Mass Evolution ... and pain

*Rustle*

Disturbed by the sudden noise that came from the entrance at the cave Sarah shot up on her feet growling towards the direction of the sound as a warning only to realise that a draught of wind was coming in rustling the leaves. Looking outside through the bush she could roughly tell it was just past dawn.

*Slow Exhale of Breath*

"Just as well it was only the wind. Even if it was a weaker animal, if caught while sleeping I would still shed a layer of skin to it" she warned herself internally. Calming down she moves on to the evolution tab and sees that she has 16 Evolution points available to be used. Breathing slowly in and out Sarah prepared herself for the pain she would be going through today. "Place 1 Evolution point on legs" she states to the Evolution tab.

"Confir..." The Evolution tab was going to ask for her to confirm but Sarah was impatient to get her evolution over and done with so she ended up interrupting it "Just shut it and get it over with, stop trying to confirm my choices.". Perhaps as a vengeance of its own the Status' voice then did as it was told and just started the procedure which placed Sarah in more pain as she wasn't expecting the Status to just start and thought it would try and confirm her choice like the collation of points. Legs trembling she was forced to lie back down on the ground as her leg muscles spasmed repeatedly whilst condensing and growing more muscle back to fill in the gap left and then condensing the newly growing muscle.

~Half an hour later~

"Congratulations: Legs are now Rank 1"

The process stopped itself yet this was only the first of many evolutions that Sarah would have to do today. Next on the agenda was her claws, this time it was less painful than before but that didn't mean there wasn't any pain at all it just meant the pain was more bearable than her other evolutions. She felt like she was a shark as just like a shark can lose their teeth and grow new ones, her claws were repeatedly growing and then popping out of her paws growing bigger and sharper each time.

~Twenty minutes later~

"Congratulations: Claws are now Rank 1"

"Senses" Stubbornly, Sarah held on to continue her evolution. At least until she had gotten all of them to Rank 1 respectively. Falling to the ground she started wriggling about lashing out at the ground as the pain was unbearable. Her eyes felt like someone was fiercely rubbing her eyes, her nose was being smashed down on by a hammer and then being repaired becoming more sensitive. She felt the familiar sensation of ants crawling all over her body which she guessed was related to her sense of touch and her tongue felt like it was being rubbed down by sandpaper and then repaired.

~Forty minutes later~

"Congratulations: Senses now Rank 1"

"Tail" Still persisting to finish what she had started she moved onto the tail. The evolution process for the tail was the same as the evolution process for the legs.

~Twenty five minutes later~

"Congratulations: Tail now Rank 1"

"Teeth" Stated Sarah drearily wishing it was finished already but knew that she couldn't run from it every time as that would constrict her growth. Backing down is not something she will ever do in this life as she will never tolerate being someone's toy or pawn like her last life where even her 'maids' could do anything they wanted to her. Sarah was pleasantly surprised to find that she wasn't actually in pain for this evolution, it felt more like an itch. An insatiable itch that wouldn't go away no matter how much you scratched … actually, you know what she was kind of wishing for pain instead of an itch now. At least with the pain she wouldn't feel the urge to claw at her own face to try and dig out her teeth.

~Ten Minutes Later~

"Congratulations: Teeth are now Rank 1"

Along with that notification came a hidden surprise which Sarah felt the pain and itch was slightly worth it now.

"Congratulations: Conditions fulfilled - All body parts Rank 1. You have unlocked 2 Attribute points"

"Put them in Agility" She said wondering what would happen if she evolved everything to Rank 2, would she get the same or possibly more? Sarah decided to take a break before continuing on with her evolution.

Heading out towards the lake she went in for a quick dip as her fur was slightly matted with the sweat that came out whilst she was evolving. Looking up she noticed that the sun was half way up to the sky, she was guessing it was roughly eight to nine in the morning. "I should finish up and head back so that i get to the rabbits on time" Slightly getting a bit faster in finishing up she was gauging when she should leave for the rabbits burrows. After finishing up she headed back to the tree to get her evolutions over with. "After that round of evolutions, I've got ... sixten minus five is ... eleven. Ok, so I've got 11 Evolution points left to spend which means five Rank 2 evolutions with one spare Evolution point" Sarah calculated in her head while re-hiding the entrance with the bush again. "OK, lets begin I guess" she ruminated as she began a whole new round of torture for herself.

~Three hours later~

Sarah was back outside in the lake washing herself off. Now that it was done, she only needed to get more points for her teeth and tail to go through their Rank 2 Evolution. Getting out of the lake she starts shaking herself off to dry her fur as much as possible. Dried off she starts following the same path she took to get to the rabbit burrows.

~One hour and ten minutes later~

Nothing much happened on the way apart from some idiotic snakes that thought they had gotten her with their lousy hiding skills. From that experience she gained 4 Evolution points as she had killed three snakes but two of the snakes were a different snake. It had green and brown stripes which was a type of snake she didn't learn about back on earth as she didn't take much interest in animals, she was more interested in weapons especially katanas, as she watched a lot of Japanese historical films, which had been wielded by samurai warriors (termed as Bushi or Buke) in early-modern Japan and they were usually the military nobles or officer caste. Anyway enough about that. She had also gained 416 Experience points from killing the snakes. She killed two snakes that were three levels higher than herself and one that was five levels higher than herself. When she found out that it was actually five levels higher than herself she was slightly startled at her power as she thought that it was going to be like those supposed popular MMORPG back on earth where the higher levels basically ruled over the lower ones. Well, she knew she had already killed rabbits that were a higher level than her but she thought it was because rabbits were an inherently weak species that were herbivores who didn't hunt others which meant they only levelled because it was their natural growth that propelled their level however snakes were a different matter as they were hunter with some species that wouldn't lose out all that much compared to wolves.

Continuing on she waited for the rabbits to come out again. Luckily she timed it relatively fine as the rabbits came out after five minutes of waiting, to which she then proceed to stealthily follow them to the feeding spot again and then picking of the rabbits at the lone bushes. The results once she had finished were quite satisfying as she once again left like a fleeting shadow under the fall of the sun.

~One hour and twenty minutes later~

Arriving at the lake Sarah takes in a few drinks of water before moving back to the cave. Laying down inside she is now prepared to check her gains from today and as per usual has invested her attribute points into Agility.

After looking at the results of just one days work she was looking forward to the following days however what she didn't know was that she was just lucky with her hunt today. They won't be as fruitful as before as only a few rare rabbits make it to Level 4 and above and she happened to kill most of them that ate at the lone bushes today and as the future goes on she'll have less higher levelled rabbits to eat as although rabbits procreate fast it will all be Level 1 babies that will give way less experience than someone of her level as it halves the experience for every level below. This was to prevent indiscriminate slaughter to get experience. Heading to sleep she decides to just rest for tomorrow and relax.
