"Hey, stop shaking us!" the fairies complained, bouncing up and down the bottle as Min ran. She couldn't let them go. They were her only leverage against the green menace. Min jumped over a branch and crawled inside a hollow tree to hide.
The wood scraped against Min's elbows and knees. The tree trunk was filled with yucky mud as well. It was still preferable to the alternative. Inside the hollow, Min should be hidden from the fairy… if she wasn't holding a jar full of angry Christmas lights.
Min covered up the bottle of fairies with her cape. Hopefully, that would be enough to lose that- "Oww!"
The floating branch had followed Min, striking at her posterior with enough force that the slap echoed in the woods. The fairies inside the bottle giggled as she hurried to crawl away from the hollow. Min sprang up to her feet before running aimlessly towards the dense fog.
It was an arduous sprint. Min had to keep pushing leaves and branches out of her way, more and more of the foliage seemingly appearing out of nowhere on her path. Her hair now had so many leaves sticking out of it that it could decently pass as a tree itself.
"This is getting a bit boring. Let's end it." Min's feet desperately tried to keep running, but they could no longer find the ground beneath them. A tree branch had snatched her cape and was lifting her. The fairy bottle fell to the ground, shattering and releasing all the captive sprites.
The branches kept coiling around Min, now holding her by the waist and pinning her arms at her side.
"Well, well, well. It seems like the Order didn't learn her lesson last time," a red fairy said, flying up to her face. The rest of her sisters soon joined her.
"I think we ought to take our time with this one, girls."
Min gulped, sweat rolling down her forehead. Another glorious defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. The fairies seemed like bullies, and if she knew bullies, then begging them to stop would only make the situation worse.
Still, she did have one request. "Err, before you prank me, and all that, can I ask a favor? Can you please don't destroy my cape? It's just, that I borrowed it from a friend, and she is going to be very mad if something happens to it."
The green fairy shrugged. "Eh, sur-"
"No." The red fairy wasn't in a cooperative mood. "That's the first thing we'll take away. Sisters, it's high time we fed our moth friends."
The fairies joined together in a whistle that rang loud across the forest. Beneath Min's dangling feet, the floor turned grey with the swarm of moths that flew from all corners of the woods.
"N-no!" Min thrashed her legs and squirmed in a vain attempt to free herself from the wooden hand holding her torso, but it was no use. She closed her eyes and prepared for the worst.
Surpassingly, the worst didn't come. Min felt a strong current of wind somewhat soothe her warm skin. She opened her eyes. The moths flew in a vortex around her but seemed reluctant to touch her.
The fairies, on the other hand, weren't that lucky. Their horrified shrieks were louder than the flapping of the moth's wings. What was going on?
The moths left as quickly as they appeared, leaving a gang of naked fairies in their wake. The bugs had eaten their leaf dresses! Min was surprisingly the most dressed woman in the glade. And for once, the most well-endowed too.
"Eeep!"
"My dress!
"Hehe, I can see your tits Lely."
"You are naked too, Gladia!"
"Yeah, what of it?"
"Urgh! You!" The red fairy flew towards Min. "What did you do?"
If Min could freely move her shoulders, she would have shrugged. "I… don't know? I did nothing, I think?"
"Nothing, my ass!"
"I mean, yeah. Lely, you don't have much to flaunt about..." the green fairy commented.
"Shut it! If you did nothing, why did the moths turn against us?"
"Maybe they just hate you?" Min replied. "No offense, but you gals don't seem like the most pleasant people to work with."
"What? That's stupid. We are spirits of nature! All of Mother Nature's creations love us by default!"
"See? Can't accept constructive criticism. Exactly my point!"
"Let's see you befriend the bugs then! I'm going to shrink you to our size and have your mud wrestle that damnable worm! See how you like that!"
The fairies' glow grew ten times in intensity, magic sparkles coming down from their wings. The light was so blinding that Min was forced to close her eyes, and when she opened them again, she could see that… she was still hanging from the tree.
"Nothing happened? AAAH!" A giant creature rose in front of Min, an earthworm the size of a tree. Luckily, the blind creature was scared by her high-pitched yell and began to scamper away to the opposite side of the forest, trampling trees and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
"So, we made our worm friend giant instead of making our human enemy small. Any other smart ideas, oh great leader?" the green fairy asked the red one.
"Let's just…" the red fairy sighed. "Let's just pelt her with snowballs. She is naked, it will be cold. Not the best prank, but it will do." Once more, Min closed her eyes and braced herself for a very cold onslaught.
