Sebastian gave up. Laying down on the moist grasses, he looked up at the dusky sky. Which was preparing itself for a sunrise.
He sighed and glanced over at Abrielle who sat beside him, looking at the sky like him. Abrielle completely ignored his gaze. She may look young like a teenager but her life was way longer.
A lifetime of a human was just a blink of an eye for her. Human life looked nothing but insignificant to her. Except for wondering, why try so hard to live if the end is just dying. The life they build so hard would just end up like nothing. They can't even take it with them, then why?
"I never understand what's so great about it." Abrielle sighed.
"Great about what?" Sebastian hummed, raising a brow.
"Being human…" Abrielle answered, looking up at him in wonder.
