I Will Love You In This Life

"You lowly commoner." That phrase was the only thing he remembered before his death, but that didn't affect him at all because, in the end, he would go back in time and live in another loop. Ares Trasven, a name that the tyrant gave him after he took him as a slave and threw him into the basement so he could learn how to serve for the rest of his life. He was raised and fed so he could become the tyrant's daughter's plaything. Alexandria Valtris, the daughter's tyrant, was the symbol of destruction and chaos. She was so evil that everyone wanted her dead. Ares served her all his life until her death on her 21st birthday by poisoned. Ares was so thrilled and happy about her death that he realized that he was poisoned as well. He woke up and it happened again, he was picked up by the tyrant. Tortured, starved, and brainwashed again for the second time. The third time... The fourth time... The fifth time... "Prophecy? What kind of bullshit is that? You made her that way..." Ares scoffed with tears in his eyes. "Alexandria... I will love you in this life..." Ares said as he wiped his tears.

Build a friendship.

"You should know about who I am based on the attire that I'm wearing, and you might think that I'm here on the behalf of the Archduke, but I'm not," Ares said as he stared at Soviar. "I'm here on behalf of the young lady I serve," he continued.

Soviar furrowed his forehead and looked at Ares with confusion. "Alexandria Valtris?" he asked.

Ares just nodded.

"I shouldn't have taken this gold..." Soviar said as he stared at the pouch. "But since I love money, let's hear it,"

Ares squinted his eyes and crossed his arms. "What do you know about Alexandria Valtris?" he asked.

"Huh?" Soviar raised his eyebrow. "Of course, I have heard a lot of bad things about her in the social circles that I'm in. Her hatred toward commoners is something that nobody can ignore and her unstable emotions are also off the chart. I heard that she brought slaves and tortured them whenever she wants until they die," Soviar answered.

Ares nodded. "And what's your personal opinion about her?" he asked.

Soviar was a greedy man but he wasn't a stupid man, he would stay neutral no matter what happens. His view of the world he was living in was to gain money and zero enemies, it sounded impossible but he did that. He could make both sides of the party depend on his information that they didn't want to lose him. In this case, he looked at Ares and he knew at that moment he didn't want to make him his enemy.

"My opinion?" Soviar asked as he leaned on his chair and crossed his hands. "I have no opinions because I don't know much about her and I have no reason to poke into her private life especially knowing who her father is," Soviar answered.

Soviar squinted his eyes and stared at Ares for quite a while. "You're not asking me to get rid of her, right? You know that if you're asking me to do that, you're asking the wrong person," he said.

Ares slightly smirked and let out a short sigh. "Well, you're not entirely wrong," he answered.

Soviar was so confused that he tilted his head.

"As you said, her hatred towards commoners isn't something that can be taken easily. I need your help to make her understand what the real world is like," Ares continued.

"Okay? How am I supposed to do that?" Soviar asked with his eyebrow raised.

Ares rested her hands on the table and leaned forward. "You won't be scared of heights if you haven't felt the pain from falling, right?" Ares said with a serious expression.

Soviar knew exactly what Ares meant and he immediately covered his mouth and rubbed his cheek with his hand. "You want me to traumatize her?" he asked.

"No, I want you to make her understand that a human being can be dangerous no matter who they are," Ares answered.

"I think you didn't hear me right, Sir knight," Soviar said as he stood up and threw the pouch on the desk. "I'm good at manipulation, I can break a person mentally but not physically. You're asking the wrong person for this and you can get your gold back," he explained.

Ares grabbed another pouch from the back of his waist but Soviar shook his head and crossed his arms. "No, no, I don't care how much gold you're going to offer, but this is something that I don't want to play around with," Soviar said.

"No, this isn't for you," Ares said as he put the pouch on the desk. "This one is for you," he pushed the pouch that Soviar threw. "But this one is for your friend," he pushed the other pouch on the other side of the desk.

