Their Decision

"Why do we have to wait until daylight? Isn't now a good time to sneak into that building?" Elaine asked with a confused face.

"I have to recover my Magic Power first," Barry replied. "Besides, we don't need to worry about fighting them during the day. We can definitely win."

Elaine who heard that nodded and decided to believe Barry.

After that, Barry turned to Danny and Anna who were still showing uneasy expressions.

"You two should sleep now. It's all over," Barry said to them.

Danny and Anna didn't know what to say. What happened a few minutes ago still caused shock in their hearts.

Barry and Elaine return to their room. But before Barry walked out the door he turned to the two of them and said.

"We'll talk again tomorrow. I'll tell you something. The world outside is already different from the world you know, and I don't think it will be back to the state like before. So, you have to prepare yourself."

After he said that Barry closed the door and let the two of them contemplate about what he said.

The next day came almost without realizing it. Barry opened his eyes after he got a soft nudge on his hand from Elaine. The day is still a little bit dark.

"It's morning," Elaine said.

"Oh..." Barry sat up and gathered his consciousness on the bed.

His sleep last night was very short. However, his body felt fresh as if he had slept for a full eight hours without interruption. Barry thought that it happened because of the awakening of power in his body.

A knock came on the door. Elaine hurried to open it carefully.

Anna's gently smiling face could be seen through the door.

"I made breakfast for you," Anna said with a smile.

Hearing that, Elaine's brows furrowed. "You did?"

Anna nodded.

"But... We didn't ask for it."

"Yeah. I just... Well, didn't you two want to do something today? So, I thought I'd make you breakfast."

Elaine and Barry never expected that. However, it would be rude to reject Anna's efforts.

They also believed that Anna meant no harm at all. So, they happily enjoyed a short breakfast.

Barry and Elaine ate briefly. Barry told Elaine not to eat too full because they had to do something, namely storming a bandit's lair.

So they have to keep their bodies light and in prime condition.

Anna had no problem with that. She understands it.

As soon as they came out of the motel, it turned out that Danny was already outside and waiting for them.

"What are you doing?" Barry asked.

"I'll help you kill those bandits," said Danny.

"What? But why?" Barry looked very surprised.

"Uhh, we've been doing a lot of thinking last night. And I think what you said is right. This world has already changed.

"We choose to shut ourselves away and escape from reality because we think everything will be fine and come back to normal.

"But, when we saw you two, two kids traveling after seeing and facing many horrors, we realized that the world is not gonna be alright. At least, not in the near future."

Barry nodded his head. If it's like this, then maybe he can invite Danny and Anna into his group to make sure their trip to the bunker alpha is a bit safer.

"Okay. But now, we have to hurry," Barry said.

But before that. He must save his mother and sister first. Therefore he had to be fast.

Barry, Elaine, and Danny got into the SUV and they went straight to the place Barry got from Jared last night.

"You can choose a gun you like," Barry said to Danny who was sitting in the back seat with a bag containing guns.

Danny chose a rifle without saying much and checked it. As if he had often held a firearm.

"I've been in the army for some time," he said.

Barry just nodded.

Elaine drives the car at a fast pace. Once again, they found something that felt wrong in this area of ​​town.

There were no zombies or monsters in sight. Maybe there are people hiding inside the buildings but no one is roaming the streets.

Just as Barry had thought before. This apocalypse is a little different from the usual apocalypse that he thought would happen.

A few minutes later they arrived at a three-story house that looked empty.

Barry gives Danny a way to use his skills and opens his stats window so he can help him. He immediately understood because it was an easy thing.

There was a strong smell that wafted out onto the streets, making them scrunch their noses. But this smell is very strange so they don't know the origin of it.

"Let's not waste time. I'll go in first. Elaine, you get behind me and attack anyone who looks like an enemy. Danny, you provide support from afar."

Barry gave them a short command and then got out of the car.

"Are you sure you want to attack straight from the front door?" Danny asked in a worried tone.

"Yes. I have to go immediately."

Barry got out of the car and walked quickly towards the house.

"Don't worry. He is strong," Elaine said then followed him out of the car. But he didn't follow Barry straight away, instead, he walked a few meters behind him as Barry instructed.

Barry kicks the door and activates his Gravity Manipulation to protect his body. But no one greeted him.

'Isn't there anyone here? Is it possible that there are only six people in this house?'

Even so, Barry remained careful. Maybe they saw them coming and prepared an ambush.

Barry ventures deeper into the house. He still hasn't found anything.

The smell is getting stronger. So Barry decided to move closer to the direction the smell came from.

But he was greeted by a sword swing coming from behind a room beside him.

Barry was startled by the ambush. However, the sword stopped a few centimeters from his neck, stopped by the power of gravity that he had prepared earlier for this situation.
