Tower Of Trials (2)

「 You have entered the waiting room. 」

Entering the waiting, I was pleasantly surprised. There were no beds, it's just a white room with a sleeping mat.

「 Restoring the player to their previous state. 」

It felt as if my fatigue was restored, my heart stopped beating intensely.

"This is insane…"

I said not believing what had just happened, I don't really think I can get used to this. All of this is just hard to believe.

`I guess I have no choice to accept it, since it's happening right in front of me..`

Even then, the battle with the goblin champion is engraved into my mind. Every single one of it. It felt as if my instincts were getting honed.

"This room looks like a mental asylum though."

Looking around the room, all I could see is a empty white room. It's nothing but white.

"At least it has enough room to train."

It felt like I was isolated from the world, there were still many questions on my mind, but I guess I'll get the answers I'm looking for later on.

Not prying too much into it.

"The only thing I'm worried about is the trials they gave me."

Would I have to face these kinds of dangers everyday..? I thought to myself.

Every second I spent in this blank white room felt as if I'm going to go insane.

Messages started appearing.

「 All tutorial trials have been completed. 」

「 Activating the system. 」

Click!

"A system..?"

「 You are now able to preform these commands. 」

「 questions, marketplace, status, inventory, trial. 」

「 Commands will execute as you say them. 」

Confused I asked myself, what even are these commands? I've never seen them before.

"Why am I even surprised."

Things in this place were irregular anyways, I just accepted anything that came my way at this point.

The first things I wanted the answer too is my questions.

"Questions."

The system started to open up, a message screen started to show up in my face.

「 Questions are only given once per trial, please use them wisely. 」

Before asking anything I thought to myself, what is the most important to ask right now..?

I had most questions figured out myself using my common sense.

I had putted the pieces together, seeing that I had gotten rewards for clearing trials. And the tower could give me things I didn't even know is possible.

The conclusion I found to this was that, the more I clear trials the more rewards I'll get, giving me a chance to become stronger. Seeing as to how it gave me a skill and a innate ability.

Holding off on getting my question answered, I would be interested on the things the tower rewarded me with.

"Status."

Opening my status screen a wide hologram popped up in front of my face.

「 Muhan Seongjang 」

「 Strength – 5 」 「 Stamina – 5 」

「 Agility – 3 」 「 Mana – 4 」

「 Innate ability – 'Duplication(F) 」

「 Skill – Clairvoyance(F+) 」

"Woah.."

Usually you would be able to see your status screen by going to the hunters association. But with this system you could see your status just by saying it.

"An innate ability.."

I had even gotten an innate ability. Something I longed for in the past, my heart started beating again.

I got curious so I moved my pointer finger near the ability, I didn't know if I could touch it or not, but it was worth a try.

As I touched the hologram screen, the ability then showed a detailed message.

Boom!

I fell backwards onto the floor, surprised that it opened another hologram screen.

"Ow…"

Opening my eyes, looking at the hologram screen.

「 Innate ability – 'Duplication(F) 」

「 Proficiency – 0% 」

「 Basic effect – The user is able to duplicate the things they have touched. Once touched the duplication will be stored forever. Allowing the user to duplicate it forever as long as the user has the mana for it. 」

「 Extra effect(1) – Able to duplicate yourself as long as you have the mana for it. 」

「 Extra effect(2) – Proficiency can be raised up when duplicating. 」

"What the fuck…"

This was an overpowered ability. Duplication..? There were so many ideas I had in mind for this.

The basic ability itself was already crazy.. but to be able to duplicate yourself, and raise proficiency at the same time was insane.

Anybody that had this ability could also agree with me here.

"Even people with innate abilities they don't have an ability like this.."

I started laughing, thinking I had hit the jackpot. As the hologram screen disappeared.

Opening my status once again clicking on the skill this time.

「 Skill – Clairvoyance(F+) 」

「 Proficiency – 0% 」

「 Effect – Able to have extreme focus and have an eagles sight. 」

This wasn't a bad ability whatsoever, the most important thing to me were the eagles sight.

Pair that with extreme focus and you'll have a deadly ability.

Closing the hologram screen I wanted to test out the innate ability.

`It said anything I touch…`

Touching my chest, a message popped up.

「 A duplication of Muhan Seongjang has been stored. 」

`That's quite handy..`

I wondered how to use the ability, I'm guessing it's also by saying the ability orally.

"Duplicate Muhan Seongjang."

Activating the duplication ability, a copy of myself appeared.

I analyzed him, the duplicated version of myself stared me. What I had realize after analyzing him is that, he had clothes and even my stats.

The duplicate version of myself is basically a clone of myself. Then he would jump back upon seeing me.

"You fucking scared me!"

The clone said out loud.

"What..?"

I said back to the clone. They had emotions..? I guess it would make sense since they were a duplicate of myself and an exact copy of me.

I had so many experiments I wanted to do with the clone, so I asked him some questions.

"What can you do..?"

I asked the clone the main questions I had in mind, since I hadn't known what the clone could do.

The clone then proceeded to tell me, he wasn't able to use the system commands nor could he use the abilities I could.

