Chapter 7: NORI

NORI proved to be an extremely versatile system that made my life in the new environment much easier. As an advanced nanit system, NORI replaced conventional smartphones and used my own sensory organs, especially my eyes and ears, to process information.

An impressive feature of NORI was its direct connection to my consciousness, which allowed it to interpret information from my surroundings. This allowed me to explore my surroundings and retrieve relevant data and functions without relying on a physical device.

NORI's map app proved particularly helpful, allowing me to check my location, plan routes, and orient myself in the post-apocalyptic world. Remarkably, the map app automatically saved new map sections as I moved through dangerous areas. This kept me on the right track at all times and allowed me to maintain my orientation despite the unpredictable circumstances.

In addition to the map features, NORI offered a variety of standard functions, such as a built-in calculator that helped me with mathematical calculations.

NORI's Dictionary & Translator tool proved particularly handy, not only translating words and phrases, but also saving my lookup history and creating a personalized vocabulary list. I was impressed with how the tool even captured background sounds and learned new words to continually expand my language skills.

NORI's camera function allowed me to easily take photos and videos to record my discoveries in the post-apocalyptic world. In addition, the system also allowed me to record audio to capture important information or preserve memories.

An indispensable feature was the Wallet, which allowed me to make financial transactions in the world. With simple touches of the screen, I could make payments and keep track of my finances. Additionally, NORI's ID feature helped me confirm my identity and gain access to certain areas or services.

Suddenly, a notification from NORI appeared:

Determined, I opened the map app and followed the directions to the nearest church. It seemed like a possible place to go to find help or at least gain new perspective.

To my surprise, there were Christians here, too, which probably indicated a common origin.
