Ecstasy
Dan's gasps were as loud as the snores of a fat man like he was being choked. His eyes were wide as he lay on the floor on his back, his eyes staring at the dark ceiling and body shivering.
The pain from his chest had already dulled his mind and there was not a single cohesive thought behind his eyes at the moment.
The pain lasted a few more seconds and then vanished suddenly, leaving him flat on the floor with a body slick with sweat and a heaving chest.
Dan's mind gained clarity and he grabbed onto his chest, his beating heart almost loud enough to be heard outside.
"I fucking died for a second there. "Dan muttered in between heavy breaths as he stood up shakily. The pain was gone and his body felt incredible like he had just been reborn.
"This power. "Dan whispered as he looked at his veiny arms. His arms were not like that before, not even close. He could now feel muscles in his body which was nowhere near muscular before.
