After he ran to a sideways alley, Vikram put Virat in the car, then started driving.

Virat fell asleep in his seat. Vikram stopped the car on the highway, then picked up Virat, and stored the car in inventory.
He ran to where their tents were.
Vinod was waiting for him. their mother was asleep, along with the two girls.
Vikram placed Virat in the tent they prepared for him. Virat woke once when Vikram picked him up from the hospital, another time when he picked him up from the car.
Amidst this chaos, Vikram had forgotten that he had put his phone inside the inventory. As was the rule with the Dimensional space, unless a specific connection is made, other electrical devices will not work.
