Extraordinary super slow burn romance. * There are ranks of the mages in this book, with Rank S being the highest. * The monsters also have their level, which is determined by their destructive capacity and the amount of damage inflicted on their prey or target. Zenphek Mage Training?!

"Good evening, Mr. Greg," Vin greeted as he entered the bar, only to see the man looking drunk and tired at one of the tables.

"Vin, is that you?" Greg asked, ready to take another sip from his beer cup.

"Yes, and why are you looking so-"

"I lost my job!"

"Uh?!" Vin couldn't believe his ears.

Coming to sit close to the man, who continued drinking without stopping, he knew that losing a job wasn't the only problem.

"Mr. Greg, there is something else, isn't there?" Vin tried to lower his voice so as not to draw any attention, doing his best to maintain eye contact with Greg.

"O-of...m...of course, not..." Greg said, hiccupping in between his words before forming a complete sentence. "I lost my job because of you! They say you attacked an A-ranked knight and almost killed him, which I find unbelievable. Now, what will I do when I don't have a job? My wife is just a seamstress, our son is a chimney sweeper, and he rarely comes home with three bronze coins... I'm ruined, all because of you."

Vin sat still, his fist tightly gripping the table which slowly broke.

"So, I see now, it's because of that knight, huh?" he mumbled before getting up.

"Where do you think you're going to go?" Greg grabbed his arm.

"To set things straight."

Losing his grip, Vin stormed out of the bar, making sure to place twenty-five silver coins in Greg's pocket to prevent him from losing literally everything.

Outside, Vin walked slowly past the crowd, his wrath beyond imagination.

[I can feel a boiling wrath in my heart. A wrath to end the knight. This feeling is that of the original body, if it were to be Dravil, he would long to kill them.] He thought, trying to calm himself down.

Taking a deep breath with his eyes closed, he suddenly sensed an incoming object.

In no time, he caught it and realized it was small.

"I'm so sorry, Mister," a young child's voice made his eyes slowly open.

Before him stood a short and strange boy, with the smell of vanilla emitting from his clothes.

"I mistakenly threw the ball in your direction without knowing," the boy shyly said, not wanting his toy to get destroyed.

Opening his hand, Vin saw the tiniest circular ball he had ever seen a child play with.

"But you can easily lose this ball if you keep throwing it around."

"I know, Mister. However, that is the only toy I could get for my birthday," the boy explained.

"Okay, I understand." Looking around to see if anyone was watching, Vin took the ball into his jacket, only to bring it out as a bigger size.

"Whoa!!! I never knew you are a mage," the boy exclaimed.

"Mage?"

"Yes! Mages are the only ones who uses magic around here. Or are you one of those Magic users--"

"Shhhh," Vin told the boy, who nodded. "This is our little secret, okay?"

"Yes! Thank you, Mister." The boy happily took his new ball to play with, a wide smile on his face.

"You're welcome," whispered Vin with a slight smile. But soon he thought of something, "It looks suspicious to me, but why do I keep encountering children in this town?"

Without wasting time on a really flexible thought, he continued walking away into the forest, towards a place he called home.

_______

VIN'S NEWLY BUILT MANSION.

SOMEWHERE IN FOGGY FOREST:

"Let me understand the situation I'm in," Vin spoke to himself while looking in the mirror, "I'm an overpowered lord-"

"An overpowered dark lord," his reflection suddenly spoke back to him.

"Ah! What the heck?" Reflexes made Vin punch the mirror so hard that the wall behind cracked.

"Oh, so I startled you now?" The same voice spoke from a small water fountain in the hall.

"Am I going crazy?" Vin shook his head, recalling the incident. "I just saw my reflection speak back to me. Who on Earth does that?"

"Me! And just come over and let's talk."

"I refuse to communicate with you."

"I know you transmigrated into this body, and I've been watching you the whole time," the voice continued. "If you want to survive, you will have to understand the body you dwell in."

Listening to the voice, Vin slowly approached the fountain with a serious expression on his face.

"So, who are you?" he asked upon reaching the fountain.

"I'm your reflection, and my duty is to fulfill your wish... Well, your curious questions, that it."

"Why would you do that in the first place?"

"That's the only way I can remain alive." Crazy as it may sound, his reflection explained.

"Okay?" Vin stroked his chin, "Even though I don't understand a single word you're saying, I believe you."

"WHAT!"

"Anyway, I need to keep a low profile-"

"So as to become a hero and save this kingdom, blah blah blah," the reflection said.

"How long have you been spying on me?" Vin asked.

"Are you stupid or something? I'm your reflection!"

"Yeah, I got that part already." Vin walked away from the hall as his reflection followed alongside. "Do you always have to be with me all the time?"

"Of course not, you can call me when needed."

"Okay, I don't need you now, so be gone."

"Yeah, whatever."

"Hey, before you go, am I not supposed to have a talking reflection?" Vin questioned, looking at the red glass which beautified the walkway.

"No, Lord Dravil, or should I say Lord Vincent."

Before Vin could say another word, his reflection had gone back to normal; It no longer spoke or performed a different movement. Just a normal human's reflection.

"Damnit!."

_______

Finally, it was nighttime.

Vin walked into another hallway in the mansion, where a large rectangular table with twenty-two chairs stood.

Taking a seat, he brought out the scroll that Snow had given him earlier.

With a simple clap, all the candles were lit. A quill and ink as well appeared before his eyes.

"I wish all of this had happened in the modern world." Pushing aside his shattered hopes, Vin opened the scroll, only to see a few words.

-'Enrollments'

'Pick your training'

-'KNIGHTS'

-'MAGE'

"Oh, I guess I'll be staying up late today," he lamented, picking up his quill, which was already dipped in ink.

Checking the box next to 'MAGE', the entire list of words changed into something different.

'FILL IN PERSONAL INFORMATION'

"LORD!!!" Frustration filled his voice.

***

Eight hours had passed since Vin had filled out the form, and it had been no fun.

"Okay, the last part…"

'CANDIDATE'S SIGNATURE'

With anger, he scrawled a horrible signature and ended it with a dot.

Afterwards, the scroll rolled up on its own and disappeared, leaving Vin feeling lonely.

"Finally! I've finally completed that terrible experience," he exclaimed, getting up and checking the time on a small stopwatch he always carried in his pocket. "It's already midnight."

Yawning, despite not feeling tired, he took a step but suddenly stopped when the scroll reappeared on the table.

"What now!" He matched the scroll's reappearance with anger and opened it again.

'Application successful'

'Congratulations, you have been accepted into Zenphek Mage Training. You are currently ranked F, so there will be little to no advantages. Your schedule will be provided to you once you have received your rules and all necessary items. Good luck.'

"What the heck is all this about?" Vin ran his hands through his hair, unable to think clearly. "What would the original body do if he realized he was ranked F in an academy when he is already a professional in almost everything? I hope my plan works in this Zenphek Mage Training. I'm not a student or a rookie! I'm an overpowered demon lord who is a villain. I made the wrong choice."
