New World!

Endless darkness, that is what I'm currently in. A place without a shred of light, floating aimlessly. I can't move my body, I don't know the reason for this. I just found myself in this situation suddenly, maybe I'm dead or maybe this is a lucid dream?

I'm not sure what the case is but none of that matters since I can't do anything. My body won't move the way I order it to, I feel...powerless and insignificant. In this place spanning with endless darkness, I am but a tiny being without power.

Haha...what am I even thinking. Sigh...I guess this situation isn't that bad. If I was really dead and this is what they call the afterlife then...nothing to do. Though all my life, I didn't really believe in those kinds of things such as the afterlife.

Though I did read and watch fantasy-styled series of various kinds. I like fantasy as I am very enthusiastic about magic and stuff. Sometimes, I even wish magic was true but alas...that's only a dream.

Now then, I guess I should wait and see what happens next. Not like I can do anything though.

How long has it been? A year? Ten or hundred years? Or maybe be even thousands or more years? Frankly, I've lost count on how long I stayed here.

You know, normally a person staying in this silent dark place for who knows how much time should've already gone insane or something but I'm not though. I admit, there were times I wished I would just vanish from this place but an invisible force would then embrace me and calm me whenever that happen.

But it seems my stay in this place came to an end as I saw a light shining ahead of me. And I don't know why but my body slowly drifted towards the light. I have no control whatsoever though since I can't move on my own.

A few moments later, I was swallowed by that light which forced me to close my eyes due to the sheer brightness. Wait...I remember that I can't move a single part of my body much more my eyelids.

Some moments later, my surrounding became different. Judging by the trees around me, I should be in a forest. I tried to move my body and raised my arm.

Small...that's the first thought in my mind. My arms became small or rather, I was not in my original body. I then scanned my surroundings and saw that I was beside a carriage with dead bodies around. They were mutilated by something.

And surprisingly, I am still calm in front of these sights. Oh right, it was also raining currently. I wonder who these people are, maybe one of them was my parent? Not like I met them to care, that may seem cold but it's true, to me they're nothing more than strangers.

"Waahhh!"

That's a baby's cry...I tried to stand to see where the baby is but to no avail. Sigh...curse this small body, I should be just about 1 year old and don't ask why I know, It's just my hunch.

Just then I heard some sounds and saw an old man having white hair and a long silver beard that overreach his neck. He seems to be wearing a robe like those magicians seen in various fantasy series.

"This is...monsters did this. What a terrible fate for them." I heard him saying, "At least let me pray for you all..."

Monsters...huh, is this a different world like those in isekai shows?

"Waah!"

Another cry resounded which made the old man notice me. He stared at me before picking me up. "You seem to be hurt, let me fix that. [Heal]."

A light came from his hand and I felt a warm feeling inside me. Was that magic? So this world has magic? Huhu...now I'm getting excited about this.

After healing me, he then proceeded in searching for the baby. It turns out, the baby was inside the carriage. He also healed the baby and carried it along with me.

"Being able to survive the monster attack, it's a miracle. You two are quite the strong-willed children. I've decided, I shall raise you two myself..." The old man said, after that, I fell asleep due to the tiredness of my young body.

"Hmm...so that's how magic works in this world. The important part is imagination and concentration...as well as control over mana."

I was currently holding a book about magic in this world. It's been five years since I was adopted by grandpa along with Shin, the baby back then.

I just learned the language of this world and started reading about magic. It's still hard to believe that I was reincarnated in this magical world. Well, at least I can fulfill my dream of using magic.

I am outside our house, leaning under a tree.

"Let's see...so I just need to imagine what effect I want and pumped mana." I imagined a candle flame and slowly pumped mana. After a few moments, a small flame appeared on top of my palms.

"Yes, I succeeded haha!" I exclaimed, it's my first time doing so, and surprisingly, I succeeded. But then my concentration was lost and the flame vanished.

"Ohh I need more practice." I became determined and decided to try more. From then on, that became my routine every day.

I also asked grandpa and grandma to teach me about magic. It seems grandpa was a famous magician here. And grandma is knowledgeable on enchantment magic which has a lot of potential.

Along with learning magic with them, I also learned magic with Shin, my little brother. There's also martial arts training with Mr. Michel, an acquaintance of grandpa and grandma.

"Hmm...all prepared." I checked my bow and arrow in my hands then my dagger hung at my waist.

"Big bro, you're hunting?" A kid with purple hair and reddish-brown eyes asked me.

"Yes, Shin..." I replied to him, this kid was that same baby that was adopted along with me.

"Then I'll go now, tell grandpa and grandma, I'll be back before dinner." I waved my hand towards Shin before casting magic. "[Body Reinforcement] [Reduce Gravity Resistance] [Reduce Air Resistance] " I casted 3 types of magic.

I then spread my mana all over my body and my spells took effect. I smiled then run towards the forest.

Swish!

Due to the spells I casted, my speed was extremely fast. In just a few seconds, I was hundreds of meters away from home now.

Unfortunately due to the current limitations of my body, I can only maintain such reinforcement on my body for a few minutes so I quickly stopped after getting a few kilometers away from home.

I am now in my usual training place as well as a hunting area. Actually, hunting was just an excuse as I wanted to practice magic control and test some new magic I learned.

" [Search] " I used a simple detection spell and scan the area. Good, there are no monsters and only some wild animals. No one to disturb me then.

"I'll try the new enchant magic I learned first. Then first, [Create Golem] " I muttered and soon a bit of my magic power seeped in the earth in front of me.

The earth then bulged out which slowly formed into a 2 meter tall rocky humanoid golem. This is one of my very own developed magic.

