Chapter 7

(Rian’s P.O.V)

Wait, did she just say she wanted to go out in our wolf forms? She just shifted for the first time yesterday and wants to do it again today?

Hell yes, I get to meet Winter now!

Yes, you do, but there will be NO mating between you two. That will just traumatize Morrigan.

Of course not! I’m not THAT out-of-control human, I can contain myself…. for the most part.

Yeah, I’m not even going to bother to list all the things you’ve done that prove that statement completely wrong.

Stark huffs indignantly in my head and proceeds to basically flip me off using his tail.

“Okay, then Princess. Let’s get outside and shift so you can show me this favorite place of yours. I have extra bands that you can tie around your ankle so you can keep your clothes with you after you shift.” I state.

Morrigan squeals in excitement and takes off running towards the forest behind the palace. It was so amazing seeing her this excited over something, and I can’t wait to see her face light up when I take her back to the kingdom at the end of the week. We reached the forest edge and I explain how to fold her clothes and tie the band around her ankle. As she walks behind a tree, I strip down and fold my clothes, attaching them to my ankle. I feel Stark coming forward and I’m suddenly on all fours, my hands are now paws and my skin is now covered in fur that is as black as pitch. I hear the pop of a bone and a slight whimper coming from behind the tree that Morrigan chose.

This shift won’t be as painful as her first, but it will still be unpleasant.

Do you think we should go over there?

I think we should. We’ll bring her and Winter comfort, and hopefully, that will ease her pain.

With that said, Stark walks over to the tree and we see Morrigan on the ground in the middle of her shift. Stark rubs his nose along her face to soothe her and then lays down next to her as a show of support. After a few minutes, Winter is lying where Morrigan once was. Her white fur glistened in the sunlight and made her almost blend in with the snow. Stark licks Winter’s nose in a show of affection and gets up, nudging her side with his nose to indicate that she needs to get up. With surprising quickness, Winter is up and begins to dart off into the forest leaving us behind.

Umm, what the hell just happened?!

Our mate is playing with us and she’s about to win if you don’t get your head out of your furry ass!

With a growl, Stark takes off after Winter, following her scent since we lost sight of her, and man is she freaking fast! I didn’t think that anyone could match me for speed, but apparently, she can. Stark finally catches up to her after several minutes of trailing behind and nips at her tail, making her yip in surprise. Our wolves continue to run for what seems like mere minutes when Winter comes to a stop before a meadow. She goes behind a tree and shifts back to Morrigan. Taking her lead, Stark hands me control and I shift back and pull on my clothes.

“What is this place, Princess?” I called out.

“One second mo rí and I will tell you.” She replies.

Wait, she just called me a pet name! If I weren’t the Supreme Alpha and I wasn’t afraid to embarrass myself, I would probably be squealing like a teenage girl over Nsync right now. Morrigan comes out from behind her tree and holds out her hand for me to take. The tingles shot up my arm and I could feel whatever tension I was holding leave my body as she led me towards the clearing.

“This is the Light Meadow and it’s one of my favorite places in the kingdom. Each of these flowers, when they open, releases soft colored light. These were created by both the Light Fae and the Nature Fae for one of our Go Raibh Maith Agat festivals for the Goddess Danu, thanking her for the gifts she has bestowed upon the Fae.” Morrigan says.

We walked to the center of the meadow and after a few minutes of waiting in silence, the flowers began to open, and you could see soft hues of colored light emanating from them. Pink roses released a soft pink light, purple Irises emitting an almost light shade of lavender, and yellow daisies giving off a light yellow. As the flowers continue to open, the meadow becomes almost like a kaleidoscope of color or some shit like that. Don’t ask me to describe this kind of shit, I’m a guy for Goddess’s sake. It is beautiful though, and I can see why this would be a place that Morrigan would love.

Kiss her, be romantic!!!!! Stark begins chanting in my head.

With Morrigan’s hand still in mine and a serene smile on her face as she looks at all the colors that are surrounding us, I pull her to me and crash my lips to hers. My arms encircle her waist as hers climb from my chest to around my neck, effectively pulling me closer. I traced her bottom lip with my tongue, asking for entrance, which she willingly gave me. I can’t help but plunge my tongue in her mouth, as she rolls her tongue with my own and she lets out a small whimper and her arousal begins to fill the meadow. I know that I should stop, our first-time mating should be at home in our kingdom, but I’m not sure how I’m going to survive the week. I break the kiss, allowing for her to get some much-needed air. I touched my forehead to hers and took a deep breath, smelling her arousal mixing with the scents of the flowers.

“We need to stop, my love, or I will take you here and now in this meadow,” I told her.

“Mmm, I wouldn’t mind that, Alpha.” She replies with a smirk.

If my dick wasn’t hard before—which it was—it surely is now after hearing her call me Alpha in such a seductive way.

“Baby, you are really testing me right now.”

“I know but you’ll get through it. We should probably start heading back to the palace, it’s getting close to dinner time,” Morrigan says.

We shift back into our wolves, having tied our clothes around our ankles again, and race back to the palace.
