Extinction (6)

The two sides of the shining ball of light exploded, causing mass devastation throughout the Heavenly Mystic Domain's Outer region.

Two domes appeared. They were bright and silver and constantly expand while devouring wherever they went. Rapidly expanding, one dome destroyed everything on one side while the other dome was defused by Orion as it unluckily came across the group of viewers.

A massive chasm separated the remainder of the Outer region and the barrier to the Inner region and as if to mark the end of this chasm, embedded into the edge of the chasm was the long katana that had finished its tribulation.

"Oh, it has already developed a spirit?" Lucas, seeing the actions of this sword and understanding what this meant voiced out. His tone still held a tinge of surprise upon realizing what the sword's actions meant for its development.

"Well, I assume this isn't the most shocking thing. Merely a few minutes ago it released an aura at the level of a Superb Treasure and now it is releasing the aura of a True Treasure.

Developing a consciousness soo quickly should be expected from a weapon that is capable of growing stronger along with the user." Lucas assessed.

The katana that had black etchings running across its blade suddenly vibrated as it seemed to have sensed Lucas who had descended to the edge of the large and expansive chasm. Slowly, it escaped the earth that it had stabbed into as it floated mid-air.

"Become mine!" Lucas, sensing the interesting concept behind this treasure couldn't help but become a little greedy for such a treasure capable of growing in the realm. Who was to say that it wouldn't be capable of being used whilst he has officially broken into the True Immortal realm?

To make a treasure that had already developed a consciousness of its own submit to him, Lucas would need to release a soul imprint via the use of a special technique powered by the mysterious sage energy that dealt heavily with the soul and mind.

Outstretching his hand and releasing a mysterious force that pulled the sword closer to his palm, Lucas prepared to make this treasure previously owned by Oblivion, his own. Grabbing hold of it, he couldn't help but release a radiant smile.

"Hehe, when that self-proclaimed Creator reappears, this is bound to give him a huge surprise. Such a beneficial treasure, I assume that I'll have no choice but to thank him." Lucas said as he simultaneously infused his sage energy using the special technique into the katana.

The time it takes for a complete submission wasn't long. Depending on the power difference between the treasure's consciousness and the one who sought to be the treasure's master's consciousness, would depend on how long it would take.

Compared to the katana that had now become a True Treasure, Lucas's soul which was on the verge of being sublimated with the power of a True Immortal was too powerful.

So in a few moments, Lucas's grin widened as he realized his will was slowly being carved into the depths of the weapon's consciousness.

Due to the residue of the collisions between Lucas and Oblivion, the winds were hot and cold at the same time. Lucas took a deep breath in as he felt the heat trying to freeze his lungs but it didn't affect him at all.

Time passed. More time than he believed was needed to overwrite the connection the treasure had with Oblivion's mind but, even then, Lucas was unable to completely etch his will into the sword's consciousness. Reaching this point, some uneasiness grew in his heart.

Rumble!

Earth-shaking tremors shook the outer region of the heavenly mystic domain. Lucas's expression froze for a moment before his face darkened and at the same time, a black shadow flashed out of the depths of the chasm before shooting up to the skies and thereafter descending onto the surface several meters away from Lucas.

Several thousand miles away, Dawn and the others saw two figures facing each other. One with a sword and the other with his hands on his waist. But, suddenly, taking away their attention were the actions of the prime immortals clustered together, the prime immortals who stood against Oblivion.

Puchi! Shhhhhhh~!

Out of the blue, lines appeared on the necks of several prime immortals and right after, the heads of these prime immortals exploded. Splashing into the skies was blood and whitish goo that was soon enveloped by a mysterious force that seemed to negate its very existence, erasing it for good, as if it was never present.

Soon, this same force erased any trace of these immortals as their headless bodies were also annihilated. Such a shocking sight immediately caused Dawn and the others to comprehend what had just taken place.

As while Liam and Henry felt appalled by the fact that Oblivion moved soo quickly that they didn't even perceive the afterimages of his movements, Dawn felt his heart thump with unknown emotion and desire.

"You know, you should have stopped me from doing that..." Oblivion's voice resounded in the environment as he conveyed to Lucas with an arrogant persona and his hands on his waist.

"No, I'm simply soo pissed that I could care less for those weaklings. Are you trying to make fun of me by allowing me to think that I'd gain a treasure only for me to realize that my technique to acquire this treasure is useless on it..?" Lucas said in a low voice, trying to restrain his aura.

He felt as if he had just been played by Oblivion. Even after trying for soo long, he remained stuck in one place while trying to infuse his will into this treasure.

"What do you mean?" Oblivion seemed offended. "I simply wanted to give you a huge surprise that you'd even be willing to thank me for the thing. Who'd have thought your willpower was soo feeble that you couldn't even etch it into the newly born consciousness of a True Treasure?"

Oblivion joked, raising Lucas's anger even more. He wasn't worried even when realizing Lucas tried to etch his will into the treasure.

The old man who gave him this weapon back before he was even an immortal cultivator did promise him that no one other than himself would be capable of using it.

The only reason that he, Oblivion, was even capable of using it was solely due to him and Saber being conceptually the same soul. He was Saber, and Saber was himself.

They were always meant to remain that way but due to the ancient universe's consciousness outside of his core that even penetrated past his core and into the world inside, the Void-Deity people would have no choice as they would be split apart into Void people and Deities only to fight and kill their other half.

He, Oblivion, and Saber were capable of resisting such effects only after splitting and only because they were both the true reincarnation of Pure-Heart.

Anyway, Lucas's silver eyes spewed out silvery flames. These flames circled both Lucas and Oblivion the moment they appeared. The multiple hundred miles around the duo were simply inside of a massive ring created from the silver flames.

These flames rose into the skies until they formed a dome-like structure, and Oblivion's shoulders instantly felt as if they were pressed down by countless tons of force.

Trillions of galaxies pressed down on Oblivion's shoulders. Lucas waved his hand, throwing the sword at Oblivion.

"Use it... I'll destroy you even while you manipulate that shitty thing. Once your soul is destroyed, the connection between that weapon's consciousness and yours will be severed anyway. Then, let me see if you can resist my will."

Lucas stated this but, Oblivion, under the pressure of trillions of galaxies, couldn't possibly raise his hand to grab onto his weapon.
