a routine. We saw them back near the university. We can see their routine tomorrow. I suspect that they are going to disagree with me but they don't. They smile. " I agree," says Lily. " Me too," says Spencer. Lily yawns. " I am going to bed." " You can sleep upstairs. You too Andrew. I will sleep on the couch" says Spencer. I go straight upstairs to the nearest bedroom and fall asleep. All my problems are gone for just a bit.
