Birth Of The Undead Army (8)

Rumble!

The earth trembled due to shockwaves sent out by the clash. High in the sky, two figures attacked, each blow capable of destroying solar systems. Hundreds of blows in fractions of seconds.

One of the figures, a young man, wielded a long-bladed sword, while the other wielded a golden spear that seemed to move on its own.

This spear twisted and turned in the air, defying logic as it tried to penetrate the young man's defenses.

The spear-wielder smirked confidently, his middle-aged features gleaming in the sunlight, possessing a demonic attractiveness. After thousands of strikes, the duo came to a sudden halt.

"I didn't expect some random dude to give me such a challenge!" The middle-aged man happily proclaimed. "The hell's tower sure is a fun place, isn't it...?!"

Hehe... Hahahaha...!

"So you're trying to tell me that the reason you stopped me from going about my business was that you wanted to fight?!" After a burst of laughter, the purple-haired young man inquired.

Even as an evil villain, Saber wouldn't go around challenging and trying to subjugate everyone he saw. After all, that would be courting death.

But, the middle-aged man in front of him seemed to not care the least about courting death...

"Hey, don't say it like that." With his hand scratching the back of his head filled with black hair, he replied with an embarrassed expression. "I thought you seemed strong, so you got my blood boiling is all..!"

Oh?!

"And how did you come to this realization? It's not as if I was releasing any of my energy." Saber was slightly interested in this man now. "That..." The middle-aged man pointed at his eyes.

"Your eyes. Only Golden Immortals constantly stay in their Elemental Forms, so when I saw that a Profound Immortal was casually flying across the skies in his Elemental Form, seemingly without any drawback, I immediately understood you might be someone who could make my blood boil..!"

When one entered their Elemental Form, a lot of energy was expended to keep the transformation going. It is only after entering the Golden Immortal realm and reaching a certain level of comprehension of an element that one is no longer affected by this energy consumption.

Saber, on the other hand, appeared to be unique. Unlike others, Saber appeared to be able to maintain this state without tiring. However, this was not the case. Saber wasn't able to keep his human form at all.

He was stuck in this state... No, this was his natural state. His elemental form was his truest form, so he wouldn't even use a speck of energy to maintain it.

Saber's cold black and white pupils stared down the man in front of him. "And what if I was too much for you to handle..? What if my strength was beyond your comprehension?!" Saber was enjoying talking to someone like this.

Simple. Unbothered by the ruthlessness of the actual world. It was refreshing to find someone like this. Someone soo dense to the surrounding world.

In the past month, Saber met many cultivators in the tens of cities he visited for 'requirement' and this was the first time he met such an interesting character.

Hahaha!

The man suddenly grabbed his belly and burst forth in unrestrained boisterous laughter that caught Saber by surprise. He raised a brow as the laughter slowly subsided. Seeing Saber's questioning, the man replied.

"Too much to handle?" The man's voice resounded in the surroundings. "What do you mean by that? I am the strongest being on this floor!"

Thrum!

Upon saying this, a majestic aura descended. Though nothing seemed to have changed, Saber felt as if the man in front of him had become a giant, growing countless feet.

This was caused by his mere aura!

"The strongest you say..." Saber's voice trailed at the end. To be honest, his true intention wasn't to destroy soo many cities.

After devouring those Sand Demons, he understood the location of the one named Spear God who was like an Overlord of the fourth floor of hell.

The cities he passed by were simply in the direction of the path he needed to go to reach the Spear God and, as for the reason he wanted to defeat this Spear God...

'One can say it's hate. The Sword God on the sixth floor of hell was someone who had managed to kill me. Even though I've killed him, and devoured him, I still hate those who carry a title and have the audacity to place the word God in it.'

'Someone with the name 'God' can't die, and I didn't die, even though I was killed. I alone am God, others are mere imitations, trying to steal my title..!' Saber thought...

'Well, this was the reason in the past. Now, hmm, I've got no reason besides growing stronger and due to my recent transformation...'

'Only this Spear God, someone who can claim to be the strongest Profound Immortal, might be able to give me a substantial boost in strength.'

Till now, Saber was only in the 6th Level Profound Immortal realm. Even after devouring thousands of Profound Immortals, he couldn't break the barrier between the 6th and 7th levels. He predicted that the Spear God would be able to help him...

"Oh? But, isn't there the one who goes by the name of Spear God... Are you saying that you're stronger than him..?" Saber replied to the man's boasting.

Humph!

The middle-aged man once more smirked proudly. He shook his spear before pointing the tip at Saber's throat and saying. "You still can't put two and two together even after hearing my words and seeing this weapon?"

Rumble!

The void appeared to tremble all of a sudden. Saber's body instantly released an overpowering aura, which collided with the body of the middle-aged man. Saber's face lit up with a feral grin as he covered his mouth with his hand.

"Oh! You don't say!!..." Saber's canines seemed to lengthen as his black and white pupils released intertwined beams of light, displaying a beautiful sight of two opposites in harmony.

The dark purple sclera in his eyes appeared to be ablaze with countless stars. Even though they could be seen before, it appeared that they had now truly come to life.

"So you're the so-called Spear God..! Do you by chance know of the Sword God?" Saber suddenly asked as the grip on the hilt of his sword tightened.

Perceiving this sudden action, the Spear God's eyes brightened in understanding. "Oh, are you that person's disciple..? It seems even though he couldn't, he cultivated a useful disciple who could climb the tower!"

Hearing his tone, Saber's expression froze. He seemed surprised, "By the way you speak about him, it seems you were very close." Immediately, a smirk appeared on the Spear God's face.

"Yup! Even though I use the spear, at first, I used a sword. It was only after becoming stronger than my master did I realize that, the sword isn't for me."

"I eventually settled on the spear after experimenting with various weapons, into which I incorporated all of my master's techniques, giving birth to Spear Arts that were very similar to the sword arts of the Sword God... my master."

Hehehe... Hahahahaha!!.....

Saber began laughing uncontrollably in front of the Spear God's puzzled gaze. Saber noticed it and looked into the middle-aged man's eyes.

"Why are you perplexed? Don't tell me you can't add two and two together. Okay, I'll explain it in terms that even a child can understand..."

"Sword God, I shattered his mind, extinguished his soul, and annihilated his body!"
