"Well, sometimes, we don't need to speak often to love someone. I just love you and that's-"
"If you are serious about what you are saying, then you have made a big mistake. I am only a general here and I do not desire to have any relationship with anyone here, especially you."
He said to her, and immediately hurt by his words, Daphne remained motionless for a few moments as she processed his words.
"But-"
"Listen, I don't feel the same way about you. Besides, this would never be allowed by his majesty. If he even hears about this, you will be in even more trouble. So... you shouldn't have come to say this to me."
"I am not interested in love or whatnot. I have no interest in romantic relationships. I don't even make friends, so I still don't understand what made you think I would respond to your feelings."
He shook his head at her and, having not expected such a harsh response from her, Daphne breathed heavily and shut her eyes, trying to calm herself down.
"I just thought..." She stepped back in deep pain and rapidly fluttered her eyes. "Oh, God!!"
She exclaimed and quickly rushed out of the chamber with tears bubbling up in her eyes.
She ran past Yennefer, who was hiding by the pillar closest to the chamber and rushed towards her chamber.
Yennefer stared at her disappearing back, and a look of pity emerged on her face.
As a woman, she knew how hard it was to confess one's feelings to a man, so if anything, her pain was justified.
A slight breath exited her mouth, and with a sudden annoyed expression appearing on her face, she walked out from beside the pillar and stood in front of the guards.
They looked at her, and knowing that she was under Luthiel, they slowly opened the door for her.
She walked inside, and they shut the door behind her.
"Hey!!" She yelled, and a bit startled by her unannounced presence, Luthiel, who was about to wear his shirt, turned around to look at her.
"You are awa-"
"You cruel animalistic human being!! How could you be this cold-hearted? Huh?!"
She scowled at him and, confused as to what she was babbling about, Luthiel looked at her as she stormed towards him.
"What are you talking about?"
He inquired, and Yennefer frowned at him.
"Seriously, You are so relaxed after what you just said to her?"
She questioned, and now seeming to understand why she was acting like a mad woman, he raised his brow at her.
"You were eavesdropping or what?" He asked, and now even more aggravated, Yennefer angrily stepped on his feet, expecting him to hiss in pain, but completely unphased by her small feet matching him, he looked at her with a frown settled in between his brows.
"Such small feet." He commented and now enraged, Yennefer's face turned completely red like a tomato.
"You moron! That is not the point here! The point is that you hurt a woman who actually took the courage to confess her feelings to you!"
"Even if you don't like her at all, you could have told her in a gentle manner that didn't consist of harsh words, but nooo, you are not the type to do that!"
"Do you even know how hurt she is by your cruel words? It might not concern you, considering the kind of horrible person you are, but what you did is very bad. You really hurt her."
She scowled at him, and Luthiel slowly tilted his head to one side.
"Are you done?"
He questioned, and Infuriated by the fact that this was all he had to say, Yennfer raised her fist to punch him in the face, but he, however, caught her by the wrist and glared at her with a darkened expression on his face.
"You seem to have forgotten my first rule! Don't you ever touch me or even try to, because I will hurt you more than I did yesterday. I might actually kill you."
"You see, killing is a very easy thing for me, and coupled with my horrible anger, you should be careful with me."
"I am, as you said, a very terrible animalistic human being, so you should know that if I kill you, I won't even regret it one bit!"
He threatened, and, unphased by his threats, Yennefer burst out into laughter.
"You think that you are the only one with anger issues. Wait till you witness mine."
She laughed hysterically and snatched her hand back.
"Mr. Luthiel, pay close attention: I am more than you think. You don't know what shit I have gone through in two lives, so I am basically the definition of evil."
"Don't let this funny side of me fool you, because I don't really think I am any different from you. Maybe a little bit, since I have human sympathy."
She clicked her tongue and moved closer to him.
She stared him dead in the eyes and a grin slowly crept up her lips.
"What am I trying to say is...don't you ever threaten me like that again or else. I have had enough of people threatening me like I am some dirt they could walk over."
"You were able to hurt me yesterday because I honestly didn't expect you to be that inhumane, but next time I won't lose without a fight."
She declared, and for the first time since she came to know him, she saw a smirk form on his face.
"You are exceptionally cute when you are trying to be tough." He half smiled at her, and the grin on Yennefer's face instantly faded.
"What do you mean by that?" She questioned, and he began to walk towards her, causing her to start taking a step back, till her back eventually hit the wall.
"Wha-what are you doing?" She stuttered, and Luthiel placed his hand beside her head on the wall.
"Ohh... Someone is scared now. Wasn't it you who was being tough a few moments ago? Oh wait, it was the same you that was crying like a baby when I had her in mid-air yesterday.Tsk tsk."
He shook his head at her, and Yennefer flapped her eyes at him.
She parted her lips to speak, but he immediately grabbed her lips with his fingers and pinned them together, preventing her from uttering a word.
"Don't even say it, because it is the opposite of what you think."
"You are absolutely not my type. You are reckless, clumsy, very talkative, and highly irritating. You are not my type of woman, so don't even let your mind go there. I'd rather marry a ghost than even think of you. Disgusting!"
He clarified and, immediately infuriated by that last word, Yennefer slapped his hand away and pushed him.
