I Just Want to Live Leasurely but Everyone Keeps on Bothering Me!

Elric Blackmore was an avid role-playing player in the VRMMO Dawn's Light. He was one of the best players in the game and the only solo player to enter the top leaderboards. He was not the strongest but he was the most versatile and the most annoying player to fight. Eric Blackmoore was the weak and talentless son of a Duke. Ridiculed and scorned due to his lack of talent in magic, he turned to being a wastrel to fill the void in his heart. These two people should have never met but fate had a different opinion. Waking up in the body of his alternate with the abilities of his game character, Elric has never been more confused in his life. ------------ I post chapters as I write them. It's been years since I last written something so don't expect me to write that fast. Updates are irregular.

Chapter 3

Night soon fell.

Elric and the princess made camp at the side of the road. Thankfully, Elric still have some low level tents.

Two hide tents were erected facing a fire pit. Wood were gathered from the surroundings and a simple flame spell lit up the bonfire.

Elric then took out two dragon meat skewers from his inventory and set it over the flame. A few minutes later and the meat was cooked.

He gave one skewer to the princess and ate the other one.

'Taste like chicken' Elric thought.

In the game, the food doesn't taste anything. It only gave a feeling of satiating his hunger. Of course the hunger from the real world doesn't really go away.

"Sleep. We have a long day ahead of us." Elric said. "I'll keep watch."

The princess nodded and went inside her tent.

After waiting for a few hours to make sure the Princess is asleep, Elric summoned the [Blank Grimoire]

The [Blank Grimoire] is the other EX-ranked item in his possession. Its ability is to mimic the effects of any [Spellbook] in Elric's possession.

[Spellbooks] are consumable items containing a single or multiple spells or skills. It may be active, passive, or special in effect. With [Blank Grimoire], Elric can activate any [Spellbook] he have without consuming them!

This is one of the reason why Elric is so annoying to fight. With countless of [Spellbooks] in his possession, any enemy Players would never know what he will do next!

"Invoke [Spellbook]: <Eyes of the Allfather - Huginn und Muninn> Cast."

The Grimoire opened and a bright light shine from within. A moment later and two raven flew out from the pages of the book!

"You two, keep watch. Alert me if there's any humanoid that gets close. Eliminate the beasts that comes close."

The two ravens vanished in a burst of speed!

"Invoke [Spellbook]: <Fidelis>, <Anti-vermin Ward>, <Soldier's Respite>. Continuous Cast"

The pages flipped once more and three transparent domes emerged from the book and settled around their camp!

<Fidelis> was a barrier that hides everything inside from the naked eyes.

<Anti-Vermin Ward> is a ward type barrier that forbids any vermin such as rats, insects, and other pests from entering.

Lastly, <Soldier's Respite> is a utility type AOE skill that recovers the mana, health, and stamina of anyone inside it.

Honestly, Elric's usual camp defences would be more but he doesn't want to reveal anything this early. From his memories alone, the strongest in the entire continent is not even a quarter as strong as his current self!

Call it pride or overconfidence, but Elric doesn't care! If he died, then it's his own fault anyway! Besides, death is but a mere inconvenience to the current him.

With the preparations done, Elric went inside his own tent and slept.
