I Ruined Mr. Tyrant's Wedding

Allison Gray is Miss Wrecker. She gets paid for ruining relationships. But she has one rule to this job: Never ruin a good relationship. So when she was offered a job to ruin Evan Mori's wedding, she took it and didn't hesitate. After all, it was only a marriage for business and the bride has a hidden lover. She portrayed her role perfectly and ruined the wedding day, but there's one big complication: Evan Mori turns out to be her new boss and the tyrant demands for compensation she can't afford: her hand in marriage. - "What exactly do you want from me, Mr. Mori?" "I told you, I want a bride. You took my bride, you bring me another one." She snickered. "You want me to become a matchmaker?" "No, sweetheart," he stood from his seat and leaned forward. Both his hands were flat on the table as he crouched and peered down at Allie's piercing eyes. Evan stared at her green eyes darkly. They were so alive like a lovely summer forest, yet at the same time they were unnervingly cold and fearless. He didn't like her defiance. "You will take her place. You will be my bride."

Not easily swayed

Evan walked away and Allie stared at his back until she could no longer see him.

The man was more infuriating than she had thought. She shook her head, ready to leave the party when her phone rang. It was Chloe.

"Done with your business? If yes, then meet me outside in five. I'm leaving! The bastard keeps on annoying me!"

Just hearing Chloe's anger, Allie knew that the talk between Ron and Chloe didn't work out. She could sense that her friend was on the verge of committing murder. If Chloe could actually murder someone, Allie would have long asked her to murder Evan Mori.

Allie smiled at her own thoughts. She was getting crazier.

When she met Chloe outside, the latter was already in the car and ready to hit the gas. Once Allie was inside, they were cruising down the road in no time.

"What happened?" Allie asked, pulling her wig off. She pulled down her hair net, and her jet-black hair fell over her shoulders.

"Or maybe I shouldn't ask at all. Ron must have bugged the shit out of you. I'm sure he was asking you back."

Allie had witnessed Ron and Chloe's love story since it began. Although Chloe had been overseas for the past couple of years, they stayed in touch with each other. They talked a few times a week, and it wasn't hard to keep track of what was happening between the two since Chloe always told her everything.

No, there was no third party or anything like that. Allie knew Ron was crazy about her best friend. The man could hardly see any other female as a woman after they got together.

Ron even left his life in Claymount to join her in Cambridge so they could still be together while she pursued her master's degree.

In truth, Allie wasn't surprised that Chloe was asking for a divorce. It had already happened a few times in the past because Chloe could be crazy and stubborn sometimes.

"With what he's doing, he's only pushing me to really divorce him!" Chloe continued her rant. "I am his wife and he's expected to give me his full honesty. Then why didn't he tell me he's trying to build a game development company?!"

"He didn't lie. You just found out about it before he could tell you. Maybe he was waiting for the right time," Allie tried to justify Ron's actions.

Ron was a good guy. Pretty submissive to his woman, which was Chloe's ideal man.

"I've been telling him about my startup, everything about it, so why couldn't he do the same? Did he think I wouldn't approve of it? That I'd jeopardize it for my own company because we're spending too much already? God, I would support him!"

Chloe sighed heavily. "This is making my head ache. Let's stop talking about this for now. What happened back there? I saw you talking to Luke Bailey. What was that?"

"I was fishing for information," Allie answered blandly.

"Ugh," Chloe rolled her eyes. "I thought you were going to date him! Well, I was happy that you were entertaining someone, but I don't like Luke Bailey for you. That guy is a big playboy."

"I knew it. He exuded the aura of a seasoned playboy. But thanks to him, I got information about the girls at the party. He knows almost every lady there."

They soon arrived at Allie's penthouse. Chloe was temporarily staying at Allie's place because she didn't want to go home to Ron, and she didn't want to go to her family either. She was living frugally

to fund her startup, so she didn't want to waste money on buying a condo or staying in a hotel.

Allie sat on her bed after her night bath while Chloe was busy with her skincare routine. She was about to lie down when her phone beeped.

New message.

Unknown number:

Still at the party?

Allie stared at the message she got from Evan for a few seconds.

Then she replied, 'No. Have you made up your mind already?'

After sending that, she saved the number as 'Mr. Mori.'

Mr. Mori:

I'm still at the party. I played the piano. Thought you were still around, so I was planning to ask you if I touched your heart enough to marry me.

What the hell?

Allie didn't know what to say. She knew the man was toying with her, but it was so ridiculous she actually wanted to laugh despite hating his cringey message!

She replied:

Do you think my heart is easily swayed by a man's simple musical skill? Nice joke. I'm glad I left the party early.

She sent another message:

Spare me the nonsense. Tell me which one you like between Penelope Fisher and Naomi Cane, so we can arrange your meeting sooner.

Evan replied almost immediately.

Mr. Mori:

I like neither of them.
