Chapter 4: trusting and misunderstanding
- at the Faucette bakery-
"Here you go Miss Brown that will be 20$" said George to his neighbor that came to buy some pastry
"Thank you very much George and how many times do I have to tell you to just call me Lisa" said Lisa and handing him 50$
"Alright and here is your change"
"Thank you, oh I almost forgot to ask you something"
"What is it?"
"Do you like raisins?" said Olivia and giving him a smirk
"Sure?"Said George not knowing where this was going but he was 100% sure he wasn't going to like it
"Then how do you feel about a date?" Said Lisa flirtatious
Quick info: You see Lisa brown has been into him even before he was married to his first wife (Rachel) and up until now too
"Miss Brown i-"
"Yeah yeah the same I have a wife and bla bla bla, but that didn't stop me before it's not gonna stop me now"
"Just stop-"
"Whatever" said Susanna cutting George off and left
-10 minutes later-
"What's with that face dear?" said Martha entering the store
"Oh nothing dear just that Miss Brown was here and....never mind"
Martha just signed she knew where this was going
George quickly picked up her expression and said "don't worry I-"
"It's ok, she is the problem and doesn't know how to take a hint it's quite childish" said Martha not wanting to talk about it further
"Ok.....um did you need something?"
"No I just wanted to see how you're doing" said Martha smiling
-at the end of the day/work-
"Goodbye Alexa," said both Eliza and Adrienne
"Goodbye girls see you on Monday"
'Man I am hungry' though Alex but she ignored the feeling later after that her phone ranged and she was surprised to see it was from her boss
"Hello sir"
"Hello, Alexandra are you at the company?"
"um no, sir I just left should I come back?"
"If you could I am at the company's cafeteria "
"Alright, sir I am on my way" and with Alex walked all the way back to the company good thing she didn't walk that far
-time skip-
"Sir?"
"Ah, Alexandra you made it!"
"Yes sir and may I ask where is your neck holder?" asked Alexa with a worried voice
"Oh I couldn't show up to my date with that neck holder on my neck now, could I? And I am sorry I called you back here" said Peter with a worried voice
"Oh no sir it's no problem"
"Yes, it is. Also, I have a present for you," said Peter handing her an envelope
"Sir what is this?"
"This is a little present you can buy something wonderful for your father"
"Sir I can't accept this I-
"You should, I made you work a lot more than you should for the past 2 months, you came to help save the files even tho it was your day off, you stayed with me at the hospital until late at night and a lot more things, so please take this and congratulate you, father, for me ok?"
"As you wish sir," said Alexandra not really wanting to take the envelope but she couldn't refuse
- a moment of awkward silence-
"Um....sir wouldn't it have been better if you invited her to an actual restaurant instead of the company's cafeteria"
"You are right but I really wanted to avoid the reporters and paparazzi"
(Susanna is a host of a show for youngsters and Peter is the CEO of a successful company so basically, they are both pretty famous)
"Oh right, you made a wise choice"
just then Peter's phoned vibrated
"Oh she texted.....she will be here in 10 minutes!"
"Alright then I better go, my father, is properly worried"
"Very well, give him my regards. Oh, and can I ask for another favor?"
"of course "
"Thomas doesn't know about my relationship with Susanna because he was in France so please don't tell him anything. If Susanna and I made up tonight Thomas must not know about anything, when the time comes I will tell him slowly slowly myself. Ever since he started working in the company he has stood against me far too many times, whenever I decide something in the company he goes against it. He doesn't think I know what's best for the company"
"Yes sir I noticed"
"Well, what can I say it's obvious that he wants my seat as the CEO so if he knows about my relationship with Susanna he will get crazier than he already is now. That's why I don't want him to be involved in this right now. Yet I ....Alex I really love Susanna and I am sure she does too"
"Of course sir you don't have to worry your secret is my secret you can count on me"
"I know I can"
"Well have a good night sir"
"You too and thank you for everything"
"Your welcome sir"
And with that Alex went to wait for the elevator but suddenly someone appeared behind her and
"AHH" gasped Alex "Mr. Wolcott you scared me," said Alexa hiding the anger in her voice
"What is it Miss Faucette did I scare you?" said Thomas smiling smugly at Alexandra
"Well of course you suddenly appeared behind me"
'And if we were at the streets I would have sprayed pepper in your eyes or better yet punch you're the face'
"Whatever, I caught you in the act" smirked Thomas
"...Pardon, but what did I do to get caught?" asked Alex confused
"I should have known from the begging, the way you talked to each other that, it was kinda obvious"
"I still don't understand what you are talking about," said Alex
"You treat me 10 times worse that the amount of good treatment my father receives from you"
"Ok?"Alex wasn't sure why he brought that up
"You come out of the boss's room smiling and do as you please, stop manipulating that poor man"
"Mr. Wolcott please, talk more clearly" at this point Alexandra was hella confused
"You have been caught tonight, the game is over, come on admit it, say what's between you and my father? when did this love story begin?"
Alex literally exploded with anger she was too close to send that guy to the hospital, she used all her energy to hold back "Mr. Wolcott think clearly before you say such nonsense things, I won't allow you or anyone to say something inappropriate about me or the boss"
"I don't ask for anyone's permission to speak my mind, I saw everything with my own eyes how you laugh and talk together"
"Open your ears and listen clearly to what I am saying, there is nothing between me and Mr. Wollcot you have misunderstood everything"
"Oh really? and what about that date you just had right now?"
"Mr. Wolcott is like an uncle to me, I only joined so he won't be alone and I am not the person that he asked on a date"
"Alright, then who is it?"
And speaking of the devil the elevator opened reviling Susanna Adams coming out so what did Alexandra do to prevent Thomas from looking back at the elevator?
Without thinking she quickly cupped Thomas's cheeks and..................forced him to lean down to her height and said with a deadly serious voice
"Mister Wolcott when you are talking to me look at me in the eyes ok?"
'WHAT KIND OF EXCUSE IS THAT ?!?!?!?!?!!?' shouted Alexa in her mind
"Miss Faucette, what are you doing?" asked Thoma he was shocked, confused, and a little angry by that action
"Well...didn't I say look at me"
"Please remove your hands "
"Ok just a moment," said Alex and turned to see if the coast was clear
it was Susanna sat with peter and they were talking
"Quickly remove your hand," said Thomas bringing Alexa back to the situation she and Thomas were in.....and with that she quickly removed her hands and there was an awkward silence..... as soon as the elevator was opened Alex went in and left leaving Thomas hella dumbfounded
-the Faucette house-
"I am home"
"Welcome sweetheart how was working? are you hungry?" said George
"Work was fine... I guess. Actually, it was wild and No I am not hungry I ate outside"
"Alex do you really think I don't know you are lying"smirked George at his daughter
"No, I don't even know why I try" chucked Alex
"I am just not hungry that's all"
"Sweetie you know I won't let you sleep with an empty stomach," said George and handing her a sandwich
"Okay," said Alexa defeated and ate her sandwich while she and her father talked about whatever came to their mind and when she finished the sandwich they went upstairs, said goodnight to each other, and when they went to their room
Alex heard her father scream she quickly went to see what happened and she screams herself
