Resurrection 1

Days have passed as Anna and the Young Man traveled through valleys and over mountains to avoid being discovered by any civilization. Each day, they journeyed onward, and each night, they set up camp to enjoy the starry sky. When it rained, they sought out a nearby cave to keep their clothes and luggage dry.

They live freely in the wilderness and feel no regret for leaving civilization behind for good. Occasionally, the man in the shadows comes to persuade them. But instead of rejecting him harshly, they invite him to join them around the warm bonfire. Sometimes, the man in the shadows invites his twin sister, the lady of light, Brighter Than Light, Weiss, to join them as well.

Each day is a perpetual routine for both of them. Sometimes there are three of them, sometimes two, and occasionally four. At times, they camp for one to three days longer, as Anna has a hobby of developing potions to rejuvenate plants. The Young Man willingly accompanies her on her journey.

But those daily routines are not just ordinary—they have a purpose and a clear destination. To achieve ultimate peace, they need a proper place to stay. That perfect haven is located near the Great Elven Forest, a land filled with lush greenery and vibrant vegetation.

To reach the Great Elven Forest, they must cross the border between the Human Kingdom and the Great Elven Forest, which is quite troublesome since the humans may already be aware of their identities. Therefore, they choose to take a detour that is three times longer than the original route. Although this detour takes more time, they have no pressing reason to arrive quickly.

Instead, they both enjoy the adventure, discovering worlds they never knew existed beyond the Evil King's Palace.

From the peak of a mountain, they could see how the humans live within the Kingdom, now thriving with advanced technology. It was the same Kingdom that Anna had destroyed in the past, now transformed into something she could never have imagined. The winds of nostalgia hit her deeply, bringing a smile to her face.

The Young Man also gazes at the kingdom the humans have built. It's beautiful to see from such a distance, and he wonders how she feels, witnessing the beauty she once tried to destroy.

"Are you regretted? Finding yourself trying to destroy this place once." the Young Man ask.

"Not even the slightest. I believe it was because of the hardship they overcome in the past; they could grow better like this."

Anna smiles as she answers the Young Man's unspoken question. It was a question she had asked herself long before his arrival—whether she would despise seeing the world grow beyond her expectations or not.

But the real question she can never answer is whether she made the right choice in joining sides with the Evil King.

"That's remind me. Why do you reject the offer from Noir? If they could revive The Evil King, then will be your questions answered?" ask Anna while looking at his eyes.

Averting his eyes, the Young Man look at The Kingdom of Humans once again. The tranquility of the scenery help him remember his reason having adventure with his former colleague under The Evil King command.

"I was once live in solitary confinement and you know that pretty well. The first and the last time I depart from my chamber is when I ordered to gave the little girl's doll, in a place above the clouds. I was mesmerized by the view of that place but I have no choice than to retreat as I should never be exposed to the world. I want to know how it feels to be free, I want to explore the world I know nothing about. Thus my goals remain the same, I want to see the world with you." explain the Young Man.

Shocked, Anna never expected to hear those exact words from his mouth so soon. She had thought it was impossible for him to say something like that, but she was wrong. Perhaps, he was simply too straightforward to understand the deeper meaning of his own words.

Like he always been.

"Yeah, I feel your suffering. But how about the resurrection things?" Anna curious.

"It was rude to wake our lord in such mannerisms. He also didn't told us to. Therefore, I would not oblige. I prefer to search the answer by my own hands." the Young Man then look at his hands.

Smiling, Anna knew he was that kind of person—a soldier who obeys his lord and a gentleman who knows how to conduct himself. He is an obedient servant who holds his lord in high regard and would never disappoint him, as he sees him as his saviour.

After resting and enjoying their conversation and the beautiful scenery, Anna and the Young Man continue their adventure towards the Great Elven Forest. They are fortunate to have convenient rings that can conceal their mana flow. This prevents the kingdom's army from locating them easily, especially the sky resident's officials, whose eyes are constantly scanning the ground.

Another day has passed, and Anna and the Young Man are nearing their temporary place to stay.

