40 HE ISN'T IN THE KINGDOM

"This is a promise. I'm inviting prince Gen over." Prince Liang said as he pleaded with princess Jia.

"You lied to me that you never went to a wedding ceremony, yet, you told father that he was married."

Princess Jia spoke as tears dripped down her cheeks.

" But…"

"I would rather not hear any excuse from you. I hate you as my brother!" Princess Jia yelled at him. She was so upset to a degree that she almost slapped him.

"I still stand my ground that I didn't lie to you. Why aren't getting what I'm saying?"

" Then you lied to father. You neither lied to me nor father. Which one?"

She angrily asked, but prince Liang took his gaze away from her and kept silent.

" Have you finally become dumb? Go on and answer my question. You want to fool us, right?"

" See, I didn't lie to you, neither did I lie to father. It's just that father didn't understand what I was saying." Prince Liang tried to lie.

" Tell me what you told him that he didn't understand." Princess Jia sniffed and crossed her arms over her chest.

" I… Hmm. Look here, I have promised you to invite prince Gen over. So, I see no reasons for all these questions."

" You're trying to get angry because your lies have been revealed, right?"

" Should I invite him or not?" Prince Liang asked as he ignored her question.

She glared at him for a few minutes before asking him," When will you invite him over?"

"This morning." Prince Liang answered with a serious tone.

"Huh? This early morning? How?"

"Should I invite him or not? I don't understand why you like asking unnecessary questions. He's a good friend of mine. So, do you think it would be hard?"

Prince Liang was about to get upset with her. Princess Jia bit her lower lip as she imagined seeing prince Gen in her presence.

" What a pleasure?"

" It occurred that you're the one asking countless questions now. If he came, then invite him then. I will be waiting for his arrival."

Princess Jia responded and wiped her tears away. She smiled at him, and prince Gen smiled back.

Prince Liang left princess Jia's room. He was taken by his carriage and accompany by four of his men.

Princess Jia called her handmaid to quickly tidy up her room before prince Gen arrived.

She has finally regained the happiness she has lost a couple of times now.

"My Lady, you seem to be excited." Her handmaid said.

"Well, yes, I am. This is because my dream is about to come to past." Princess Jia excitedly said.

" This calls for celebration, right, My Lady?"

"Not so fast. We're going to celebrate, but not today." Princess Jia responded.

"Alright, My Lady. We're always here for you."

"Thank you," princess Jia appreciated.

"My pleasure, My Lady." Her handmaid responded before taking her leave.

Prince Liang got to Decresh kingdom, and he was welcomed with sad news about his good friend.

"What happened exactly?" Prince Liang asked commander Bingwen.

"No one knows. He was found laying breathless in the garden and Her Highness was also laying collapsed closed to him." Commander Bingwen responded.

"But fate has it that he injured himself by hitting and punching the wall so hard with his forehead and fist. This is because Her Highness's handmaid claims that she slept in her room the previous night."

Commander Bingwen added.

" Something must have happened before this. Did anyone annoy him in any way?" Prince Liang inquired and commander Bingwen explained everything that happened the previous day.

" Where's His Majesty? Please take me to him, I need to see him now!"

" Yes, Your Highness." Commander Bingwen bowed to him.

Commander Bingwen led him to king Wang Lei.

"Greetings, Your Majesty." Prince Gen bowed and greeted king Wang Lei.

"Greetings, prince Liang. A son after his father's heart. Welcome to our great kingdom once more." King Wang Lei welcomed him before offering him a seat.

" Thank you, Your Majesty. But I don't think I sit here while my friend is dying. Please, Your Majesty, permit me to take him to my kingdom for proper medication."

Prince Liang spoke, but the only thing king Wang Lei could do is to stare at prince Liang in surprise.

"Your Majesty, his situation is crucial, and you know that he might lose his life if the proper medication is not given. He needs strong herbs to be cured. " Prince Liang added.

"But we have a herbalist who is already doing his work. So, why are you taking him away?" King Wang Lei softly asked.

"Your Majesty, I believed that Her Highness was the cause of this incident. He needs to stay away from her until he's completely cured."

" Do you think taking him away is the best?"

" Yes, Your Majesty. He would stay under my care until he's okay."

" Hmph, well, if you insist, then so be it. I wouldn't want him to lose his life. He's my only hope."

" I appreciate Your Majesty. I'm taking him as soon as possible."

" You have my words."

Prince Liang bowed to king Wang Lei before leaving his presence. He went to the room where prince Gen was laid.

Prince Gen's wounds were being cleaned with herbs by the herbalist. He wasn't awake yet, but they believed that he only fainted, and he would be awake after a while.

"I'm leaving with him right away." Prince Liang said to commander Bingwen as he stood over prince Gen, who was laying breathless on the mat.

"Why?" Commander Bingwen asked.

"I have the king's words, should in case you think him away on my own. I'm doing this for his benefit." Prince Liang explained.

"I and my men will escort you then."

"I don't have any issue with that."

Prince Liang said and informed his men to bring the carriage closer to the room.

Prince Liang took prince Gen away, and commander Bingwen and a few of his men escorted them.

Princess Fen finally woke up from her long slumber. Shu and some other maidens who have been fanning and sprinkling her water stood ad they stared at her.

She woke up feeling dizzy and weak.

Princess Fen slowly opened her eyes. The images appearing weren't clear in her eyes. She could only feel that people were standing around him.

"My Lady! My Lady! Are you okay?" Shu called out as she supported her to sit.

"What happened?" Princess Fen asked.

"We don't know. You passed out."

"Passed out? How?" Princess Fen was confused.

Shu and the other stared at each other without uttering a word.

"Where's His Highness?" Princess Fen finally asked as she regained her senses.

"H-he is…" Shu stuttered.

"He is what?"

No one answered and the princess stood up and ran to the garden where she met laying helpless, but she didn't find him.

She went to their chamber to check on him, yet, he wasn't there.

"Where's His Highness?" Princess Fen asked one of the guards.

"Prince Liang of Luna kingdom came and took him away." The guard replied.

"What! Did he take him away? How long is he going to stay there?"

"Until he is completely cured."

On hearing this, princess Fen was cold to her bones. Different thoughts hit her so hard that she almost burst into tears.

She turned around and lazily walked away. Shu rushed to her to render some help, but princess Fen stopped her from coming closer to her.
