I Can Talk to the Essence of Everything

Liam is a typical spoon-fed rich guy who tossed it all out the window. Well, he wasn't exactly specific as he could control the world… that is if he wanted to do that. He was more into adventure and learning. You could call him the curious cat, as his curiosity brought him a lot of trouble. He is the only person who can see and interact with the condensed forms of matter. He calls them Avatars of the World, but they call him a World Reader. It's a name they didn't come up with; instead, they knew what he was without any idea what it meant. They also felt the need to protect the child of the worlds, which brought them the Worlds Readers anger as he didn't like being protected to this extent. The trouble came searching for him, and that trouble would come at him every time… Fortunately, Liam decides to explore the trouble that one seed brought him, as it seems he has no other choice. He lands on a new planet and decides to learn more about it. Then, finally, starting to feel excited by all the strangeness and meeting some terrifying things and humans with strange kinds of social hierarchy. At least he won't be bored anymore, is what he thinks. '**' There will be a tiny mention of a system later, but that is just a small part. And that would happen after he completes an assignment he does not know about. **** Art, not mine. I don't know the artist either. Sorry. If the artist finds this and doesn't like that I'm using it, please let me know, and I'll take it down.

Firts Impresions

In a forest, far farther than anyone knew on earth. A silver light flashed. A body appeared in mid-air. Floated for a moment, before it fell.

One would expect the fall to have a hard sound but something different occurred.

Splat!

That person who fell was in fact, Liam. He was somewhat distraught as he struggled to get out of that gooey mess. Not once did he think about what he fell into. But as his senses started to work properly, he felt as though something smelled wrong. Well, not wrong, just badly.

As he finally looked around at the gooey mess he was in, an understanding hit him. He fell literally in a pile of shit. How bad could his luck be?

He got out of it, thinking to wipe it off at first but then reconsidered, halting his movements. After all, he was in an unknown location. This could be used as camouflage and it would ward off prey that otherwise would just attack. He wasn't familiar with this place and he didn't know what kind of creatures would live here.

He looked around curiously. The forest around him felt sort of familiar but also foreign. At first glance, it wasn't any different than the forest he stayed in before coming here, but the light shone differently here. Everything somehow sparkled in a certain way. It was not glittering, the forest seemed to be made differently. He went toward a fern bush that was nearby, he touched it gently but still, it drew out blood. It was sharp, but not strong, it was pliant and could cut. A defensive mechanism for its survival.

A gentle breeze bast by his face. Lifting up a few fallen leaves that brushed past him. He felt a sudden sting on his arm that was exposed. He looked at it to notice that a cut had appeared on his skin. Then he looked at the leaf that had just passed by his arm, it had the same sheen.

He then caught another leaf and looked at it closely. He broke it apart by folding it.

Its texture reminded him of metal.

Could it be possible that the plant system is all integrated with some kind of metal? Interesting.

Then he stopped wondering at the question when he heard a crack, a branch being broken. He suddenly became alert and hid under the giant fern bush. After all, he didn't know the environment, the predators, or the prey, all was unknown to him.

He stayed there, looking around vigilantly. He saw nothing, heard nothing, and didn't even feel anything dangerous around. He stayed there for an hour before thinking that it might have been his imagination. He had been crouching under the fern bush that was situated next to a large pine tree. He stared at the texture of the tree, studying it. After a while, he forgot why he had been hunkering under the bush and changed his position into something more comfortable. Either way, he was still hidden from view on every side. He started to peel off a piece of it. It sliced his finger, drawing blood, again. Nonetheless, he continued until he had gotten the piece. He looked at it from all angles, broke it in half, and stared at the inside, wondering.

It has the same structure as a metal on earth. But why are trees metallic?

It had been several hours since he had hidden and suddenly he remembered why he had hidden. He looked around cautiously but didn't find anything of interest. He then crawled out of the place and looked around and stretched. Seeing nothing dangerous around he looked at the landscape. It didn't look any different from earth. Maybe only plants have integrated with metal. His eyes landed on a small hill or a rock protrusion. He started walking toward it only to stop a few meters away from it.

He suddenly noticed that it was not a hill or a rock or anything of that kind. The hill-like thing looked to be moving, steadily. It actually looked like breathing.

Liam shook his head after the thought hit him.

Nonetheless, he acted cautiously after that. Sneaking around it to see what the hell it was. After ten minutes he reached the other side. He finally figured out where the head was and was now looking at it like the world was ending. Desperation is clearly written on his face.

How could that be? It was not possible.

Well, it actually was, but his mind had completely shut down and was going through a restart. Its progress bar is somewhere in the middle.

A puff of hot breath landed on him. He could smell the creatures' foul breath, it also brought on the urge to vomit, but he had to hold it in, or that thing might wake up. It was a big problem if that thing woke up.

If considering sizes then he would be like a toothpick to that monstrosity. Well, not exactly, but that thing could swallow him whole and he had no chance of fighting back.

Back on earth, people kept fossilized bones of this creature in museums.

Liam never thought he could see one alive and on top of that, it was a few times bigger as well. His brain rebooting accelerated a lot after feeling the hot breath. After it finished, Liam's eyes started to shine again.

Processing has been completed.

Next moment he vanished from the spot, running as fast as his feet could move. He didn't know in which direction he was running, he just wanted to create as much distance as possible between him and that damn dinosaur-looking creature, that looked a lot like the tyrannosaurus depictions on earth albeit a few times bigger, which was terrifying. Liam hadn't paid attention to anything else, thus unable to see the other dangerous features it now had.

This was the first time he had ever felt this kind of fear. This was turning into a driving force for him. As he ran, he realized how damn pathetically weak he was.

The training he did in the forest back on earth did pay off as he ran through the forest without any sound. That felt good, but it also felt lacking. He realized that earth is too safe of a place.

He slowed his pace about half an hour after leaving the creature. He started looking around carefully. There were no other creatures around.

It was getting late and he need a place to lay low and rest up.

He didn't find any caves, but a large tree was visible from a distance.

Let's start the exploration of the first planet.
