Chapter 49. Rey 3

Rey took his stance once again. His shoes now had five holes each on their soles. He held the sword and again he spoke the words as his breath calmed. His eyes glowed like they were burning in a yellow flame.

"INFERNO FLAMES: FIRST FORM, SCORCHING SLICE," Rey spoke as his sword lit up. His muscles clenched and he sprinted forward.

From where he had been standing, one could see the toe marks and as he stepped forward, the grass was not that lucky and was pulled out. With the same speed as before, he swung his sword and the deer sensed the incoming threat. A fire dome surrounded it amd Rey struck the dome in a curve-like manner.

The dome did not bulge but it got a crack. Though, he was pushed five meters away as he skid on the ground further ruining the sole of his shoes. He stepped back few meters as he took his stance.

Same as before, he calmed his heart and cleared his mind. His grip on the handle tightened that he felt his hands redden. He took a deep breath in and let it out after five seconds.

"INFERNO FLAMES: SECOND FORM, REAPER'S SLASH," Rey said and his sword lit with a deep yellow flame that seemed to cause the air above it to burn. His speed increased almost three times and the serious look on his face did not appear like Rey.

The fire dome had been recreated and it appeared stronger. Even the deer on the other side was not clearly visible. Rey reached the dome ad slashed horizontally in a meniscus way but he was pushed back even further.

His palms hurt and so did his wrist. The dome was now like a sturdy and impenetrable wall. He skid on the grass and he dipped the sword into the ground and stopped instantly. His frown deepened and his eyes became a narrow slit.

He had only one form left for the INFERNO FLAMES. He took his stance once again and he breathed in. After five seconds, he breathed out and,

"INFERNO FLAMES: THIRD FORM, SLICE OF LIFE," Rey said and his sword glowed with an even deeper yellow flame and shot forward.

His speed only someone with the lightning element could match. He swung the sword when he was five meters away and slashed diagonally. A stream of fire flowed from his sword headed for the dome and struck it.

At the same time, he reached the dome and struck it with his sword and it crumbled. The deer stepped back and built its momentum and charged at him.

Rey who had not not expected to be charged at suddenly was caught off guard as the deer slammed its horns to his chest raising him two meters and it rushed to slam him to tree.

Rey was stuck between the horns and the sword was lightly held in his right hand. His hands had been separated by the horns such thet they could not reach each other. He could have jumped off but a horn branch had entered inside his shirt and was protruding on its neckline.

He could have lifted himself up but the hands were trapped at the armpits and lay loosely. It was like he had been crucified.

What he did not realize was that he was now blocking the deer's vision with his legs and it was enraged.

When he got bearing of what was happening it was too late. The deer galloped and he was like in a rollercoaster where his body kept slamming into the deer. Maybe the worse nightmare was when he saw where the deer was leading him.

Desperate to regain its vision, the deer was running towards a tree. Rey swallowed as he calmed his mind to think. If he panicked in this situation was certain death. Yes! Was he not a fire elementalist?

He thought fast and instantly covered his body with fire and started burning the shirt. The shirt weakened and unable to support him it tore and he fell from the deer. The deer missed stepping him with its hoves with mere millimeters.

The deer felt the weight it had been carrying fall off and it stopped ten meters away from him. It let out a roar that came out as a cry.

Rey stood up and looked at his t-shirt. He was lucky it was not fully destroyed. He stood up and he could feel his chest ache at the point the deer had made contact with him.

He stood up and looked at the deer standing ten meters away. It was time to take this seriously. He held his sword and took a different stance. He spread his legs and lowered his body and inclined his back forward.

He gripped the sword tightly and held it infront of him pointing directly into the sky. His hands seemed to reveal green veins that appeared on his hands. His biceps seemed to bulge out slightly and his leg muscle clenched.

His feet sank slightly around a centimeter into the ground. His sword was directly infront of him and his sword separated bis face symmetrically into two halves at his nose. His eyes were narrowed and his look appeared very serious.