Anna describes the place as a great steppe covered with thousands of blooming flowers. The land is flat, with no trees overhead, making it an ideal location for horses, goats, and other herbivores to roam freely or graze on the grass.

However, the way to the steppe is arduous.

A storm approaches, with lightning striking as if the land itself is rejecting their presence. Anna and the Young Man have a foreboding feeling about the weather. Moreover, they have never encountered such furious natural forces during their adventures.

Their adrenaline surges, their hearts race as if something momentous awaits them at the top. This feeling drives them to confront the fierce weather and press onward. Equipped with gear designed to withstand harsh conditions, Anna and the Young Man fight against the tide.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, both the Kingdom of Humans and the Great Elven Forest are experiencing the same severe weather as Anna and the Young Man. All outdoor activities are halted due to the storm, and people are staying indoors to avoid being overwhelmed by the tempest.

"The weather is so bad, your highness. Nobody dare to come out even with this many tree." said The King's of Faeloria advisory.

While sipping on some warm water, the King watches the storm with his advisors. However, the King has little to say beyond small talk, as severe weather like this is common in their kingdom.

"It's been a while since we see such furious nature. I just hope the crops will be fine." The King of Faeloria then look at the face of his advisory, "Any idea where the eyes of the storm located?"

"If I had to calculate with this intensity, the rotation of the spinning wind, then I guess it's on The Great Flower Plain." answer the king's advisory, holding the face of disappointment.

"Your speculation are wonderful, I trust your answer." The King says in proud.

"Please don't, your highness. It just a mere speculation which I may be mistaken." The King's advisory bow his head.

"You should accept praise with more smile on your face. That being said, I have no intention to stop this weather or whatsoever, Aldritch." The King then continues sipping the warm water.

"My apologies, your highness." the king's advisory bows again.

The location indicated by the King of Faeloria's advisor is near where Anna and the Young Man are standing. Indeed, the eye of the storm is directly above the Great Flower Plain, as mentioned. Despite the storm, they press on, undeterred by the elements, as they are well-equipped to handle such conditions and continue moving forward as if nothing could stop them.

On the halfway to the peak, they begin to notice oddities occurring along the way.

The trees began to wither, the grass turned yellow, and strange lights flickered before their eyes. Such phenomena wouldn't occur under normal circumstances, suggesting they are encountering mystical forces beyond their imagination. Nevertheless, Anna and the Young Man persist in their journey forward.

At times, faint whispers reach their ears—voices pleading for help, cries of agony, and calls for righteousness. Despite these unsettling sounds, the Young Man remains steadfast, continuing forward as if he senses someone waiting for him.

The same is true for Anna. However, in her case, thousands of flowers suddenly bloom along their path—yellow and red flowers symbolizing life and death beyond the border, welcoming a tranquil soul.

Just before reaching the peak of the hill, they found a dead body lying before them.

"Weiss... Brighter Than Light." the Young Man pitying.

"Let her be, it just a porcelain puppets from the organization to keep an eye to us." said Anna then pull the Young Man to keep moving, "I have a bad feeling about this."

The Young Man releases Anna's hand, which she had been clutching. He steps back as Anna, growing more determined to see what lies beyond the storm, continues forward. She doesn't recall the path to the steppe being this treacherous.

Just as Anna and the Young Man reach the top, their vision starts to fade. But soon they realize it's not their sight that's going dark—the world itself is turning black. While Anna can still see the Young Man clearly, everything around them has plunged into pitch darkness.

They halt their movement as the ground becomes invisible. However, as the footing begins to reveal itself, the world around them also changes. A giant dark moon emerges before them, unveiling a figure at the center of this new space.

A young girl gazes at the flowers beneath her feet. She has white hair, pale skin, and reptilian red eyes. On her head, she sports a small, goat-like horn. She wears a red dress and monochrome striped high socks.

Realizing that Anna and the Young Man have entered her domain, the young girl turns her head and stares at them.

"It's been a while, my dear pawns...."
