Chapter 24: A Bit Tricky

Just when Li Xun thought he would leave disappointed…

"Senior Brother Li!"

A voice full of surprise called out from behind Li Xun.

"Hm?"

Li Xun turned around to look.

At some point, a slightly chubby man wearing the inner disciple's robes was standing behind him.

"Junior Brother, you are…?"

Li Xun glanced at the slightly chubby man. 

He felt that the person looked familiar, but he couldn't quite remember where he had seen him before.

"Senior Brother Li, it's me!"

"Pang Yuan!"

The man pointed at himself excitedly and said, "Did you forget? Twenty days ago, you gave me some guidance in the Scripture Pavilion and suggested I switch to a different cultivation technique."

"Thanks to your help, Senior Brother, I managed to reach the middle Qi Condensation stage in just half a month!"

"Oh!"

Li Xun made a sound of realization and smiled, "So it's Junior Brother Pang."

"Did Senior Brother come to the Azure Cloud Hall today to take on a mission?"

Pang Yuan looked at Li Xun, then glanced at the wall behind him and asked curiously.

"Yes."

Li Xun nodded. 

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the blue cloud emblem on Pang Yuan's chest.

Similar to the Law Enforcement Hall, disciples who joined the Azure Cloud Hall also had a mark on the left side of their chest.

"Junior Brother, you joined the Azure Cloud Hall?"

"Yes."

Pang Yuan nodded, looking excited. "What mission is Senior Brother looking for? Just tell me, and I'll find it for you right away!"

"Oh?"

Li Xun let out a surprised sound, his eyes showing a hint of delight. It seemed that his previous investment was starting to pay off.

At present, he had Lu Changhe in the Law Enforcement Hall, and now this Junior Brother Pang Yuan in the Azure Cloud Hall. 

Given time, it wouldn't be surprising if the entire Profound Sun Sect was filled with his people. 

Even if he wasn't the Sect Master, he'd probably have more influence than the Sect Master himself.

"I'm looking for a mission to hunt down a demonic cultivator, preferably someone at the peak of the Qi Condensation stage or the early Spirit Meridian stage."

Li Xun thought for a moment before speaking.

The reason he wanted to take on such a mission was mainly due to two considerations.

First, despite his cultivation, he had never truly fought against anyone. 

In the cultivation world, lacking combat experience was a significant disadvantage; one could easily lose to a strong enemy someday due to a lack of battle experience.

Second, hunting down others allowed him to kill and seize their possessions, which was far more profitable than collecting spiritual herbs.

Besides, he had the Royal Spirit Boat, a flying spiritual treasure. How many people could possibly escape his pursuit?

Pang Yuan patted his chest confidently. "Leave this small matter to me, Senior Brother. Just wait a moment, and I'll be back!"

After saying this, Pang Yuan turned and left. 

Not long after, he returned, holding a jade tablet in his left hand and a portrait in his right, striding towards Li Xun.

"Senior Brother, what do you think about this mission?"

Li Xun took the jade tablet and glanced at its content.

Mission: Hunt Down Liu Sandao, a Disciple of the Blood Demon Sect.

Duration: One month.

Location: Liu Sandao fled into Canglang Mountain two days ago.

Warning: Liu Sandao has reached the peak of the Qi Condensation stage and could break through to the Spirit Meridian stage at any time. Disciples below the Spirit Meridian stage should exercise caution when taking this mission!

Reward: Five high-grade spirit stones!

"This is pretty good," Li Xun said with satisfaction.

Five high-grade spirit stones were already considered a significant sum among inner disciples, not to mention the potential loot from killing Liu Sandao.

Combined, it might be enough to exchange for a Spirit Opening Pill, which was worth about seven or eight high-grade spirit stones.

Li Xun took the jade tablet, then opened the portrait to take a look. 

Smiling at Pang Yuan, he said, "Thank you, Junior Brother."

Pang Yuan smiled.

Li Xun nodded, exchanged a few more words, and then bid farewell, leaving the Azure Cloud Hall.

After exiting the Profound Sun Sect, Li Xun found a secluded spot and summoned his Royal Spirit Boat.

Once aboard, he tossed a few spirit stones into the vessel's core.

With the help of the spirit stones, the Royal Spirit Boat roared to life, transforming into a streak of light that shot up into the sky.

In just half an hour, the Royal Spirit Boat had traveled over six thousand miles, and Canglang Mountain was already in sight.

"So, this is the advantage of having a flying spiritual treasure?"

Li Xun clicked his tongue in awe.

If he had ridden a spirit horse, it would have taken him at least two days to cover the six thousand miles. 

Even flying on a sword would only shave off a bit of time, but not much.

After all, with his mere Spirit Meridian level strength, flying on a sword consumed too much energy, requiring frequent stops to rest and maintain peak condition.

But with the Royal Spirit Boat, he had no such concerns, and in just half an hour, he had already reached Canglang Mountain.

After all, his spiritual sense could only cover about a thousand meters, which was hardly helpful in this situation.

"This is a bit tricky."

Li Xun's brows furrowed.
