First Day Of School

Students in school uniforms walk towards a big white building with a huge gate while chattering

A dark skinned girl with dark red hair and dark red eyes stand and looks at everyone "It's a new school year, but it doesn't look like anyone has gotten stronger"

A girl voice: "Kaannnaaaa!"

Kana: "hm?" she looks to her left

A girl with blonde hair in pigtails jumps to Kana and hugs her

Kana: "Oh! Mio!"

Mio looks up at Kana revealing her light blue eyes "I've been so lonely over the summer vacation"

Kana pets her head "you say that every vacation"

Mio: "Huh? But it's true"

The chattering of the students stop as they see someone walking past

Kana looks to the right

Mio looks to the left

Kana sees someone walking into the building "Who was that?"

Mio: "I have no idea"

Footsteps echo through the hall as the students stand to the sides of the hallway staring

The door to a classroom opens and the class stops talking then looks at the door

Akemi's thoughts: "Seems I've gotten unwanted attention"

Akemi sighs

Boy 1: "Did we have someone like that in our class before?"

Girl 1: "I don't think so, I would have remembered someone like that"

Girl 2: "Must be a new student"

Akemi walks past everyone and towards the lone desk in the back of the classroom

A boy with black hair and black eyes turns his head slightly to the left as Akemi walks toward him "Hey...You might not want to sit in that seat"

Akemi ignores the boy and walks to the desk then looks down at the writing on the desk

Writing on the desk "Fatso, go die, why are you alive, stupid pig, abomination, pork face, I hope you died, finally you're dead, go to hell, powerless, useless, creep"

(*Insert Insult here*)

Akemi grits his teeth "All of this...Just for being born without any talent or power..." he sits at the desk

Boy with black hair: "What?"

Girl 1: "That seat!"

The class chatters

The door opens and a woman with short black hair, black eyes, glasses, a purple coat hanging from her shoulders, a white shirt with a blue tie, a black skirt and black heels walks into the room

Woman: "Okay, everyone settle down"

The students stops talking and looks at the teacher

Ms. Taka: "First off, welcome everyone to a new school year, I am your homeroom teacher Aria Taka, please call me Ms.Taka"

Girl 1: "Wait, thee Aria Taka!?"

Girl 2 looks at Girl 1 "Is she famous or something?"

Girl 1: "You don't know? Aria Taka is a famous alchemist that has won all kinds of awards across the globe at the age of16 do to her vast knowledge and transmutation skills. She has even been offered the title of president of the alchemist guild. Also, she is very powerful in battle."

Girl 2: "Really? Why is a person like that at our school?"

Girl 1: "I want to know too"

Ms. Taka: "Now, for the new students I'll start with an explanation of our school and current status" she pushes up her glasses "As you may know this school is called Minha Academy, one of the big five schools for hunters in japan, everything here is top quality ranging from education to technology and training. But, on a power and popularity scale Minha Academy is at the bottom of the five schools and usually this is students last pick out of the five, does anyone know why?"

The class sits in silence

Ms. Taka: "Anyone?" she looks around "well, to put simply this school is the weakest" she picks up a piece of chalk "allow me to explain what I mean. Each year there is a tournament between the big five schools to decide which position they will take from first to last"

A boy raises his hand

Ms. Taka points at him with the chalk "Yes?"

Boy: "Um, why does rank matter so much?"

Ms. Taka: "Good question, to put simply the ranks depend on the quality of the school, technology, education, food, training, environment of the campus. The better the rank the better the quality, moreover depending on the rank of the school you graduation from, you can join a big and accomplished guild."

Class: "Oh~"

Ms. Taka: "Minha Academy has come last in every tournament for the last 10 years, so we are further behind than the other school. But, don't let that discourage any of you, we can always win next year's tournament, and we have a full year to prepare you"

Girl: "Is there a requirement to join the tournament?"

Ms. Taka: "Hmm there is but, that can come later" she erases the board "there are more important matters" she points to the door "What is the letter of this room?"

Girl: "I think it was D"

Ms. Taka: "precisely, does anyone know why?"

Girl 2: "Um, doesn't that represent your power in the school?"

Ms. Taka: "Correct, it represents your physical and magical ability, comparing it to other students and placing you in a class of a certain letter that represents that. This school is based around a hierarchy from strongest to weakest, it goes from S to D" she slams her hand on the table "and this class is the weakest in the entire school, so therefore your quality will be much lower than the other classes and your freedom throughout the school will be limited"

Boy: "Wait, what? That's unfair!"

Ms. Taka: "Everything in this world depends on rank, rather it's a king to a farmer, a CEO to an employee or a general to a foot solider, and this school is no different."

A drop of sweat comes from the boy's head as he sits back

Ms. Taka: "But you will have an opportunity to change your rank" she sits down "every 3 months there is a tournament held in the school arena where the lower ranks fight to raise their ranks and the higher ranks fight to keep their ranks" she picks up a book and opens it "but for now, let's take attendance"

Akemi rest his head on his right hand and looks outside of the window

Akemi's thoughts: "this school is trickier than Lian Xu's memories led me to believe" he sighs "so I guess ranking up should be on my list of priorities now"

Ms. Taka: "Lian Xu!"

The class looks around

Ms. Taka: "Is he not here today?"

The boy with black hair and black eyes raises his hand "Um, Ms. Taka"

Ms. Taka: "Hm, your name is Yuuto Daiki right?"

Yuuto: "Y-Yes!"

Ms. Taka: "What is it"

Yuuto: "Lian Xu, won't be showing up anymore"

Ms. Taka: Oh? Why is that?"

Yuuto: "Um, well last year there was an incident where Lian Xu jumped from the school building"

Ms. Taka: "Is that so? I think that was over the news, I didn't think that was him, I guess I will take his name off of the list then"

Akemi raises his hand "pardon."

Ms. Taka looks at Akemi "Yes? Who might you be?"

Akemi: "My name is Lian Xu"

Yuuto turns around "Huh?"

The class turns around and looks at Akemi with their eyes wide

Class: "WHHHHAAAAATTTT!!?"

Intermission *BADABA*

Ms. Taka: "You're Lian Xu?"

Akemi: "Yes, is there something wrong?"

Ms. Taka: "None" she looks at the book and back at Akemi "Good to see you are alive and well"

Akemi: "Thank you"

Yuuto stares at Akemi

Yuuto's thoughts: "That's Lian Xu?" he thinks about Lian Xu "But he looks so different"

Akemi looks at Yuuto

Yuuto quickly turns around

Later

The bell rings

Akemi looks from his desk then towards to door and his eyes widens as he sees a girl with short black hair and red eyes . he stands up angerly "Ai Huan!" he walks towards the door

Ai Huan steps into the class and looks at Akemi "Oh, Lian Xu! You managed to survive that graceful jump from the roof" she laughs a little "I don't know why made a weakling like you come back, but losing a little weight and getting slightly more handsome is not going to win me back, you are still-"

Akemi walks to Ai Huan and stands in front of her

Ai Huan's thoughts: "Huh? Was Lian Xu always this tall?" she looks at Akemi

Akemi: "...Move..."

Ai Huan: "W-what?"

Akemi looks down at Ai Huan with emotionless eyes "you're in my way, wench"

Ai Huan starts sweating and steps back "w-wench? you've gotten quite the mouth on you" she steps to the side "I- I'll let you go for today but don't think this is over, you hear me?"

Akemi walks past her and down the hall

Akemi's thoughts: "Over? No Ai Huan, this is far from over"
