CHAPTER NINE(The bullying)

School resumed soon, every student started preparing for school, those in boarding schools started preparing to go back and those in day school started buying materials for school, filling their bus card and food card.

Avil was happy about it because staying at home was quite boring she carried her projects and assignments for submission to school.

When they arrived, they noticed the weird looks students were giving her, she thought nothing of it but her brother knew that she must be a target, being a target is someone dropped your name on a red card ,you will be bullied,ignored and you became an outcaste as long as your name is up there, many groups in school will be paid to deal with you, your life in school will become a living hell, many students has transferred school because of this and others who were lucky had thier name removed or received lesser torture,it's quite rare for someone to be targeted but when he/she does they wish they never enrolled in that schoo that's why it's normally involves some bullies and gangs of the school,so if your name is there then it means you deserve it,he held her shoulder and turned her to face him "Avil, you have to be really careful from now on, I think you have been targeted but don't worry, I won't let anyone touch you okay" she smiled to reassure him, he pat her shoulder and left for his block.

Avis left but not immediately to his class, he went around asking about who staged the target on his sister but no one seem to know who,he went to a popular guy that calls himself '𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦' because if anyone should know he would, he saw the guy and his friends jesting at the back of thier class, he approached them, one of his friends tapped the guy and pointed towards him (𝘈𝘷𝘪𝘴), the guy turned back and smirked at him " Avis, decided to date me? " he wriggle his brows causing Avis to roll his eyes, " No, I wanted to ask you something... privately "

" of course anything for you babe" he signaled his friends to leave, " Am all yours now" he said giving what he considered a flirty smile "Justin, a red card has been given out on someone, do you know who gave it out? "

" yes, some dude in class A-12, but I don't know his name though what's wrong, you never cared about this things"

"yes I don't, but now I do because, the target is my sister,hey Justin can I ask you for a favour? "

' you know you can, I would do anything for you" he touched Avis on the cheek lovely, Avis adjust a little from him causing his hand to fall off his face " Justin I told you am straight why won't you give up? " Justin sighed out " Avis just give it a try, and I know deep down you are attracted to guys too, why dont you give me a chance, huh, if it doesn't work out, I will quit"

" Justin it won't work out, just stop talking about it, please "

" okay, but am not giving up, now tell me what's your request, let me start earning some brownie points " he grinned at Avis who smiled at his childish act " please can you reject the order, the target is my sister and she is still new in this school, am sure she didn't offend anyone "

" okay, I won't accept it but it doesn't mean that other groups won't, I will try and protect but she should be careful, I can't always guide her"

" thanks Justin, I appreciate " he then left, Justin stood there staring at his departing back with heartache '𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘧𝘰𝘳 love' he said in his mind.

Avis was relived after his talk with Justin, he trust that he will keep his promise, when the time for volleyball practice came, he went to his locker and started preparing.

Avis wiped the sweat on his head as he drank his water, some girls were seated on the bench swooning over him, you can't blame them though, Avis is a tall, beautifully handsome guy with his blue eyes and silver hair that shines like diamond when the sun rays hits it, he winked at the girls causing them to squeal loudly " show off" his best friend Austin scoffed, Avis sticked out his tongue towards him and he laughed, suddenly the door to the court was banged open, the sound echoed all over the court, everyone's attention went towards the intruder, Avis felt a bad promotion on seeing that it was one of Justin's guy, he thought maybe it's about his sister and that thought was proven right by the boy's next words " Avis, it's your sister, she is at the infirmary, Justin said you n... " Avis ran out before he could finish his sentence his best friends and the boy followed him immediately without wasting another time.

Avis could feel his heart thomping against his chest, he was scared, if his sisters was at the sick bay, it means things were worst than he thought, he rushed into the room, seeing his sister laughing with justin who was lying down with a bandage on his arm, his heart calmed down a little, he approached them slowly " hey bro, what are you doing here,i thought you have practice? "

" I did till someone said you are here, what are you doing here" he paused "with him? "

"oh, bro this is Justin, he saved me earlier on my way to the library" Avis looked at Justin who was grinning at him, he ignored him seeing he was okay except his bandaged arm, "what happens to you that needed savings? "

" a flower vase nearly fell on my head earlier today, he pushed me away and unfortunately his arm took the hit"

" okay, Avil, you should go back to class now, I will stay with him, don't worry, and please be careful " she nodded her head ,bid her goodbyes at Justin and left, Avis turned to Justin and said " thank you for what you did for my sister, I don't know how to thank you "

" you can thank me by agreeing to date me, simple, aren't I considerate? " Avis rolled his eyes at him, he sat beside him" does it hurt? "

" no it doesn't, do you wanna try" Avis laughed

suddenly the door was opened to show Austin and the boy that sent the message, they all stayed with Justin for some time before leaving to finish practice.
