Chapter 35: Lots of Armor!

Different sets of armor line the walls. Saiba really gets a sense of why Riveria City is called the 'City of Fashion and Beauty'. All of the armor is very fancy and professionally made.

He scans through them and spots a set that looks similar to his Graystone Armor. Saiba stares at it and feels nostalgic before tapping the hard surface. A pop-up shows up and reads,

[Hard Stone Armor: Medium-Class Armor forged with Hard Stone. ATK +1. DEF +3. SPD -3]

Saiba mumbles,

"Hard Stone..? That seems familiar... It's not Graystone though..."

He leaves the Hard Stone Armor alone and continues his search.

After looking all around the shop, Saiba can't seem to find a set that's fit for him. Seeing Saiba's predicament, Vincent walks over and taps him on the shoulder. Vincent says,

"It seems that none of the display pieces fit your tastes..."

He thinks for a bit before coming up with an idea and adding,

"I got it! I have the perfect set for you, Hero!"

Vincent shuffles to a room in the back of the store. Shortly after, he walks back out, holding a set of dark and evil-looking gear. Vincent presents it by saying,

"This is a very special set of armor! It's made with a variety of different ores that all contribute to its immense strength!"

He hands it over to Saiba as the usual pop-up appears and it reads,

[Devil's Advocate Armor: Medium-Class Armor forged with Hellstone, Devil Hide, Lizard Scales, Essence of Evil, and Darkstone. Witheron Region Speciality. ATK +4. DEF +6. SPD +0]

Saiba takes off his current Black Armor and puts on the Devil's Advocate Armor. He receives a stat boost, greater than the Graystone Armor. He also looks even more evil than before. Vincent presents the armor and explains,

"Behold! The Devil's Advocate Armor! The chestplate is forged with A-Grade Hellstone and reinforced with Devil's Hide! The shoulder and knee pads are made with Lizard Scales and similarly reinforced with Devil's Hide! The cloth cape is imbued with Essence of Evil! Lastly, each piece has been coated in a thin layer of Darkstone to give it its sleek dark coloring!"

Saiba moves around a bit to get a feel of the armor. He rubs his chin and thinks,

"Hm... It's not the Graystone Armor, but it's pretty cool and the stat buff is nice..."

He makes a decision and announces,

"I'll take it, Mr. Vincent! I get a discount, right..? I'm running low on money..."

Vincent replies,

"Nothing to worry about, dear Hero! It is all free of charge! It's the least I could do for the Legendary Hero of Estrelia!"

Vincent looks over at Lazaro and asks,

"Now, does the beautiful lady or the fine gentleman want something as well?"

Surprised, Lazaro answers,

"Oh no! I like what I have right now and I don't think I could afford anything in your store!"

Vincent replies,

"Your purchases will be free of charge as well! You are a companion of the Hero, correct?"

Lazaro nods yes while whispering to Saiba,

"Being a Hero has a lot of perks, doesn't it..."

Lily says,

"I think I'll be good with what I have right now..."

Lazaro searches around and chooses a cloth cloak that is made with a special sea cotton. He also takes a set of leather gauntlets and greaves that are made with a similar cotton and reinforced with leather. Vincent explains the armor by saying,

"Great choice! These pieces are quite interesting! They're made with sea cotton which makes it all waterproof!"

Lazaro puts the gear on and poses dramatically. In addition, Lazaro gets two pop-ups. They read,

[Sea Cotton Cloak: Light-Class Armor forged with Sea Cotton. ATK +1. DEF +2. SPD +1]

And,

[Sea Cotton Armor: Light-Class Armor forged with Sea Cotton. ATK +2. DEF +2. SPD +1]

Saiba says,

"Thanks for all your help, Mr. Vincent!"

Saiba, Lily, and Lazaro walk out as Vincent replies,

"Thank you for service, Hero! Safe travels!"

As they exit the building, Lazaro asks,

"Where are we going now?"

Saiba answers,

"To the Underworld, right?"

Lily bonks Saiba on the head and says,

"You already know you're not strong enough to go there yet! Do you wanna get yourself killed!?"

While rubbing the spot where Lily hit him, he says,

"I can just get stronger! You guys too! Come on! It'll be fine!"

Lily sighs and Lazaro says,

"I'm sure we can trust him... Right..?"

Saiba hops onto Uma and says to him,

"Let's go, my trusty cow!"

Uma moos. Lily gets in the wagon and Lazaro gets on his scaled horse. The three exit the city and ride off towards the next destination.
