Lies and Deception

"What are this?"

At that moment it felt like my head was going to blow up, it hurt so much.

System? That girl? Rooftop? "Survive"? Blood? Knife? Bus Stop?

Flashed before my eyes.

"Snow?

"Ah, I caught a snowflake in my hand."

At that moment I remembered how I got stabbed. Who stabbed me.

"Are you okay?"

Muffled voices

Ah, it hurts my face, hazy vision.

Muffled voices

What is this feeling? I was going deep underwater, unable to swim up. The light went further and further and it only got darker, before the light disappeared. I was surrounded by darkness. I was struggling to go up, I was only going deeper and deeper...

It felt heavy in my chest. I was drowning.

"It hurts."

Slap, it hurts

"Breath, Breath, Breath"

Ah, I sat up, breathing heavily.

She took a breath of relief leaning back on her arm.

The Person who stabbed me was? None other then. Me?

But why did I stab myself? Am I forgetting something important?

"My ears are Ringing."

"Survive, Run and Never Stop Running"

A voice of an Old Man.

I remember that man.

I looked around, everything was melting away. What is this?

I woke up, sweating and heavy breathing.

I looked around only to find the fire was out and that woman was sound asleep next to me.

I got out of the tent, the skewers of meat were still there but they were completely frozen.

I sat on a small stone wall, looking below the mountain, life down there was so complicated.

"I don't want to be born again as human"

I took a pack of cigarettes out of the item box, it was my first time smoking. I coughed immediately, just after taking a puff.

Looking at the moon, I sat there with the light in my hand thinking about the camp.

If it really didn't happen, if there were no government and evacuation camps didn't actually exist then what was that camp? Are all those people real? Did it really happen? Was the camp all lies and deception, then what was its purpose, to entrap me or to kill me, did the system know the child would be the end of me?

Back in the camp when I asked myself what would happen, when all the hope is gone? Now I know the answer to it, when the hope is gone we just stay still and reflect back to what had gone wrong what led us here, before giving up or retrying.

And now it was my time to choose one way over the other.

Who was the girl who gave me the system fragments?

"But I guess it really happened since I can still see the system"

And who was that girl referring to as "they"?

What was the memory of that person telling me to "survive, and run"

"System"

[Listening..]

"What are you?"

The system did not answer that. In fact, it never answered that.

That night I couldn't do anything else. I sat there waiting for the morning. Guarding the camp

At the first light of dawn, I broke into the equipment building of the radio tower

looking for tools, first aid kits, or anything I could use to treat her leg, but since the chances of that were close to zero, Thus my second objective was to look for something that would help me to move her, So I would be able to carry her to the superstore.

And I found something that would be able to do that, a motorbike and It would be manageable to make it through in between the cars, So, it was the best option and the only option for now except carrying her on my back which would have been an impossible task for me.

But the only problem was that I couldn't find the keys to the bike. But it was not a time to falter in front of this situation.

With the tools I had, it was not an impossible feat to start a bike, thus I sat there in front of it trying to figure out what to do, after some time and checking if everything was incorrect order and if it actually had gas in it. I began to look for the bundle of wires to start it up, finally, upon finding the plug I was able to start it up.

When I came back with it to the campsite she was already awake.

"Where did you find this bike?"

I pointed at the tower, she laughed.

"How did you start it up?"

"The wires"

"The keys were in my backpack, where is my backpack?"

I got my stove and cooking utensils out and began cooking us breakfast. Bacon and cheese sandwich.

Moving for her has to be difficult, I assumed. So, I served it to her in the bed.

"We would be going to the superstore, today," I told

"How?"

Pointing at the bike

"That, I will help you get on. if you can just hold on to me tight, We would be able to reach there I think"

She looked, really?

After breakfast, I packed up the campsite. She asked me to take all the guns we had found last night and bring them with us.

To which I obliged knowing the things that I might have to face again in the future it would be much better to have guns, but the only problem was bullets since those were not infinite. So when the bullet ran out they would be useless. So I will have to conserve them as much as possible, I thought.

I put everything in the <item box>.

Then I helped her get on the bike she held onto me tightly as possible.

"Don't let go"

I ramped the throttle and flew down the mountain as fast as possible. Crossing the village, then into the main road where it was congested with cars, so I got on the sidewalk and rode as fast as I could.

I rode my bike into the superstore and parked inside before I helped her get down from it and placed her on a chair and I found a wheelchair for her from where they were so she could move around as she wanted by herself.

"Who were those men back there?"

"I don't know, I encountered them when I was in the base station, then they saw me so I ran, and tried to send distress signals with the radio."

I didn't know if I could trust her or not but for now, I had no option but to stick with her and it was better than when I was talking to myself cause I was alone and the system refused to talk to me. For now, my first priority was to figure out a way to treat her. Find a hospital.

the past few chapters, it might have felt a bit rushed and sorry for that, if it did. i don't have a back log of chapter pre written to upload everyday, So, it's a bit difficult currently, once i have 2-3 chapters backlogged that won't be a issue anymore

If you do like it, then don't forget to add it to your collection/library. also reviews will really help, if you do like it then leaving a review would be really amazing to cheerup the author.
