Chapter 74 : Hyuga Rena's Combat

Hyuga Rena gazed at the puppets with her innocent eyes and spoke lightly, "I'll handle this."

Without awaiting Shisui's response, veins bulged at the corners of Hyuga Rena's eyes, and she instantly rolled them. Dodging obstacles, she swiftly approached the nearest terracotta warrior.

"Soft Fist!"

Hyuga Rena assumed a poised stance, and before the terracotta warrior could react, she delivered a powerful palm strike to its armor. Following the impact, Rena Hyuga quickly distanced herself.

"Boom!"

Almost immediately, the terracotta warrior exploded, scattering into fragments on the ground. Before the debris settled, Hyuga Rena had transformed into an afterimage, seamlessly blending with another Ghost warrior.

"Bang, bang, bang!"

Explosions echoed successively as, within moments, Hyuga Rena single-handedly dealt with a dozen or so Ghost warriors. The puppets proved ineffective in mounting a resistance.

Throughout the confrontation, Hyuga Rena showed no signs of strain, appearing entirely at ease.

Uchiha Natsu felt a slight surprise, recalling Hyuga Rena's earlier statement in the medical department: "My combat ability is average. If we all go to the battlefield, we may still need Natsu Kun's protection."

Her prowess far exceeded the impression she had given back then. Uchiha Shisui and Uzuki Yugao also shared this sentiment. They had initially perceived Rena Hyuga as a weak medical ninja, but her Soft Fist displayed remarkable speed and strength.

With Sharingan active, Shisui had keenly observed Hyuga Rena's use of Chakra in the puppets. It was evident that Rena skillfully infused Chakra into the puppet, triggering a rapid reaction upon withdrawal.

For a normal Hyuga clan member, achieving such proficiency would require over a decade of dedicated training. Yet, Hyuga Rena, primarily focused on medical ninjutsu, lacked the time for extensive combat training.

The three simultaneously arrived at the same conclusion: genius.

After eliminating the surrounding puppets, Hyuga Rena clapped her hands and rejoined Natsu Uchiha and the others. She reverted to her usual appearance, a quiet and beautiful girl, seemingly transformed from the previous powerhouse.

Uchiha Natsu, about to praise her, found Hyuga Rena sporting an expectant expression, almost demanding acknowledgment.

Uchiha Natsu casually remarked, "Let's move; with so many puppets here, the witch may be in danger."

Shisui, quick to respond, added, "We must hasten; we should arrive in time."

The two turned away, leaving Hyuga Rena disheartened. Throughout the corpse disposal class, she had refrained from revealing her strength to Uchiha Natsu, fearing it would create distance between them.

Now, realizing her futile attempt to impress him, Hyuga Rena followed, deflated.

During their journey, the two women improved their camaraderie, chatting amiably while chasing after Uchiha Natsu. By the time they caught up, they had become like sisters, addressing each other affectionately.

Uchiha Natsu and Uchiha Shisui, astonished by the swift transformation, marveled at the unpredictable nature of women's friendships.

Unperturbed, Uchiha Natsu continued the journey, eventually reaching the Ghost Country's capital within a day. Along the way, they encountered various puppets, swiftly neutralizing them as a team.

Approaching the city walls, there were no immediate signs of puppets. The Ghost Country's capital seemed yet untouched.

Puppets lacked speed, restricted to walking, making Uchiha Natsu's leaping pace twice as fast. Thus, the ghost army hadn't arrived yet.

Traveling day and night, the four reached the capital just in time. Close to the city gate, archers on the walls aimed at them.

"Who are you?" demanded a soldier dressed differently, appearing atop the city gate.

All eyes turned to Uchiha Natsu, awaiting his response. Stepping forward, he declared, "We are Konoha ninjas, responding to your country's plea for assistance. We're here to support Miko-sama."

"Reinforcements!" The guard exclaimed, recognizing Konoha's forehead protector on Uchiha Natsu.

As the city gate opened, the guard approached the group. However, upon scrutinizing the area, he looked suspicious.

"Friends from the Land of Fire, where are the rest of you?" he inquired, halting not far from Uchiha Natsu.

Uchiha Natsu shook her head, stating, "We're the only ones sent to protect the priestess."

The guard's expression froze upon hearing this revelation.
