The war had never truly stopped. What we are facing is just the continuation of past battles. The reason is simple, an outlander came, forced the natives into seclusion by waging war and then the subordinates of this outlander waged yet another war that solidified the current hatred between humans and demi-humans.
Now, they want their land back and they've launched their first attack. It was something Jeoma, the king of Commeiku and the leader of ascendents and regulators, feared the most. The ascendants by themselves were divided on the idea of war. Someone were conservative about it while others were radical and wanted the war to happen. Yet under the direction of Jeoma, none acted on their political ideology.
Now that war has begun, things cannot be taken back but what I can do is give each other a satisfying end. Humans created by the origin are not exactly at fault here nor are those demi-humans who want their lands back. So the best outcome would be to destroy the wall that stand between the two. There are obviously many issues. Especially those who would benefit the most from the war. Aristocracy would obviously benefit the most but war is also beneficial to the arms industry. They'd do their utmost to keep the war going for as long as possible.
While thinking about all this, I went up to the human world. Goal was to head to Grumania and deal with my classmates while the army infiltrated the kingdom. I may have sided with demi-humans but I still have my humanity.
...
It had been a week since the army made their move. The classmates had gathered in Grumania to defend it. All had reached level 20 and were accompanied by the head hunters and the nightfall. They were some of the top tier soldiers the country had and all were going to fight in a 1 v 46 but it was not much of a trouble for him.
Currently all were in the garden of the castle talking about the strategies and motivating each other.
"It's just some monsters, right? Obviously it wouldn't matter much because the divine is one our side." Liam smirked as he held his sword. His mind was filled to brim with lewd thoughts... no... it was oozing out and making everyone around him uncomfortable.
"It shouldn't be a problem but it's an all-out war. Those monsters think they can take back land that belongs to us humans. We are the blessed ones here so it's obvious who would win." Rosaline slammed her spear into the ground. She had taken on the role of leader alongside James who's title was of 'The Hero'.
"Yeah yeah... Of course." Liam smirked as he pulled the women surrounding him closer. They didn't like him at all but given his status as the summoned one, they endured. Apart from Liam himself, everyone else was fully aware of the fact.
"No wonder... women don't like you." A voice came from somewhere. A voice all to familiar to everyone.
"K-Kenji?!" Liam cried out as he couldn't believe his ears whatsoever.
"Don't be stupid, he died. Even his own group... those pests declared that he had died during that catastrophe at the hands of some unknown entity." Arjun chuckled. The link's magic was still working on everyone except one. James. Because he was the hero, he could bypass the magic links use. He knew it was truly Kenji but had no way to prove it. Even if Kenji's showed his face, no one would believe it's actually him.
And suddenly, someone slammed their foot on Liam's face slamming him into the ground.
"It's Kenji!! But where are the soldiers?" Jennie was confused. "Wait... Kenji...? Someone is using his face as a front. We have to find out who this person is!"
Rosaline and Leisha charged at Kenji but he just jumped out of their war.
"Is he all alone? This man must be stupid to show up alone in front of all of us." Arjun cried.
"You sure you don't need help?" James asked Kenji as he brandished his sword.
"Quite sure." Kenji responded before he launched himself at Jennie and slammed her head into the wall. He jumped back to attack the members of head hunter but something was wrong. Jennie fell to ground while breathing heavily. Barbara rushed to her aid but there was something wrong. What Kenji had done wasn't apply status to her but he was quite literally deleting her HP. He had applied the highest form of corrosion. It made it abundantly clear that he was here to simply kill everyone.
What was Kenji truly thinking was incomprehensible to everyone including James.
"YOU!" James charged at Kenji but was quite easily kicked away too. "YOU!! WHY?! WEREN'T YOU DEAD?! Why?"
"In eyes of everyone, I've died. But right now, I'm more alive than I've ever been." He smiled before continuing his barrage of attacks at the three alive members of head hunters.
"Well then I will kill you." James picked up his sword and charged at Kenji again.
"Sure, you would." He responded and decided to give all his attention to James. He had received buffs from ten of his classmates who had support jobs given to them. He was in all honesty quite strong but still not strong enough.
A small leaf appeared on Kenji's hand that flew up into the air and created a small translucent box around James.
"Let me show the gap between our powers." Kenji said as the box was set ablaze. What he had used was nature magic alongside fire magic. The two of them together would keep burning the person and even water magic can't really do much. Not because water magic wouldn't work at all but because of Kenji's sheer magic output. It was difficult for anyone to output enough water magic to extinguish the burning.
As James screamed in pain and agony, everyone rushed to him to deal with the fire except three members of Nightfall. Rosaline, Leisha and Barbara who wanted to confront Kenji the most. None of them could help James anyways.
"Using that heretic's body? Bold, don't you think?" Leisha aimed her bow at him.
"Get out of my way." He flew towards Liesha and applied corrosion on her. "Have fun healing her." He said to the three before continuing towards his classmates.
"YOU!" Liam, who had finally gotten healed, charged at me but he was so pathetically weak that a simple gust was enough to blow him away. I kept walking towards the group of remaining 42 people.
"You're are all considered to be the strongest? Now... beg to whoever God you worship." I said as I raised my hand and created a gigantic ball of molten lava. As I kept pouring more and more magic power into it, the size became big enough to destroy the entire city.
As everyone trembled in fear, no one dared to come forth and challenge me. I think they've excepted their fate.
Personally, I would've preferred a more civil outcome where the two sides got along in the end but even I knew that was impossible.
"Humans have committed too many atrocities in the name of religion and as the apostle... I will pass the judgement. Witness the magnificence of your gods." I said as I launched the attack at the city.
I would've preferred if we could add cover for each volume but we can't. That sucks but whatever. I hope I'm able to finish volume 2 in timely manner. Maybe before september.
