Imminence of Fate

Alan who was on the verge of dying, transmigrated and transfused on somebody's soul. The person he gets soul transfused is also known as Alan! What powers did he get? System? Skill bonuses? Neither of those don't exist, but magic is more used in this world! author's note: Sorry, I can't continue this novel. I had to understand how literature works cuz I'm clueless. Think of it as a draft idea of mine that I will use in the future. You can take some inspirations from this novel, my original idea of this novel is trash, honestly speaking. I want originality from my work. Wish me luck. I hope you too.

Chapter 3: The knowledge of other self is useful

"Pardon me. My name is Alan Sagea, son of Leanne Sagea. I wish to speak to you."

"Very well.", "Certainly", "Of course"

A voice of a young woman, an old grumpy man, and a nice lady spoke at the same time. The maid from inside opens up a small door for communication.

"What do you wish to ask?" Said by the grumpy old man that peeked from the small door

"Ah. No sir. I just want to say I apologize for our village guard's commotion. I'm very sorry for what happened."

"You should do! We are now behind schedule! How we are supposed to attend on Duke Maltran's matchmaking party? You useless piece of shit speaking to me like that, commoner. Now open up the gates and make way for us!"

"My dear, that's harsh. Don't speak badly in front of our benefactor."

The grumpy's wife seems to be a caring lady, reprimanded her angry husband.

"Ah! Where are my manners"

The noble lady opens the carriage's door, showing the beautiful face of hers, the annoyed grumpy Viscount, and the daughter that wears a veil. She shows a typical noble etiquette and bows to Alan.

"I am called Vernac, from the house of Natross-Marisa. I am married to Viscount Melchor Vonn Atreides, my husband here. This is my daughter, Salle, she turned 21 and not married yet."

"I see. Nice to meet you." Alan bowes in respect.

The Viscount's wife, Vernac, continues to speak and stated her concerns

"We are worried that our daughter won't be married to any noble house sooner. That's why we took Duke Maltran's matchmaking party as an opportunity to find her a husband, It seems we're in desperation to do so. The bandits are rampant everywhere, they are cunning like rats. They're really targeting nobles that are going to the Maltran's territory. I hope that we will travel safely."

"Well, can't you just hire more Adventurers or mercenaries? That'll make you feel more safe." Alan unconsciously said those words.

(oh yeah, generic typical Isekai things.)

In his mind, he suggests that he was on the world with a typical Isekai things like those on the novels.

Leanne finished dealing with the Adventurers and understood the situation. She heard her son saying nonsensical words. Frightened, she slammed her son's face into the soil.

*puhak*

"I apologize to my son's improper presentation. I hope you forgive us."

"That's okay. He shows more noble etiquette than the man I know. Do not worry." But Vernac glances at her husband with a smug look.

"Tsk."

Leanne grabbed Alan, kowtowed and apologized to the Viscount's wife but she was refuted. Vernac praised Alan for his proper etiquette despite being a commoner. The grumpy man seems to be irritated but he didn't say any word further.

"Again. I apologize that I can't accommodate you now. I will go to the adventurers guild in Normos town and report your situation. The bandits become more pesky to deal, they're multiplying. I had to gather information about this bandits, they might just a new ones or surviving ones from the old bandit groups that we subjugated 2 years ago."

"Thank you, Leanne. You are really reliable adventurers I've ever known."

Alan who was there for the whole time, finally said something,

"Mother, Can you stop pushing my head to the ground? I can't breathe." Leanne was surprised, she released Alan.

"Fuuhwo. Thanks mom."

"Then excuse me, my lady."

"Same to me, Ms. Leanne. Safe travels."

Leanne briefly bows and she left immediately through the southern road. A distance from Artheos to Normos is around 45 minute-walk, the only closest town from the village.

"Viscount Atreides, and his wife, Vernac Natross-Marisa. I, the village chief, Osmond Artheos, welcomes you to my village. I apologize to my village guard's unacceptable disrespectful act. As an exchange, we will accommodate your stay to our village's house that might seem small to your likings, and food supplies that your cook will use. I hope you will accept my offer as a form of apology."

"We accept your offer, respectable village chief. We are also apologizing for not letting you know our visit in advance. We know that you are not part of any territory because of your history and a title with an equivalent of a Duke's rank. We are honored to meet our nation's hero. We are grateful."

"Ah don't flatter me, that's all from the past. I'm old and senile now. I'm just here to accommodate, your grace."

The village chief, Osmond guide the Atreides to their accommodated small villa that least they can rest.

Meanwhile Alan, resumes his aimless roaming around, felt bad and mentally drained.

"Haah. I'm tired. Mom's not gonna go home until night. Even though I try to cook, it'll go waste since she'll just buy a take-out food from her favorite tavern here in this village. Haah."

