Winter Leaving

'Ugh, what... happened?' I thought as I felt a pain coming from my head.

Slowly I opened my eyes and saw a strangely familiar room, it felt like I faintly remembered it but just couldn't fully remember, kind of like trying to remember a dream.

Putting my hand to my head I pulled it back when I felt it get wet and saw that I was bleeding, but that wasn't what concerned me.

What concerned me was that my hand was small and slightly gray, and everything was... larger than what I remembered.

"What?" I murmured while looking at my hand. Slowly, I began to hear static and my vision blurred until I fell backward onto my back.

'Wha...' My mind slowed, and everything felt like it was in slow motion until everything suddenly exploded. I knew who I was, and who I now am. It was as if my thoughts went from 0 all the way to 100. I was sluggish and could barely think enough to breathe, and then everything was cleared.

Two dead souls became one. The combination of two people, one a young adult male from another reality, and the other a young girl left by herself at the end of the world. Both died from unfortunate events that in all rights should be impossible.

The young adult male died from a lightning strike, the young girl passed away from a piece of her roof hitting her head, and now somehow both souls have united.

Opening my eyes I leaned forward and felt liquid dripping off my chin. It was tears mixed with the blood that was falling from my head.

"Shoot gotta fix this" I muttered in my new higher-pitched voice. Almost tripping on my feet I felt my head throb, and it felt like I was trying to move in a boat.

Blinking a few times, I gathered myself enough to see a large metal pole with a dent in the middle covered in some blood on the floor. Stumbling forward I looked around my? Yes, my shack, and found a clean towel before pressing it to my head and sitting down.

I could feel the strong breeze blowing in from the cracks in the wall of my poorly built shack but it bothered me little as my mind was a mess.

I am Marceline Abadeer in the land of Ooo, and my father Simon just left me by myself as he was going insane. I was also a young adult who died from a lightning strike as soon as he left his house after a long night of watching Adventure Time.

A young adult who had nothing special in his life besides being an aspiring... something? I was smart I think. 'Ugh! What was I?! I know I was a loser who watched a ton of anime and cartoons but what else!' I harshly thought before scrunching my towel even harder.

My mind felt like it was splitting, and the only thing that kept me grounded was the pain I felt from the large gash on my head. The memories of both of my lives fought to take control, and this felt like it was going on forever until something just clicked.

One side of my memories gained some ground, and my other side lost a little before both gave in to each other and just coexisted.

"Or well, that's what I hope it was" I muttered under my breath as I saw the sky was darkening outside. When I first put the towel on my head it was still bright, so I must've been here for a while.

'Well, I am in Adventure Time now, and I am Marceline Abadeer the future Vampire Queen, and current Princess? Yes, Princess of the Nightosphere.'

Standing up I pushed my thoughts aside and looked at my run-down shack before walking over to my bed and sitting down.

Looking at my wall I saw two pictures of Simon that I drew, my father figure in this world. The man who cared for me like his own daughter, and the man who fed and saved me multiple times.

'The man who is now gone...' I thought bitterly before remembering something. Both of my memories were shouting at me about something that has yet to come.

"Simon said that he will send someone to make sure I am safe, and that person is my real dad... Hunson Abadeer, the ruler of the Nightosphere." I began talking to myself before padding my head and feeling it already begin to heal.

Being surprised, I reached around under my bed by instinct and found a small broken mirror before looking in it. 'Oh wait yeah... I have always been a fast healer.' I thought to myself as I stared at what once was a large gash in my head was now completely scabbed over and already beginning to heal.

'Bet when I wake up in the morning it will be completely gone.' I thought before my mind traveled back to Simon being gone.

"UGH!" Shaking myself out of my depression I grumbled in a high-pitched voice. "This blows, I don't remember ever getting this depressed in my other life, whatever though... I guess."

Laying back down on my bed I felt the covers with some holes torn into them and pulled them over me. I literally have nothing better to do except sleep right now, as hopefully it will clear up my mind and make me feel better.

Although I can tell my mind is more clear, and my personality less messed up than earlier, I feel like I need some time to cope with these changes.

'Goodnight Simon...' I thought to myself as I pushed my surprisingly silky black hair out of my face and closed my eyes. Instinctively I reached over and grabbed a doll... No, my doll, Hambo, and snuggled with it.

My thoughts began to slow down as I breathed in and out. I could still feel the bitter cold air pushing through the holes in my wall but I ignored it and had one last thought 'Goodnight... old world.'

========================================================

(*New Day*)

'Ugh... what happened? Oh, wait... yeah that.' I remembered the extremely confusing day I had yesterday but felt much better than I had the other day.

Everything felt clearer, I felt younger but with a new outlook on life. 'Guess I really did need a good night's rest, isn't that right Hambo?' I looked over to Hambo who I was holding in my arms.

"Yes, that is right Marceline~ Everything is better now with some sleep!" I playfully mimicked a voice for Hambo before shaking myself out of my stupor from feeling a grumble come from my stomach.

Putting Hambo down I slid the covers off me and shivered. From my memories I knew I was much more resilient than normal people were from everything, including the cold. Maybe it has to do with being a half-demon, but it didn't bother me as much as it should have.

Unfortunately, that didn't change the fact that I was half-freezing and was hungry. 'Really hungry...' I contemplated the actions I could take before finally throwing the cover completely off me and standing up.

