"I have to settle this. Only when I do that can I move forward."
A thin layer of tears coated Ivy's eyes, gazing down at the hand that was holding hers. She held his hand back, swallowing down the tension in her throat as she looked up at him.
"Then I'd wait," she forced out her voice. "I mean, I wouldn't wait. I'd do what we initially planned. I will move forward — slowly, like a turtle. Then you will catch up. Didn't you say you ran fast?"
Hearing her remarks, Tiger almost choked on his own breath. He could only stare at her, cupping her face and brushing her cheek with his thumb.
"I might die," he whispered helplessly, almost hearing her heart sink. "I plan to."
"What?"
"Dragon and Dimitri's death will not quench my anger. I'll start with them, but I won't just stop there," he explained with great difficulty. "Those two might be our enemy right now, but there were still people out there who would jump on us at a moment's notice."