"INFERNAL FLAMES: FIRST FORM, HELL FLARE," the words left Rey's lips as his eyes glowed with a reddish flame. Same for the sword. The sword lit up with red flames. These flames were hotter than the yellow flames.

Rey charged and his speed surpassed that of a person in the first stage and was lightning elementalist. The deer which had suddenly charged at him surrounded by flames, paused when it lost track of him.

Rey knew just how taxing this technique is but it was all he could use now. He swung the sword diagonally when he reached the deer and slashed downwards. He stopped ten meters behind it and dropped on his knees as he took in deep breaths.

One leg was kneeling and the sword was struck on the ground and he supported himself with it. Taking deep breaths like someone who had been drowning. He smiled lightly knowing he had succeeded.

The technique was a success if he appeared behind the opponent. That would mean he had successfully killed it.

The deer paused when it felt something hot run through its body. It could sense the enemy behind it. It could not understand where he had gotten that speed from. He was going to be a tough opponent.

It was yet to process what had happened and it turned its head to look behind. It was then that it felt a liquid fall to the ground but it never processed what happened and what that liquid was before its body halves slid past each other and crumbled on each other.

After aroumd one minute, Rey had caught his breath and he stood up headed towards the dead deer. He was ready to start turning the meat into ash. He sliced a leg and and started burning it. In ten seconds, the meat was already turned into ash.

Rey knew one thing about survival and that was persistence. He chopped off the other front leg and started roasting it, no, burning it. It took less than ten seconds for it to fall to the ground as ash.

Rey sighed and chopped a hind leg. How was Alaric doing it so well and he was not even a fire elementalist? He burnt the leg and he just smiled sheepishly as he chopped the last leg. And in five seconds, it was ash.

His eyes appeared like flames at the moment. Was it even possible that everytime he tried to roast it it turned to ash? Of course he had never cooked before but did that mean that he was never meant to?

This life was about going against one's destiny and defying the heavens like Alaric had said. If his destiny was to never cook then he was going to spend his life going against it. But at the moment he was angry due to his failure.

His eyes which had been shining with a red flame turned dark. It appeared like he could not see whatever was infront of him. This was his special flame. Born with the darkness element also, his flame had evolved to the black flame.

Deer was not a perfect subject. He was wasting his time trying to cook low level beasts. That was the reason he kept burning them instead of cooking them. He consoled himself with those word and he burnt the rest of the uncooked meat with the black flames.

He instantly regretted. The core... In a moment of anger, just like Alaric, he had destroyed the core. This did help in fueling his anger tenfold. He had destroyed his first evidence of a completed mission. He roared and some birds flew away.

His blood boiled. His heart palpitated and his eyes lit with black flames deep inside. His grip on his sword tightened as he beat the ash. He was angry and he needed to vent that anger. Woe unto the innocent trees.

In the next thirty minutes, he had cleared almost five hundred square meters worth trees. But his anger had not lowered the slightest. It had risen twice due to the incompetent trees. He looked t the area he had cleared bit he felt like clearing the entire forest.

One thing he failed to notice was the fact that there was no beast around which was odd. He was too carried in his rage that he had lost his clear mind. He kept laughing like a maniac as he roared every now and then.

"Where the f*ck did you all run off to? Silly beast. Show yourself or I will wipe out your entire home," Rey shouted as his anger further rose. Were they running away from him? If that was the case, he was going to run after them.

He climbed one tall tree and looked around and saw a bunny. He smiled as he jumped down and ran towards it. By the time he reached it, it had sensed him and had burrowed into the ground.

He was infuriated. He climbed another tree but whenever he saw a beast, it would run away before he reached it. It was the fourth day already and he had not fought a single beast. They all ran away when they saw him. He was now resting on the base of a tree that was a meter wide.

In the past three days, he had lost all his rationality and he had gone pretty deep into the forest. He did not seem to realize it but he was in the regions of beasts of the fourth stage. With all his rage, he was looking for any beast to vent his anger on.

He laughed maniacally when he saw one that did not run away when their eyes met. But if he was still thinking straight, he would have been running away on his own at top speed even use the technique.
