Chapter 6

At the Hoshikage Mansion, Jocelyn awaited the arrival of her children. This is unusual since she's rarely home at that hour due to her work at the Hoshikage technology research and Advancement Facility. She waited anxiously for her children to return having heard the news of the attack in the school.

At about 4pm, Jon and his sisters got home. They all got down from the car and walked to the door where they met their mother waiting. The moment she saw them, she hugged all three of them.

"Mum, I'm alright" Akari tried to say before being interrupted by Jocelyn.

"Don't give me that." Jocelyn said.

"I know I shouldn't have let you three go to school today, something didn' feel right. I should be...." Jocelyn said before being hugged by Akari who assured her that she was fine.

Akari explained all that happened in the school including how Jon had saved her. Jocelyn smiled at Jon and thanked him to which he nodded in reply.

Later that night at dinner, the girls were called downstairs by their maids to dinner as usual while Jon was in his room.

"Mum, why does Jon not eat with us?" Akemi asked.

"He prefers to stay alone most of the time. He's been like that since you were younger, watching you from from a distance." Jocelyn replied with a soft smile.

Akemi suddenly stood up and went upstairs. Jocelyn asked where she was going but she just said that she would be right back. She went to Jon's room and knocked on the door.

"I'm coming in" she said as she opened the door.

She saw Jon on his desk with a couple of books and his food. His room was quite tidy apart from the table that was filled with books. This was the first time that she had entered his room. Before this, there was no need to to be here.

"Big bro, we're going down to eat." Akemi said in a semi shaky voice before dragging him by his hand.

She managed to get him downstairs to the dining table where she told him to sit. She also asked one of the maids to bring his food downstairs.

"From now on Big bro, you should eat with us." Akemi said, faked anger almost successfully hiding her shaky voice.

Jon looked at her which scared her a little and smiled slightly. Not long after Jon sat on the table with his food for the first time, Jocelyn received a message from a friend and she excused herself to receive it. When she got back, the girls simultaneously asked who was on the phone.

"Oh, that was a friend of mine from the Yagami family." Jocelyn replied

"Yagami, I've heard that name before." Akari thought to her self but quickly dismissed it.

"She asked us if we could come over to her private resort." Jocelyn continued.

"We can go this week" Akari said excitedly with sparkle in her eye.

Jocelyn sat down and aked them if they weren't going to school the following day.

"There's no school for the rest of the week because of the incident." Akemi said.

"Sure we can go as long as we all agree on it." Jocelyn said.

Then the girls looked at Jon, batting their lashes at him "Big bro, we're going right?" They asked.

Jon nodded wordlessly.

The next day, the family were on the road. Shinto district, where the resort was located, is a district In Varia, a country also known as the technology isle for having the lead in technology in the western upper region of the world. Shinto district is home a few of the longest existing families in the city.

After a few hours drive from Terra city where their house and school is located. On arrival at the resort, they met a butler who escorted them to the main house where they were to meet the Yagami's.

The girls were astonished by the share size of the resort and its intricate design. The resort was about 28,000 square feet with 3 bath houses and a hot spring. It also had 136 rooms, 3 residential buildings, a restaurant and a beach. Most of the buildings were old but were in pristine condition.

"How old is this place" Akari asked the butler as they walked through a beautiful garden.

"This resort is 183 years old." The butler replied

"Looks good for an old place." Akari said.

"That's only because of intense maintenance." He replied.

After 3 minutes of walking on a path made of stone, they got to the biggest building in the resort . It was about 875 square feet including the garden and pond.

The Hoshikages were greeted by Viktor Yagami and Kurenai Yagami. Jocelyn smiled at her friend, Kurenai, and asked her if she had gained weight to which angered her. Seeing his wife getting angry, Viktor coughed

"The kids are here we shouldn't act as kids" he said calmly.

Jocelyn and Kurenai composed themselves and Viktor formally welcomed the family and invited them inside. Although the general outer designs of the building was archaic due to how long it had been since it had been built, the interior design was modern. The living area had an octagonal shape with beautifully shaped lights on each wall, 8 red couches with gold lining, a center piece which was made from a gem, a large TV and a couple of other beautiful things.

They all sat in the living area and refreshments were brought by the butlers.

"Kure, why did you suddenly remember your friend still being alive?" Jocelyn asked Kurenai.

"Who'd forget such a pain in the.." Kurenai said before being interrupted by her husband.

"Language" he said.

The girls were a little shocked to see their mum act like that. They are more accustomed to their down to earth composed mother. Kurenai explained that it was her daughter's idea for them to be here. As Kurenai said daughter, the door opened and a familiar girl wearing a purple dress came in.

"This is my daughter Yuri, Yuri Yagami." Kurenai said

"Aren't you the class rep in big brothers class?" Akari asked.

Yuri nodded.

She turned to her mum and whispered something int her ear. Kurenai nodded in agreement with what she said. Yuri then told the girls and Jon to follow her as she had something to show them.

"Be back for dinner kids" Kurenai said as they left the living room.

"Yes mum!" Yuri replied happily.

"You all came a long way, you must be tired." Kurenai said talking to Jocelyn.

"You should rest before dinner. We'll personally show you around the resort tomorrow." Viktor added.

Jocelyn stood up in agreement with them. Viktor called for Gerald the head butler to escort Jocelyn to her room but before leaving she looks in the direction of Kurenai and said that she'd explain everything later.

Meanwhile, Yuri, Akari, Akemi and Jon were on the way to a building that looked a lot older than all the other buildings in the resort.

"What is this place" Akari asked.

"This is the first building that was built by my family in this area." Yuri replied.

"And why are we here?" Akemi asked.

"It's something I need your opinion on" Yuri replied.

They entered the building and Yuri took them to the library. She said what she needed their help with was in the center of the library. On there way there Jon scrolled through a couple of books on the shelves.

"I never knew big bro liked to read." Akari said.

"That's what he's always busy wi.." Akemi said before being interrupted by Yuri's voice.

"Right there" she said while pointing to a strange sculpture.

It was like a lectern with small pillars around it and a channel running through it. It was in the middle of a circle and had some drawings around it. They walked towards it and Akari examined it with Jon who looked interested in what it was.

After a while Jon looked up towards a lever. The girls noticed and looked at each other.

"Should we pull it?" Akari asked.

" Sounds good" Yuri said.

"No, I think we should ask your parents Yuri" Akemi said.

The girls argued for some time while Jon was reading a couple of books. Akemi finally gave up after seeing that her sister and Yuri would not listen. Yuri using her shadow manipulation skill pulled the lever.

Sounds of gears turning could be heard in the room. The lectern was raised by a pillar and the roof of the building opened with the moonlight shining on the lectern. Then a blue liquid poured from a bottle that was held up by a pulley system. The liquid ran along the channels and around the circle.

The circle began to glow blue then purple then red then deep red then an explosion occurred that sent a wave of energy across the resort
