CH 0.1 - Prologue (I)

Frank, an Immortal, inhaled deeply as he surveyed the horizon, his thoughts consumed by recent developments. While Immortals were known for their stoicism and emotional detachment, Frank was not immune to feeling.

The news that had stirred his emotions was of great significance: the devouring of the Sun and Moon by the wolves Sköll and Hati had resulted in the deaths of Sol and Mani, two Immortals who had embodied celestial bodies, and the destruction of the Sea Seal that contained Jormungand, the Dragon Behemoth that was deep within the ocean.

These events marked the start of the Universe Prophecy, a foretold event that held immense weight in the realm. Though the occurrence of the prophecy was inevitable, Frank was taken aback by its sudden realization, particularly so soon after his ascension.

However, Frank viewed this as an opportunity to inject new meaning into his eternal existence. He had grown tired of his solitary existence, seated atop his mountain domain, and longed for excitement. With the arrival of the prophecy, he saw a chance to engage with the realm in a new and dynamic way.

As an Immortal, Frank had existed for a countless number of years, and had forgotten the concept of time. But he was determined to make the most of this moment, to explore the realm and revel in the thrill of life, both mortal and Immortal.

Frank was once a mortal, born into a world of great power and potential. Much of his past had been lost to the sands of time, but fragments of his memories remained. He remembered his youthful aspirations, his unwavering commitment to the cultivation of his abilities, and his purpose - to protect the world and its inhabitants from the threats of other giants.

He had been an upright and virtuous being, traveling across numerous Cosmos Worlds in search of knowledge and experience before arriving at the Sacred World, where he now resided.

Despite his immortality, Frank found the existence of an Immortal to be monotonous and lacking in the character and emotions that he cherished from his mortal life. He chuckled to himself, acknowledging that being a mortal and facing the inevitability of death was a more desirable fate than being an emotionless, controlled Immortal.

Unlike Frank, many of his peers had lost their Seven Emotions and Six Desires upon attaining immortality, leaving them as cold and detached beings. Frank found their company to be unbearable, as he could not relate to their lack of passion and drive.

In his mortal life, Frank had been ambitious, striving for greatness and even having a harem of women. But after attaining immortality, his harem had become indifferent, and they eventually separated from him.

One unique aspect of Frank's immortality was that he was able to maintain his Seven Emotions and Six Desires, which was something that was not possible for other Immortals. Unbeknownst to him, however; this was a result of his unique physique, which allowed him to maintain his humanity even in his immortal form.

To combat the boredom that came with immortality, Frank divided a portion of his soul and sent it to a Dimensional-level world or below, where he could experience mortal experiences through his fragmented soul. Such practice was unknowingly also increasing his strength, albeit at a slow pace.

The Sacred World, which Frank currently inhabits, was the highest level of existence in the Cosmos and was inhabited solely by humans of the Sacred Immortal Venerable Realm on one side and the Behemoths of the Giants' Race on the other. Each time someone ascended to the Sacred World, they were greeted by the servant of the First Immortal, who would explain the origins of the Universe and the individual's mission in the grand scheme of things.

When Frank first arrived, he was greeted by Odin, who was the son of the first two humans in the lowest mortal world and the First Immortal to ever emerge. Upon learning this, Frank challenged Odin to a battle, determined to prove his worth as a descendant of Ask and Embla.

As a Sacred Immortal Venerable being in the Sacred World, Frank was acutely aware of the roles and responsibilities bestowed upon him and his fellow Immortals and Behemoths. Engaging in combat with another being of their kind was strictly prohibited, unless the Universal Prophecy was imminent. The purpose of their existence was to ensure the smooth fulfillment of the prophecy, a task that filled them with both fear and awe.

Despite the monotony of his eternal life, Frank found solace in the interactions of his soul clone with the mortals in lower worlds and in meditating for centuries at a time. At times, he even indulged in playful banter with other Immortals and Behemoths, albeit at the cost of a slight physical toll.

