Unfolding Chaos 3

Word by word was woven onto the paper to express an apology for one's mistakes. Ken Hijikata wrote an apology letter after completing his report on what had happened during his encounter with Malakar. He still blamed himself for his incompetence in the fight against Malakar, but he had no intention of surrendering and was determined to keep marching forward to defeat him someday.

Without Ken noticing, the clock was already showing twelve o'clock, which was his designated time for a break and lunch. As always, he asked to take a break and headed to the cafeteria. There, he could enjoy his usual lunch while checking the news provided by the adventurer's guild. The news was typically fresh and up to date.

"Hot news, hot news, take your newspaper and don't miss our up-to-date news about The Great Elven Forest!"

Curious, Ken immediately rushed to the newspaper vendor and grabbed a copy. He trusted the adventurer's guild's information immensely, as they were fast, reliable, and open to the public without interference from any kingdom officials. Thousands of reports were loaded into each daily edition.

After flipping through the pages, Ken finally found the recent news about The Great Elven Forest, which had been mentioned by a guild member earlier. The results were unbelievable. Ken widened his eyes in shock at what he was reading. Despite the greater crises the world was facing, The Great Elven Forest had made a much bolder decision than they had during the previous Four Kingdoms meeting.

One of Ken's subordinates then rushed towards him, carrying reports from the kingdom's official staff. He greeted his captain and promptly handed over the report. However, as Ken turned, the subordinate assumed that Ken was already aware of the situation, given that he was already reading the news.

One week later, inside the grand dome of The Great Elven Forest, Arch Hydrangea, the second heir to the King of The Great Elven Forest, announced her inauguration as the new ruler. The officials of The Great Elven Forest were present to witness her speech and celebrate the rise of the new monarch. Media representatives from each kingdom's Adventurer's Guild were also in attendance, bringing their Snappers to capture this pivotal moment in The Great Elven Forest.

Representatives from each kingdom entered alongside Arch Hydrangea, accompanied by their secretaries or right-hand aides. The Kingdom of Arcaeloria sent Major General Narma Stallion, who attended the inauguration with his secretary, Dome Marchellin. The Beastman Tribe sent the King's heir, Leona the Merciful, along with her butler, Gibli the Honest. Lastly, the Kingdom of Valhalla sent the Central Knights Captain, Adam Antares von Scorpio, with his right hand, Sylvia Luna Selene, a human who had ascended to the sky.

The representatives from each kingdom walked in sync as they entered the dome, following the customs of The Great Elven Kingdom. They were treated to a variety of traditional dishes from The Elven Great Forest as they took their seats in the front row. The meals, mostly made up of vegetables and leaves, posed a challenge for Leona, the representative from the Kingdom of the Beastman Tribe. However, her butler discreetly reminded her to maintain her calm, even if she felt unintentionally slighted by the tradition, especially as she would soon succeed her father.

A man with an ephemeral aura stepped onto the podium, walking elegantly while surveying the crowd with quiet enthusiasm. His long, flowing golden hair cascaded over his shoulders, and his sharp, captivating green eyes complemented his tall, powerful posture. He was the very embodiment of the elegance and strength of the elven race. Most of the audience knew who he was, but few recognized his accomplishments, as he had always remained in the shadow of his brother.

"People of Arcadia, I trust this gathering finds you all in the finest of health, both physically and spiritually. My name is Faerion Thalorion, the second son of King Elion Thalorion and his successor. I am deeply grateful for your willingness to attend this modest gathering to witness the inauguration of the new king.

People of Arcadia, as we all know, chaos has emerged from the darkness once again. The sky turned red, a foul dark creature came out from their hiding place, approaching the sun as they have no shame after living in the dark for so long. And the worst of all, The Evil King has returned, together with his worst spawn of all, Malakar the Star Tamer. Prolonged power vacuum may not be tolerated.

Our beloved king, my beloved father, The King Elion Thalorion, is a wise man. His judgement towards every crisis this world has faced never been mistaken. Our kingdom thrived thanks to his struggle and his great judgement, taking every decision carefully. He is also the man who stepped back, avoiding battle against The Evil King in this era.

I believe with his judgement, I honor his decision to step back, as he was believing that The Evil King won't cause him trouble if we don't disturb them. However, on that fated day, the day when the sky turns red, my father was fall in the hands of The Evil King. My foolish brother betrayed his faith, cooperating with The Evil King just to prove that he's wrong, my father is wrong.

"Therefore, I can't let the power vacuum prolonged, one must act before there are any other victim. To protect what was my father adored so much, I, Faerion Thalorion, will temporarily inherited my father's authority to rule this great forest. And declare war against the tyranny of The Evil King."

Thus, the devolution of authority continues. The King has officially resigned from his position, to be succeeded by his second son, Faerion Thalorion. The inauguration ceremony for the new king of The Great Elven Forest was held immediately after Faerion completed his speech.

The attendees of the ceremony stood in reverence, honouring the event with solemnity as they witnessed the rise of the new king.

Faerion vowed in the name of The Great Elven Forest and before his people that he would protect them for as long as he lived. The Elven King's shawl was then draped around his shoulders, and a crown was placed upon his head. The new king had been crowned, and a new era for The Great Elven Forest had begun. Applause erupted as the people of The Great Elven Forest rejoiced for their new monarch.

While everyone was occupied with the ceremony, Raelion and Caelum escaped from the underground jail and made their way out of The Great Elven Forest. Dozens of elven knights fell before their might as they broke free from the prison. They reached the outer edges of The Great Elven Kingdom using only the powerful knuckle brass Caelum had hidden, bypassing security by simply beating them, including the locks.

Raelion picked up a random sword on his way to the exit, and now he embarks on an adventure as a fugitive alongside his mentor and also his captain, Caelum Silversong. By wearing veils to cover their faces, Caelum and Raelion successfully escaped The Great Elven Forest without arousing suspicion.

"Where are we going now, captain? I can't just stand and running away while injustice is there and manipulating our people." Realion grumbling.

"Slow and steady, young master. Slow and steady. There's always time to punish the bad guy, a rebellion is what we need." said Caelum while adjusting his veil.

"Rebellion? If that's the case, then we can just-"

"That won't do, but I know who that can make it happen."

Caelum smiled as he looked through his veil at the future that awaited them. Slowly but surely, he believed they would return to the kingdom someday. Raelion, on the other hand, followed his mentor and also his captain on their journey to seek the impossible. There was only one destination for them—to stay and exact their revenge.

However, on the other side of the world, a man who had previously held no grudge suddenly became enraged upon seeing the ceremony reported in a newspaper. Dressed in a white winter jacket adorned with a black and white serpent pattern, he stood beneath a small veranda outside a shop, waiting for the rain to lessen in intensity. As he read the passage, his anger only grew.

At last, he crumpled the paper and threw it into the rain as he walked through the downpour.

Schordinger has no empathy for others; he can't feel anything right and ends up doing as he pleases to complete his mission. However, at that one time, his instincts served him right. Freed by his lord, Schordinger now discovered an uncanny fact: his lord's name was always being misused, which he would never have seen while staying in his chamber.

The purpose of his actions has paid off, as he can now see the reality of the world. Greed is a word he now despises the most, since his lord, without his knowledge, had been involved in pursuing what they wanted. Unable to forget what he read, Schordinger will always remember the day when his lord was insulted in the worst possible way.
