Memory of the Dragon
Even in front of others, Henry couldn't hold in how much he had missed Princess Marie.
When she told him to remove his armor, he removed the top half of the plate armor so his arms and torso were free to hold onto her as much as he wanted. The maids tried to help him and place it down on various tables but he was in such a rush he didn't mind if they threw it off to the side knowing the reinforced metal could take the fall.
There were only a few steps between them and, though the leg armor was inflexible, he kneeled in front of her on both knees and took her hands in his. He kissed the backs of both of her hands and looked up at her blushing face.
"If you could give us a moment…" she said to her ladies-in-waiting.