" [Enchant: Grant Life] " I could feel a substantial amount of my mana pouring into the golem and soon enough it gained glowing yellow eyes.

It then moved on its own without my control. I smiled as this means my enchant work but just a few seconds and the golem stopped moving.

"Sigh..." I sighed at this I've been doing the same thing for a week now and the test this time was the most successful.

I learn that enchant spell from a very special book. As for why it's special, well...

I stretched out my right hand and a book emerged from my right hand. The front of it displayed its title 'Tome of Enchanting and Alchemy'

That's the title, and I don't know how but this book seemed to be stored inside me. I recently discovered it when I started magic. It suddenly appeared which surprised me and it seems I'm the only one who can see it.

I've been studying it since then, but I've only read a small part of it. Also, I thought of the vast potential of enchanting magic. It's a very versatile magic, you can grant buff, de-buff, or even a concept into a person or thing.

Of course, there's far more use of enchanting magic but generally, it's those I mentioned earlier. There's also alchemy, another versatile power and it greatly compliments enchanting.

"Oh well...time to train more." I got out of my stupor and continued training.

Time really flew pass quickly huh. Another five years have passed and now I'm eleven years old. Haaa....I've been in this world for 10 years. I want to grow up faster so I can explore the world and find some interesting things.

"Brother? Aren't we hunting together?" I got out of my thought and turn towards my adopted little brother, Shin. This kid is an irregular, he doesn't act like a kid at all. Well, it's the same for me too since I'm reincarnated. Maybe that's also the case with Shin, a reincarnated person with their memories.

"Alright let's go, are you ready?" I asked

"Yes, today I'm testing out the new equipment I enchanted hehe." Right, he's somewhat like me who's very enthusiastic about magic.

" Alright then, try not to get left behind." I said as I casted enchantment on my body, [Body Reinforcement] [Reduce Gravity Resistance] [Reduce Air Resistance].

I then run towards the forest, of course, I controlled my speed so Shin could catch up. And as expected, a few seconds later, Shin is already running beside me.

"Follow me" I said and we weave through the trees and after some time, arrived at my usual hunting place. But it's quite different from the past as there's a big house now. But this house is different as it was a big tree with the inside carved out. Of course, there are windows that are visible outside.

Well over the years, I keep coming back here so I decided to use magic to grow a very big tree to act as a house. I then carved out the inside with magic and enchanted the whole tree with various effects like [Explosion Resistance] etc, to withstand my experiments.

"Woahh! What's this big bro?" Shin asked me in amazement.

Hm...I smiled proudly as he admired my work. "I built it using magic, come on let's hunt in the area. I already scanned the area and saw a group of boars a hundred meters away in the north." I said

"Okay"

We then run towards the north and arrived in just a few seconds. We arrived and hid behind some bushes 10 meters away, I casted some magic for stealth on both of us and we observed the group.

It's a group of 3 boars, 2 of them are adults and one was a baby. So it's a family of boars huh.

I look over to Shin and said, "Let's start the hunt."

"Huh...can't we hunt something else, brother? Look they're a family too..." Shin said

"Let's hunt one boar and before you say anything more, remember in this forest, it's survival of the fittest." I pointed at the bush on the other side, just 2 meters away from the boar family.

"Graawrr!" A huge 5 meter bear with glowing red eyes pounced on the unsuspecting boars. It easily grabbed one of the adult boars. And that's when I decided to move.

"Wait here, that bear is a monster bear. I'll deal with it..." I stretch out my left hand and a black space appeared then I grabbed a sword in a scabbard from it. This is storage magic which is convenient.

I took out the sword and swiftly appeared in front of the bear. It quickly noticed me but too late for it. I jumped slightly and swiftly slashed my sword towards its neck and beheaded it completely.

Thud!

Its head and body dropped to the ground and blood spewed out of its neck. Luckily I already jumped back along with the boar in my hand. Its family already ran away due to instinctual fear towards the monster bear.

"Shin, come out!" I shouted and Shin quickly appeared.

"Our hunt is done for today, let's go back to my base."

"Wait, big bro, I'll hunt too."

"Alright," I nodded and decided to clean the boar first. I saw Shin running off on his own.

Right, I need to drain its blood and remove its innards. I looked at the boar in my hands and first used my sword to cut off its head. I then made it float using wind magic then used water magic to flush out all of its blood.

After which I sliced its belly and removed its innards then burned them along with the head using fire magic. Yup, magic is really useful.

By the time I was done with the boar, I saw Shin carrying a deer with a smile.

"Hehe, I'm done hunting big bro." He smiled cheekily

I nodded and put the boar inside my storage. Shin did the same and we ran back to my base. Sigh...running is getting tiresome, I should develop teleportation magic or something. I wonder why I didn't think of it in the past. Oh well, it's not too late to research it.

We arrived at my base and entered. The space inside looks bigger than what it looks outside. Shin asked me why it's that way and I answered.

"I expanded the interior with space magic. It took me 2 years before completing it, space manipulation is hard after all." I worked hard before finishing this project. I was 9 years old at that time when I started constructing this base.

It contains a laboratory and workshop along with the essential living quarters. I just finished this project recently.

"Whoaa! That's amazing, you actually manipulated space." It seems Shin is amazed, of course, it's hard to manipulate space after all.

"Come on, let's cook in the kitchen," I said and despite looking around excitedly, Shin still nodded. Well... if he's excited by this, what would his reaction be after he entered my laboratory and see my current project.

I've been researching this for 6 years yet still no success, artificial beings aka Homunculi!