Soviar just furrowed his forehead with confusion.

"Your friend, she's able to do this kind of work, right? I could go to her directly but I believe she wouldn't take my request," Ares said. "But, if you convinced her about this and just tell her that I will handle the rest on the scene, she would accept this pouch," he explained as he looked at Soviar.

Soviar leaned on the wall behind him and glared down at Ares. "Who are you? How do you know a lot about me?" he asked.

Ares stood up and fixed his attire as he looked back at Soviar. "Let's just say that I want to build a friendship with you and your friend because I have what you want and you have what I need," he answered. "I'm not trying to do anything to harm you and I can promise you that. I just want us to be friends and see what kind of things we both can achieve if we work together," he continued.

Soviar squinted his eyes and kept staring at him. "What is your goal by doing that?" he asked.

"I want to turn this empire upside down, not by force but with power and influence," Ares answered seriously.

Soviar laughed and covered his face while he shook his head. "That's really funny, coming from you who's only a knight,"

Ares just smirked and glared at Soviar. "Give me time and I will take over the empire, give me five people and I will shake the whole world,"

Soviar laughter disappeared and started to think that Ares was a crazy guy, but the more he looked at him, he started to get interested in him. "If that's what you think, I would love to watch and see if you're truly capable of doing that or you're just some crazy guy," he said.

"So? I have the golds on the desk, are you going to accept my request or not?" Ares asked.

Soviar grabbed both of the pouches and smirked at Ares. "I will take mine and give this one to her, but once I took this gold, it's no longer my business whether she's going to accept your request or not, right?"

Ares smiled and nodded. "Of course, but I do hope that you can convince her because it's an easy job and I will handle the rest on the scene as I said earlier,"

Soviar sat down and put his legs on the desk. "I will try my best, and I will send one of my men to inform you,"

"Okay, you can just use your usual method to send a message, the message should be there in three days, right?" Ares asked.

Soviar chuckled softly and nodded. "Yes, three days,"

Ares nodded and then decided to leave. "Wait, before you leave, how can you have so many golds? Is knight of Valtris really that rich to get paid with a bunch of golds?" Soviar asked.

Ares turned around and smirked. "If you want to know the answer, why don't you ask your other friend to see me, the one from the tower? He might be interested in the answer as well,"

Soviar smiled and shook his head as he closed his eyes with disbelief. "Can I at least know what's your name first?" he asked.

"Ares Trasven," Ares replied then he left the room.

Ares went back and looked through the window that Alexandria was still busy with the measurement while she was picking the materials for her dress. He snapped his fingers again and Alexandria suddenly turned around to look at Ares from the window. Ares just smiled at her but Alexandria just looked at him with disgust and immediately looked away.

Hours had passed and Alexandria finished with fitting for her dress, she came out with Nadia and Vanessa followed her from behind. "Where do you want to go next, my lady?" Ares asked.

"I'm done here, I want to go back home," Alexandria answered.

"Are you going to come back here, later, my lady?" Ares asked.

"Of course, I will come back here next week and check on the dresses I ordered before they finished it," Alexandria answered. "Stop asking questions, I'm tired and I want to go back to the mansion," she continued.

Ares bowed his head and immediately opened the carriage door for her then sat next to the coachman and went back to the mansion.

On his way back, he saw Soviar leaning on the wall while he was staring at him, Ares just smiled at him and ignored his presence.

"That's him?" A woman with dark red hair covered the left side of her face with her bangs.

"Yes, that's him, his name is Ares Trasven and I heard a lot of things about him," Soviar answered.

"Huh? That's Ares Trasven? He looks so young with the rumors that have been going on about him and his achievement in the war against the Laustasia Kingdom," The woman said.

"I agree, but I hate to admit that this guy is an interesting fellow. You might like him once you have a conversation with him," Soviar said.

The woman scoffed. "You think that I'm that easy?" she asked.

Soviar just chuckled softly as he watched the carriage left.