"Aaack!" Min yelled, feeling a cold ball of snow hit her forehead, then her slim stomach, and even above her cleavage. But, that was it for the barrage. She didn't feel anything else hit her, so she timidly opened her eyes and-
"Eeeep!" the red fairy yelled, only her head sticking out from a big pile of snow. Huh, it seems the other snowballs missed their target by a wide margin. "By the Two Sisters, why aren't our spells working?!"
"Maybe the Order sent her as a trap of some sort, and she has anti-magic charms or something."
"Or maybe you just suck today, Lely." The green fairy boasted. "Watch how it's done!"
"Oww!" the enchanted branch flew up and hit Min's buttocks again.
"See? Nothing wrong with my-ack!" But then, the branch turned around and swatted the green fairy as if she was a bug.
As the branch went around trying to hit the other fairies, a thought occurred to Min. Was this her gift? The ability the Goddess supposedly gave her when she reincarnated? Was she a living magic jammer? It made sense in retrospect…
The wizard she fought in the river. She had problems casting spells too, didn't she? It was the whole reason she had teleported her clothes away.
Huh… it was nice to have a clue about what her ability was, but… why couldn't it have been something cooler? It's not like she had control over how to use that gift either.
"Seriously, what's going on?! Something powerful is messing with our magic. Come on, sisters, let's get to the bottom of this." After some effort, the fairies managed to turn the floating branch into kindling for a bonfire.
They held hands and formed a circle around Min, humming a strange tune.
"Yes, there is no mistake! You have the Jester's Curse!" the red fairy said.
"The what?"
"A powerful ancient hex that brings misfortune to you. Except, it doesn't attract tragic bad luck, but the kind of mayhem that is liable to make other people laugh at you… kind of like a jester."
"Yes, but it's also… contagious?!" the green fairy said, her voice quivering. "It doesn't only affect you, but everyone around you as well. Why would anyone curse you like that?"
"No, that can't be right. Are you sure I don't have a hidden magic jamming ability or charm?"
"Oh no, sister, you are cursed to the bone. The Jester's Curse is just the tip of the hex-covered iceberg that is your body."
"Let's get this idiot off our forest before too much of the curse passes to us!"
"Errr… you can kick me off this forest," Min said, thinking fast. "But I'll just come back, over and over and over again! Until I finish my mission, or I die trying!"
The fairies all looked at each other with worried looks on their faces.
"She is a trap set by the Order! I told you!"
"If she doesn't move away, we should!"
"Or, you know, we could..." The red fairy grabbed a little twig and snapped it in half.
"Are you serious, Lely?! By the goddess, what's wrong with you?!"
"Besides, what if her ghost comes out and haunts us? Then we'll be like doubly cursed forever!"
"Screw it, let's move to the Turial Ruins. Better than dealing with this nonsense."
The fairies all nodded in agreement. The decision was made, and they began to float away towards the sky, leaving the Misty Forest forever... or at least for the near future.
"Oh yeah, fairy treat neutralized, quest complete!" Min celebrated… as much as she could while hanging from the tree. "W-wait, please, can you get me down before you leave?! Girls? Girls?!"
Min was alone, hanging from the tree shrouded in mist. An annoying fly and a loud cricket were her only company.
"The huntress is bound to come check on me eventually, right? Although, I wish she wouldn't have to look up to find me… I hope I can afford to get some pants with the reward."
Min crossed her legs over her bare sex, trying to somewhat hide it from any possible passerby who happened to be strolling around the forest.
It's a good thing the fairies confused her gift from the goddess as a curse because otherwise, she didn't know how she was going to get out of that one. There is no way the curse stuff they said was true, right? It was just a misunderstanding… right?
Min shivered, wrinkling her nose to try and get some snow out of her face. It was kind of a cold afternoon to be hanging around... At least she was hanging next to the main road, so someone was bound to come by sooner or later.
Someone like that brunette woman walking by the road... "Hey! Over here! Look up!" The woman stopped walking and looked up towards Min, gasping and covering her mouth as she got an eyeful of her intimates. Min softly whimpered and raised her knees.
"Ok, maybe don´t look all the way up! Can I get a bit of help here Miss... Wait, I know you! You are at that Amazon Girl!"
"Ah! Nim! Right, I remember you! Good thing I ran into you here, I´m looking for an extra member for my party. Want to go dungeon diving when you get down from there?"
