By early morning, even the wild animals outside had fallen into deep slumber.
"Ugh… Huh…" Cheon Yeo-hwa slowly woke, blinking groggily. She was startled to find herself cradled in Leo's arms.
"Leo… why are you…?" she stammered, her face flushing with embarrassment. Though she was aware of the warmth of his embrace, she couldn't remember how she had ended up in that position.
In her pounding head, only fragmented memories remained. Cheon Yeo-hwa, who was in much better condition than usual—aside from a minor headache—was able to quickly piece together what had happened from fragments of her broken memories.
"Did I collapse because the poison ran wild?" she wondered. She had occasionally experienced seizure-like symptoms before, but this time was different. She had suffered from extreme pain due to the sudden flare-up of the poison, yet she had managed to stay conscious and endure it. This was the first time she had completely fainted.
