Avatar Spirits

With there being 7 great empires and other small nations, powerful gigantic beasts, spawning monsters, a ravaging war against demons and greed for resources and territory, power was what ruled this world and one major very critical factor that determined how much power one could have was one's avatar spirit.

 In this world, everyone was born with the potential to awaken mana, an energy that granted a person the ability to create miracles and calamities but then just like everything that was good, awakening mana wasn't an easy feat.

 Awakening mana required years of hard physical training and this energy would have been limited to people in their thirties if it wasn't for avatar spirits.

 You see hundreds of years ago, avatar spirits were something only people who had awakened their mana and then trained it to a very high level could have but then an event referred to as the green comet happened.

 There were several different stories of the event, but the basic summary was that hundreds of years ago, a meteorite crashed into the planet and on penetrating through its atmosphere it split into several fragments.

 None knew how many fragments it broke into, but what was known was that these fragments which became known as spirit stones became one of the foundations of the 7 empires and any other notable force in the world and this was because these stones could awaken the avatar spirit of anyone in the world as long as they were 8 years old.

 The ability of spirit stones to awaken one avatar spirit made them precious treasures and their value only further increased when it was realised that as long as one activated their avatar spirit, they would also awaken their mana.

 The existence of spirit stones saw a seriously massive rise in the number of people who could use mana in the world, these people soon becoming known as mages.

 Unfortunately just as the world had always been with all people not being born equal, the same thing happened with avatar spirits and soon there was a ranking for them based on their potential.

Of course unfortunately, there was the level zero avatar spirits, these being spirits that couldn't manifest themselves and whose only perceived look was the awakening of one's mana.

 There were the level 1 avatar spirits, those being spirits that took on the form of inanimate objects, the spirits unable to communicate with their owner.

 There were the level 2 avatar spirits, these still being spirits in the form of inanimate objects, but this time able to communicate with their owner through thoughts or feelings.

 After the level 2 avatar spirit now came the level 3 avatar spirits, and it was from here that powerhouses began being made.

 Level 3 avatar spirits came in the form of animals that could talk with you through thoughts and with time speech, and this is the category into which Emily and Maria fell.

 The level 4 spirits were also animals, but the difference here was that they were mythical animals, creatures which were recorded as myths and legends.

 Someone with a level 4 avatar spirit was seen to be a potential leader and even perhaps even an emperor.

 The last ranking of avatar spirit is the level 5 avatar spirit, and so far its existence only existed in rumours and never in any public document.

 Level 5 avatar spirits were said to come in the form of humans or celestial creatures, celestial, celestial creatures being beings that looked like humans.

 There was a weak rumour about the princess of Mamonth empire, the empire which Tion was currently in, having a level 5 avatar spirit, and while that had never been confirmed and was probably a lie, the one thing that was true and that everyone knew was that Tagery Tion, the one and only prince of the Mamonth empire had a level 1 after spirit.

 "Well that was true until 2 months ago" Tion muttered as he sat down cross-legged in front of his gourd which was beginning to have arcs of lightning appearing around it.

"..."

 "So what do we do know, does that mean we have to release that spirit and also forget about using this sword" Tion muttered as he took the blade he had strapped to his back off and placed it on his lap."

"...."

 "Wait what, you can use it to increase my mana pool"

"...."

 "What the hell, what didn't u tell me you could this earlier," Tion said jumping to his feet.

"....."

 "Oh you just discovered the ability"

"..."

 "Urghh just thinking of the several spirits we could have absorbed and used to increase my mana reserves depresses me, but then again better late than never" Tion thought thinking of the several spirits he would get to absorb in the future.

 "Say if you crush the spirit and use it to expand my pool will I still get the memories "

"..."

 "That's rather unfortunate, but I guess I can't win them all, that I can already increase my mana pool is going to be such a massive boost to my strength," Tion thought with a grin.

"...."

 "Alright, so we don't get caught off guard by any unexpected side effects or fancy display, I'm going to stay here while you turn Baldy's spirit to mana fertiliser.

 How long will it take"

"....."

 "You don't know," Tion thought facepalming with a groan and walking to a shelf to the side.

 "Well I've got enough food here to last me 2 weeks, the only problem is Ciara and Aunt Mei, they're going to be waiting for me, and unfortunately, I can't go too far from my avatar spirit"

"And with Prince Tion's help, we were able to successfully capture C rank mage Konrad." Leah finished saying, her body at attention and hand to the sides.

 Beside Leah were Emily and Mariah to her left and right respectively.

 At the moment, the three were e in a nicely large white office filled with white ornament and flowers and close to the back, at the centre of the room, there was a big white desk with several books, paper and pens on it, and behind this table was a woman with white flowing hair that went all the way down her body, reaching her buttocks.

 This woman was Ragnar Denise and she was the Empress of the Mamonth empire and also the mother of Tagery Tion.
