PUNISHMENT

~At The Marinos Mansion.

" Good evening sir, good evening mam. Hope you had a splendid trip, " Mr Moses said while signaling the maids to carry their luggages to their room.

Mr Moses has been their butler for the past 24 years so he was already considered as family, same as Martha and Maggi.

Mr Moses was ill ,so he was granted permission to take a break. He had been away for two months, hence his presence was a breath of fresh air to the family. He was such a Lively ,funny and kind person . Thus gaining respect, admiration and love from everyone around him.

" Mr Moses where are the kids? Weren't they informed of our arrival?" Melissa asked looking around.

"Well mam , I think Miss Hazel must have gone to her hair stylist and as for Miss Gema , she is still at the company, " Mr Moses said nervously not liking the sudden change in his Master's demeanor.

"She keeps on styling her hair from one to another while her cousin is busy paving a way for herself in our community. When will that daughter of yours learn to be responsible and mature?" Maxwell uttered looking at his wife disappointingly.

" Honey please don't start , cause am so exhausted from our trip. Do I need to always remind you that Hazel is not only my daughter but yours. You spoiled her too much so what did you expect?" Melissa said sautering towards the stairs. She didn't want to start an argument with her husband cause it won't end well. She needed a break from all the drama that has been happening for the past one month.

Maxwell was heading towards his office when he received a call from Mr Albert Markwill.

" Good evening Mr Markwill, how have you been?" He greeted while taking a seat in his office.

" Good evening Maxwell. Am sorry for saying this abruptly but my grandson has decided to Wed your daughter this weekend and that's specifically Sunday," He said waiting for Maxwell's reply.

" Well I must admit that am astonished by the sudden change of plans but if that's what your grandson wants, then it's fine by me. They are already engaged so why wait any longer . The earlier they get married the faster they could provide us with grand babies," Maxwell uttered feeling elated by the news.

He so much wanted Hazel's future to be assured. He knew his daughter was a good for nothing, so the least he could do was to secure her future in a wealthy and prominent family.

"Don't worry about the preparations, cause everything would be set before time. I just want you to announce the news to your family. Am so sorry for not informing you this in person, because am currently in Germany for some business deals and this news also came to me as a surprise. Am glad that our children can finally tie the knot together," Albert said enthusiastically. His grandson's decision came as a shock to him and he felt it was a dream come true. Alex was very much against this arranged marriage. Hence his decision was indeed shocking to Albert. He didn't want his grandson to change his mind so he decided to quickly inform the bride's family about the great news.

"Me too Mr Markwill. My wife and daughter would be elated with the news. It's high time those two tie the knot. I would inform them of the

New date which is Sunday, including the invitees,"Maxwell said smiling.

Immediately the call ended, he was faced with an angry Hazel who was busy fuming like a mad Bull.

" Dad did I get you wrongly or am actually getting married on Sunday?"Hazel uttered .

"Yes you heard me well Honey. Your wedding day has been brought forward to Sunday. You shall finally become Mrs Markwill by Sunday. Isn't that great?"Maxwell said gazing lovingly at his daughter.

"No dad, this is sick. I don't want to get married on Sunday okay and I deserve to voice my own opinion here," She said annoyingly.

"You don't have an opinion here. I know what's good for you and you will later on thank me for this. I know you are still naive and don't understand how life works but believe me my child, daddy knows what's best for you. My biggest dream is to see you secured in a safe place baby. Your in-laws have already accepted you and so has your husband. So what more do you want ?" He added holding her lovingly.

" Do you hear yourself dad? Yes my future is secured but will I be happy?. Dad life doesn't revolve only on wealth. Alexander Markwill won't bring me the happiness and love that I seek in a man. I don't love him,"She screamed moving away from her dad.

" You would obviously learn to love him with time. This conversation is over. Do not do something stupid or you shall be disowned by this family. Trust me on this cause am not bluffing," Maxwell said before sautering out of his office. He was tired of entertaining Hazel's whinings.

Hazel was left alone to lament." So this is what you meant by punishment Alexander Markwill. Well I won't give you the satisfaction you desire. I would make your life a living hell," She muttered feeling satisfied with her decision.