Walking over to the corner of my small shack I pulled out a can and a small propane fire kit from a basket. A gift that Simon gave me before he left, sadly when he gave it to me I didn't know how to really use it.

Luckily, my new memories have a great deal of information about camping gear and technology as I used to be an engineer. 'Or I think I did? Was I? Yeah... Yeah! I was!' I thought happily as I recalled that information doing a small fist pump before setting up the propane stove made for camping.

Pulling out a can of chili I heated it up before looking around my room again. I built this within 4 days of Simon leaving, and although it wasn't great I trusted Simon to send someone over to help me, so it wasn't built to last.

'But I don't like that fat pole in the middle of my room.' I debated just throwing the pole which killed me outside, but I knew that I needed that to help keep the roof up.

"Jeez, it was purely coincidental that my shack didn't collapse." I grunted before stuffing a spoonful of chili into my mouth. "Yeah... better fix that." I quickened my eating pace before standing up and throwing my now-empty can out the window.

"Alrighty Marceline! Let's get this fixed, whoop whoop!" I shouted cheerfully before suddenly stopping.

Looking around my room I suddenly stared at the ground, fiercely concentrating on my train of thought before lightly hitting my head with my fist. "Whoops, forgot it oh well." I shrugged before going over to the large metal pole.

It had a large dent in the middle with a splotch of blood on it, but it could probably hold up the roof just fine.

'Let's put that engineer brain to work' I thought before struggling to recall some memories of my other life. It took a minute but everything I looked at was in a changed perspective and I saw just how dangerous everything was.

"I see why I could die from this now..." I thought before looking around at everything. The walls weren't set up properly, the ceiling was one strong breeze from collapsing inwards, and the floor had nails sticking out of it.

'Still pretty good for a few-day project, but let's fix this ceiling first.' I went to the bent pole before looking around the room and finding a suitcase.

Moving the suitcase under where the pole fell, I stood on top of the suitcase and set the pole back in the spot I made for it. I struggled some and fell once from the weight of the pole before I finally got it put in the slots I made for it.

Pushing the pole upwards I watched the ceiling rise back up to a height that wasn't slightly saggy, and quickly I hopped off my suitcase and reached in to grab a roll of gorilla tape.

'I will never see this brand again will I?' I thought sadly before unraveling a decent bit of tape and wrapping it around the pole, attaching it firmly to the two holes in the wall that it was slotted into.

It took about 30 minutes total to fix my shack roof, and once I was done I slumped down on the suitcase and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Well Hambo, what do you think? Good work right?" I looked over to Hambo before nodding sagely acting as if he gave me some wise advice.

Standing up from my suitcase I pushed it into the corner of the room again before standing happily in the center of my shack.

"Yep I did some crazy good work on this shack, I hope nothing bad hap-" I was cut off by a large axe chopping through my wall.

"AHHHHH! IT'S JOHHNY!" I shakily jumped back screaming, staring at a giant red axe chop its way through my wall.

"Marceline! Long time no see!" A tall person with slicked-back black hair and gray skin shouted as he shoved his face through the hole before he continued to chop at the wall making a large hole through my wall.

"HEY! QUIT THAT!" I shouted at the figure as he continued to kick a hole large enough to walk through my wall before he stepped inside, smearing mud and snow everywhere.

"Some goober with glasses summoned me, what's that thing? Just gonna put this here okay?" He pointed at Hambo wondering what it was before smashing his axe through my floor, leaving a large hole with a giant red double-sided axe in it.

Taking a look at him I noticed how scary his figure really was, he was at least 6 feet tall with snake-like eyes and pointy ears. Beautifully polished red boots, and wearing a perfectly tailored black suit he looks like the devil.

He took a short look at me before grinning and walking forward. His snake-like eyes scanned the entire room in curiosity before raising one leg stiffly and slowly moving toward my wall.

The figure who I identified as Hunson Abadeer completely ignored me cowering by the window before shouting "Now let's go suck some souls!" and kicking down the entire wall of my house, all the while laughing evilly.

"Wha-what?" I teared up a bit as I stared in disbelief at my now recked shack. "So... this is what I forgot... Huh." I muttered sadly as I now knew what I had forgotten.

Hunson Abadeer, who walked fully outside turned towards me and cheerfully shouted.

"Come on Marceline! It's time for some father-daughter bonding time! Those souls won't suck themselves!"

'Yup, I'm officially an idiot for forgetting this.' I depressingly thought before slowly turning towards Hunson Abadeer, AKA my dad, and glaring at him.

"WHAT THE HECK DUDE!?" I screamed flinging my hands to my side as I thought about how much of a pain my new future was going to be.

=======================================

(A/N: Hey fellas, sorry if I don't update my stories often but when I watched Fionna and Cake I really wanted to write a new adventure time story in the perspective of an OC Marceline.

I would've continued my Ice King story but I got butthurt that they stole my entire idea for what I was gonna have Simon become, besides turning PB into a Crazy Candy, they pretty much janked my entire thoughts of how I was gonna design Simon.

Anyways hope you like this, I didn't really explain much of the OC's past as I will eventually go into more details, but really I want to make this fast-paced. Wanna jump right into the action so its fun to read, and write.

Have a good day!