"Oh my oh my. Is this the little Alan? What's troubling you, my boy?"

Osmond noticed Alan passing through his house and called the young boy.

"Oh! good afternoon, village chief." Alan greets and pay respects to Osmond. He wants to ask an advice but he changed the question,

"Say, village chief. I want to learn Fosstoka. I'm bored and there's nothing I can do. I want to read and write. But rather, I want to go to somewhere! Hey village chief, can you teach me? Please."

"I thought you don't need it. When you are younger, you refused to write nor going to temple, not even listening to the priests who teaches it."

*Uwwaag* "Oh yeah. I remember now." Alan now fully remembers everything, he was a slacker. He is angry to himself because regrets for nothing.

"Still, you have a year and a half to finish your basic education program by the Theas priests."

"Oh. I see. That's still a lot of time left! I have to learn everything." Feeling excited, Alan was recharged from feeling bad to himself.

"Fosstoka is not just you have to learn for. You need to learn at least a basic magic. I might send you to the witch of the forest since she's the only person I know that can teach magic without needing a blessing from the goddess Theas. You are two years past from your age to receive one. But, are you sure about this? A failure cannot be tolerated."

Alan thinks carefully and assess the information from his mind

(Osmond Artheos. Despite this village has so many people, he knew everyone. The witch he talks about is the cruel witch he fought and become a comrade a long time ago when he was a young hero. The witch's name is Milanni, she knows a lot of magic. Rumours said that she is a high-elf descent as oppose to that she's also a half blooded demon. The village chief Osmond sent many young boys and girls to her place in the woods to train magic but only few of them learned it. The last two person he sent is my father, who became a battle magician that later died from the war I didn't know, and my mother who failed but she becomes the one of the strongest female adventurer in this nation. The witch is way knowledgeable than Osmond, that's why he respects her. Knowing all of this means I can conclude that it's not that a harsh teaching and training. Hell yeah! Let's do it!)

After Alan lost on his thought for a while, he comes back to his senses and becomes eager to learn something, Magic.

"HELL YEAH!!!!" Alan louded in excitement and raised his right fist. Osmond, on the other hand, face palmed in pity.

"Then. When your mother comes back at night, I'll let her know. Depends on her decision, I will send you there tomorrow morning using my teleportation magic because no one can enter her sacred place except for me. Okay?"

"Yes, village chief Osmond. Thank you very much! I can finally learn magic! Really thank you very much. Can I call you grandpa?" Osmond smiled in agreement.

"Why not? You're basically my indirect disciple now. But since I'm old and senile, I want your uncle to teach you how to use a sword more seriously."

Alan waves his hand disagreeing Osmond suggestions.

At night, Alan was on the top of the roof enjoying the night skies filled with stars.

"I wonder where is the Solar system and the Earth. I kinda miss Earth... What the hell am I thinking?"

He saw a silhouette coming to his house. It was Leanne, his mom. As expected, she brought a take-out food from the tavern in this village but she brought too many. Alan jumps down from the roof and surprisingly he wasn't hurt but rather it felt natural.

"What the-" his mom shocked and almost lost her posture.

"Hey mom, welcome back. Why do you bring too much food? Give me those, I'll carry it."

"Oh, thank you. The adventurers insists me to bring out a lot food I can but I can't accept that much food. I don't want us to get fat."

"Haha"

The mother and son went inside the house and feasting the food she brought.

Alan cleaned up the plates and everything while his mom is sitting on the couch, relaxes herself from exhaustion of her job.

"Hey mom, did the village chief told you?" Alan deliberately asked.

"You want to learn magic? Yes? The elder did said it to me. Why now?"

"Why what mom?"

Leanne concerns about her son for being too late to do those things she never forced to her son.

"I mean, that's unexpected from you. I began to notice that you changed a lot since you got that headache. Did somebody possessed you?"

"No. I just realized how useless am I." Alan outright said those words with no hesitations. Leanne didn't replied.

"Anyway mom. What is the witch looks like? What training does looks like? Tell me tell me!"

"Ah... you can see it for yourself. We were both sent there when we are just 8 years old. It was hell. If your father was still alive, he might be blazing at anger now. I can't remember exactly what's the reason. Either way, it is hell. But despite of that, our 8 years of effort are paid off. I respect the witch's free tutelage to those who are willing to learn from her. Even though I failed, I learned the demon arts from her. I'm grateful."

Alan finished the cleaning, sat besides to his mom.

"That's a handful of words mom. I kind of have a gist of it. Thank you mom for allowing me for this opportunity."

Leanne didn't answer then she hugs Alan.

"I hope you succeed and receive a tutelage from the witch."

After they spend a wholesome family time, they went to their rooms to sleep.