It's surprising, my options were limited now, I'm guessing I'll have a way around this in the future.

Then I had an idea trying to duplicate myself again, but nothing happened.

"As figured, I'm limited to one clone right now."

Putting aside the cloning of myself.

Opening the inventory I checked out the sword I had gotten from the rewards. Then a message had popped up once again.

「 A duplication of the Blood Moon Sword has been stored. 」

I can even duplicate weapons? This is a game changer, now I wouldn't have to worry about weapons. Duplicating the Blood Moon Sword, trying it out, before I held it down while I swung down onto it with the original Blood Moon Sword.

Clack!

The duplicated one broke almost instantly. If that's the case then, the duplicated sword has really horrible durability. I tested this out a few more times, seeing as the duplicated sword durability was terrible in every way possible.

Turns out I was right. The durability of whatever I duplicate is really fragile and disappear upon being hit.

This explains most questions I had with this innate ability.

After this I decided to check the description of the blood moon sword.

「 Item – Blood Moon Sword(E) 」

「 Description – This was once a normal sword, but once soaked in blood the sword started changing into a blood thirsty sword. 」

「 Effect – Once blood is consumed the user gains +1 in strength and +1 in stamina. 」

"That's not bad at all."

`The sword has some uses..`

I said to myself. Then I proceeded to test the limits of the duplication ability. The entire time I was testing out everything the clone just watched.

Then I had realized, I haven't checked the trials yet.

"Trial."

「 Second Trial beginning in – 22hrs 20min 」

`That makes sense, I couldn't just enter the trial right away.`

With this I decided to open the marketplace since I needed to know what you could purchase and what you couldn't purchase.

"Marketplace."

A hologram screen had popped up in front of my face once again, but I wasn't scared this time. You could say I've grown accustomed to it.

Everything I needed were in here, the shop was large and wide, with multiple weapons you could choose from. I already had gotten a sword from the bonus rewards so there was nothing to get there.

After this I would go to the resource section of the marketplace where food and amenities were being sold. After buying some MREs and getting a few potions once again, since I didn't get to use the potions in the dungeon last time. I purchased one mana and health potion, costing me 500 points.

「 You have spent 500 points. 」

「 Remaining balance – 700 」

This wasn't such a big deal, since I had no other use for the points. I didn't have any weapon I needed to buy from the marketplace. Since I'm a duplicating machine, I'll be fine.

After buying what I needed from the marketplace, the next thing I paid attention to is that there was a considerable amount of time before the next trial.

Then I realized something, the clone I used mana to duplicate is still here. I had a great idea, tossing the clone the blood moon sword.

"Fight me. Also don't worry I'll duplicate you again if you disappear."

The clone has my exact emotions and thought process so it wasn't hard to convince the clone to fight me. Since the waiting room had restored the user to a previous state before they got injuries. This also meant my mana is also restored.

Since the clone has all my experience and knowledge, the fight won't be easy. Of course I have Clairvoyance to give me extreme focus and an eagles sight. I'm also using a duplicated weapon, they break easily so I'll have to constantly create duplicates of the weapon.

Getting in position me and the clone started to trade blows with the sword. First we clashed swords as my duplicated sword started to crack from the impact.

Clang!

To fix this problem I simply duplicated another sword into my right hand since the clone only had one sword.

While he is busy trying to break the duplicated sword in my left hand, I slashed up with my right hand holding the duplicated sword.

Woosh!

The clone quickly stopped trying to break the sword forcibly, and kicked my stomach to kick me back some distances.

Kuh..!

I took the kick and looked at the clone with a smile.

"You crafty bastard.."

Charging in again, this time throwing the sword in my left hand at the clone to throw him off guard, creating another sword on my left hand right after. Then clashed with the clone again but this time im the one pushing him back, having both swords taking in the impact of the clash so none of them start cracking.

Clang!

Me and my clone went back and forth, of course every time my sword cracked I would use it as a projectile. Creating another one right after since mana is being constantly restored in the waiting room. This went on for the entire time I was waiting until the trial opened, as we would brawl nonstop.

Messages popped up as we fought each other.

「 Due to your nonstop battle you have gain stats. 」

「 Strength increased by 2. 」

「 Agility increased by 2. 」

「 Stamina increased by 2. 」

「 Mana increased by 4. 」

Opening the status screen to get the results of my training.

「 Muhan Seongjang 」

「 Strength – 7 」 「 Stamina – 7 」

It's amazing, even back on earth my stats never raised this quickly. I figured the tower is generous with the rewards, the more work you put into it, it'll reward you proportionally. This meant that the work I put will be rewarded.

Which only made my will stronger than before, having gotten a boost in confidence and determination. Because I had trained nonstop with the clone, the sword felt natural as if I've been using it all my life, growing accustomed to the sword and my abilities. While I was admiring the fruits of my hard work, another message popped up.

「 Floor 2 trial is starting. 」

A portal appeared in front of me, as I was ready to test out the fruits of my hard work.

「 Entering Tower of Trials floor 2. 」

「 Difficulty – Hell 」