Frank no longer had any need for cultivation, as the Sacred Immortal Venerable Realm had granted him immense power and a lifespan equivalent to that of several worlds combined. As he had learned from his personal engagement with Odin, the Sacred Immortal Venerable Realm was also the final destination in the cultivation journey, offering him no further opportunities for growth.

But that didn't mean they couldn't perish. They could live as long as the universe does; but other causes of perishing would make an Immortal similar to a mortal; having a chance of transcendence.

Frank was shocked when he learned of the breaking of Jormungand's seal at a conference of all Immortals, held every 10,000 years. The conference served as a platform for both Immortals and Behemoths to discuss current events and potential threats to their world.

Although combat was forbidden between the two races, both sides were secretly building armies for the upcoming Universal Prophecy, where their fate would be decided.

Due to the ominous nature of the prophecy, both races knew that their final battle was inevitable. However, internal strife was discouraged as it would only hasten their downfall. This led to a fragile peace between the Immortals and Behemoths.

Frank, with a desire for action, decided to venture to a Cosmos-level world where Jormungand was unsealed. Upon arriving at the dragon's lair, Frank was stunned by the sheer size and power of the dragon. Jormungand's body was expanding, encompassing the entire universe, and his venom-laced teeth were capable of poisoning even an Immortal to their demise. The dragon's jaws were large enough to swallow an Immortal or Behemoth whole, making Jormungand a formidable opponent for anyone brave enough to challenge him.

Frank approached the lair of Jormungand, the Dragon Behemoth, with a sense of awe and trepidation. The beast's massive body was still expanding, and its size was beyond imagination - so vast that it could encircle the universe and hold its tail in its mouth. Its jaws were filled with venom-dripping teeth, capable of poisoning an Immortal to death, and were wide enough to swallow an Immortal or Behemoth whole.

Despite the overwhelming odds, Frank was not deterred. He was bored and seeking a challenge, and the prospect of becoming one of Odin's troops in Valhalla was not appealing. The Universal Prophecy was a foregone conclusion, and he saw fighting Jormungand as a way to prove his worth before the end.

However, as he approached the beast, Frank sensed that something was amiss. He felt his heart race as he attempted to draw the surrounding energy, but he noticed that the closer he got to Jormungand, the weaker the energy became. This realization was a shock to Frank - if Jormungand was able to affect the structure of the surrounding energies, it would render spells ineffective against it.

Frank now understood why Jormungand was dispatched as the main element of the first onslaught in the Universal Prophecy. Without the ability to utilize the surrounding energies, any Immortal or Behemoth would be powerless in its vicinity.

Frank's expression shifted to one of alarm as he realized the situation he was in. He quickly scanned the area with his Centralized Eye and was stunned to find that the distance between him and Jormungand's rapidly approaching tongue was quickly closing in. The speed at which it was moving was beyond anything he had ever encountered, surpassing even that of Immortals or Behemoths.

His mind raced as he processed the predicament he found himself in. He quickly realized, however, that his soul's energy was unaffected, and still pulsing with the same potency as before. Breathing a sigh of relief, Frank harnessed the power of Source energy to replenish his physical body.

Source energy was a rare and powerful energy that could only be cultivated under extreme conditions. As it flowed into his body, it sought to destroy it, but Frank's body, tempered by the Sacred Immortal Venerable Realm, was able to absorb it like a tonic, rapidly filling himself with energy.

Frank's realization of the Source energy was a pivotal moment in his battle with Jormungand. This technique was a rare and powerful method used by a select few warriors, including Thor, to defeat the massive beast. It was the only energy that Jormungand could not negate, and it allowed the user to leave a lasting impact on the creature.

Frank's mastery of the Source energy allowed him to unleash a barrage of powerful attacks on Jormungand, with one orb-shaped wave striking the beast's spine and leaving it vulnerable. Despite its immense size and strength, Jormungand's roar of pain and surprise indicated that Frank had caught it off guard with his newfound power.

However, the battle was far from over. Jormungand was not a creature that would die easily, and its withdrawal of its tail from its mouth only signaled the buildup of a more potent energy within its spine.

As Dagnatock began, chaos ensued....
