My Liege

Azviel sighed as the boss left the room. "I was hoping to have a fight today..." He laid down on the floor and looked up at the wooden ceiling. "So boring! Someone give me something to do!"

He could hear sounds of battle outside, but there the shadow demons were guarding his way outside. Azviel sat up and looked at them, "Can you just let me out? I want to go fight!"

The shadows didn't budge. [Captain said to keep you here. You will stay here.]

He frowned. "I'm going out. You can't stop me." Azviel pushed away the shadows as he tried to exit through the door.

However, the grabbed him on the arms. [You cannot leave.]

With a single flap of his wings, Azviel pushed them both away. His cloak slightly flew up as he retracted his wings. He repeated, "You can't stop me."

Both of the shadows didn't move as he exited the tree root. Azviel looked outside to see Falziel shooting at the shadows while Rya lured them in. Felton was busy casting buffs and healing any injuries.

He noticed that Falziel was doing a half-hearted job. It seemed that he was looking for Azviel.

Azviel let out a small chuckle at that. "Falziel never changes...Always worried about someone else even though they're the opposite of him."

The demon shadow captain was guiding a force of shadows to attack them. The boss was able to weave in and out of shadows, making him almost impossible to catch. The only way to distinguish the boss from the black shadows was the purple aura surrounding it.

Slowly, but surely, Rya, Felton, and Falziel were getting overwhelmed. In all honesty, Falziel could have destroyed them in a single blast if he wanted to. However, he wanted to stay low and undercover.

Azviel watched as the demon shadow captain aimed for Felton. Rya tried to lure it away, but it wasn't before the boss hit him. Felton fell to the ground unconscious.

Azviel sighed in disappointment. "Mages are always so weak in defense...They can't even take a single hit from a boss."

Rya had no way to attack the shadows as she was simply a tank. She could only hold out as they slowly weared her down. She fell unconscious too, after a little while.

That's when Azviel walked out towards Falziel. "Hey."

Falziel's expression instantly brightened as he dropped his bow and ran towards Azviel. "Azviel! I was wondering where you went!"

The shadows kept attacking as Azviel raised up a hand to make a circle of black fire around himself.

The boss of the dungeon reared back. It hissed. [Black fire. Are you a descendant of the seventh demon king?]

Falziel cut in. "Excuse me~ Are you the shadow demon captain? Your form is so cool! I never knew that you would be a literal shadow!"

The boss looked annoyed as Falziel ran around it in amazement. Azviel cleared his throat. "Falziel."

Falziel covered his mouth with his white wings. "My apologies. I got carried away."

The boss hissed. [What's an angel doing here?]

Azviel started talking as Falziel cut in once more. "Hi! I'm Angel Falziel, and I'm watching over this little demon over here!" He placed a hand on Azviel's shoulder.

"Don't call me that." Azviel pushed Falziel off of him.

The shadow demon captain's form swirled around until it had a humanoid shape. He had a pale face with red hair and black eyes. Similar to Azviel, but the features were different.

[A little demon? Is this Keres you speak of, a demon?]

Falziel grinned. "Yes and no! He's actually not Keres, he's-" He tried pulling Azviel's cloak off, but Azviel grabbed him by the hood.

"Stop speaking for me, Falziel!" Azviel let him go and threw off his cloak himself.

"I am Azviel Keres, your current demon king." His red name shined in the darkness of the dungeon. Azviel's wings spread out wide and shined in the dim light.

The shadow demon captain instantly kneeled. "My liege." All of the others shadows switched to their humanoid form and kneeled too.

Azviel looked at them. "What happened to the disrespect you showed earlier?"

The shadow demon captain didn't dare look up. "My apologies, my liege. I didn't know you were hiding in this...weak human form."

Azviel instantly whacked him with the back of his sword. "Listen up. This is my actual form. You dare insult me?"

The captain's head slammed into the ground from the impact. Falziel looked worried at that. "Azviel, maybe you could be a bit more gentle? The didn't know after all."

Azviel sighed and sheathed his sword once more. "I only came here to clear the dungeon, but seeing as the monsters here are demons, I guess I can't go on a slaughtering spree after all."

He looked back at the unconscious S-Rankers. "Oi, you. Captain. Go and place them in your dungeon or something."

The boss instantly stood up. "Yes, my liege. Shall I torture them too?"

Azviel frowned. He wasn't into torture and making people feel pain. He only liked to release himself by killing things. He shook his head. "No. Just keep them there. Alive."

The captain picked both of the players up and headed towards the tree root. "Yes, my liege."

Falziel looked towards the tree root. "I sense demonic energy coming from the tree." Azviel rolled his eyes. "It's a place where demons live. Of course there would be demonic energy."

Falziel shook his head and narrowed his eyes, a serious expression on his face. "No, it's something much darker. As if something huge is about to break out."
